- Had a day off from work today and brought the Nikon Z6III out together with the 24-70 F4 S and the 40 F2. Testing to see how the camera handles and trying to get used to using a variable ND filter along with auto ISO switched on. Also seeing how best to grade N-Log footage in Premiere Pro on my non calibrated monitor.
This test was meant to simulate how I would realistically use the camera when I'm vlogging overseas. Not deliberately stress testing the camera to try and lift nearly crushed blacks or almost blown highlights. (I let the highlights get blown in some shots.) I'm happy with what the camera can do! The only 2 gripes are that the saturation of the green sometimes feels a bit too extreme in certain scenes. I also realised I had to slightly dial back saturation when there's indoor/artificial lighting. In future testing I'll see how the footage looks if I don't import the Nikon 3D LUT.
Another thing to note is that vibration reduction is on (but NOT in sport mode), electronic stabilisation is OFF. More testing for future videos. The walking shots are particularly terrible in the video also because I'm not making any effort to ninja walk.
