Peter parker in this run feels like it's some guy who read like 1 or 2 comics a long time ago that is trying to act like Peter Parker for a school play.
It's kinda imply he's a clone but it's left unanswered. Secret wars stop a lot of stories

Literally one of the best comics of all time ruined. Peter isn't even acting like himself here. Why would he care if someone took his spot saving the city? Peter literally only cares about saving lives and that's what Miles has been doing. He doesn't thank him or anything.

And it’s not like that game isn’t canon, that game was written by Dan Slott, and is referenced in Edge of Time (which was written by Peter David), thus making them canonical to each of the Spider-Men in their respective worlds.

Fun fact: comic spider-man is faster, stronger, smarter, and more athletic and overall a better spider-man than Miles is. You could make the argument that Miles has his venom powers and his invisibility but it doesn’t matter because Peter has replicated these powers through tech.

It is a fundamental cornerstone of Miles Morales' characterization that he wants to live up to the expectations people set for him.
he stays in Visions Brooklyn because he wants to make his father happy
he wears the Spider-Man name and costume because it honors the Spider-Man who came before him.
to take him on a story where he just says "fuck that, I'm not going to live up to anybody's expectations for me." would be a great disservice to his character at present.

Miles is also backed up by Shield, unlike Peter. Why can't shield give him his own Web Shooters?
@@baligong3592 shield doesnt know how, likewise miles had legal ownership of them. if you die, legal ownership goes to your estate, which passes them on to new owners. if peter wanted them back, he had to announce his revival before a court. the property is now under the ownership of the public spider-man, aka miles morales.
peter literally screwed miles over (spider-men without webs means bad guys get a lot more time to kill people), knowing he could scrounge enough materials to make even better web shooters if he really cared to.
There is only ONE SPIDER-MAN, PETER PARKER. Miles is some other spider character.

They are making miles op for no reason at all. Like he has no powerful villains at all or even his own villains. The last guy he fought was carnage and that's spider man's villain
My guy are you even caught up in Miles's comics? Because if you were, you wouldn't be saying this. Because this isn't true in the slightest and it proves you're aren't keeping up with his comics.
Yes, he just fought Carnage. But it was a nice self contained crossover and one that had stakes in it, and him fighting Peter's villains isn't bad. Especially if they haven't fought Peter in a long time(Scorpion), treated as a joke (The Spot) or are looked at as a dumb idiot who will just smash things (Rhino), and Miles has a tendency to create some cool bonds with them too, look at Rhino and Scorpion.
If you've been reading his comics since Bendis left, you'd know what I mean.
I am happy he fought Carnage, since that literally picks up from King In Black where Cletus forced a piece of the Carnage Symbiote onto Miles and forced him to do terrible things. This crossover picks up on that plot point and brings it up in a heartfelt conversation between Miles and his dad. It was sad, but it was a good moment. Miles goes to try to stop Carnage and unfortunately he couldn't do that alone, throw in an anti-hero/villain team and a Red Goblin and you got Cletus wrecking shit and them trying to stop him, save people in the process and getting their asses kicked.
And as for his rouges gallery, it's being *built!* Like I said, if you've *been* reading Miles's comics, then you'd know what I'm talking about. Ever since Bendis left and other people have started writing for Miles, he's been getting a personal rouges gallery built up for himself, in his previous run alone by Saladin Ahmed, he's dealing with a lot of villains that were introduced for himself (literally 6 villains and an anti-hero were introduced in his run), although Ultimate Green Goblin does make an appearance, it doesn't last long but it was cool as fuck though.
Right now Cody Ziglar, the current writer of Miles's new run is giving him the rouges gallery he deserves. The first 5 issues of the new focused on a new villain named Rabble and she almost took everything from Miles, he almost died fighting her. Through Carnage Reigns, we got a new anti-vigilante group called The Cape Killers, three of their members are people Miles has fought before and one is a new villain called HighTail and he's going to fight her in issue #10 of his new run, after he and Hob Goblin fight each to the death apparently. And the Cape Killers are going to be in future arcs of the Ziglar run.
Please catch up my guy, because you are seriously missing out on some greatness.

dude, this is marvel, every villain is everyone's villain, kingpin has at least 3 or 4 heroes he is the nemesis of. Doom and Magneto have faced off against more marvel heroes than most D lists have against their main rival.

He made them using his father's unfinished design for the web formula. The webshooters are essentially the only interaction he had with his father since his death. Those webshooters are more than just a tool, it's memorabilia, his last connection he has to his parents.

While OP gave decent explanations for Peter not disapproving explicitly (simply wanting his web shooters back and not wanting somebody else to share the mantle or take on the pain it inevitably brings), i feel like this story pretty much demands you read the text as “Miles was unconfident cause his universe’s previous Spider-Man, Peter, had died before giving him a chance or his blessing to carry the torch and legacy”, and juxtaposition was that his closest friends and family had said he’d give his blessing and appreciate Miles. Hell, even at the end of this story, Peter finally apologizes for his behavior and returns the webshooters to Miles

It's because marvel is doing everything it can to phase Peter Parker out and have him replaced with Miles. 90% of Spider-Man comics today consists of Peter getting the absolute shit kicked out of him, him being cucked by some random guy who is one of the clearest self inserts I've ever seen and overall is reduced to some pathetic, weak guy who does things like beg Tombstone that he's "learned his lesson" and to not hurt him anymore as he's just getting practically murdered by him.
It's sad since Spider-Man is obviously such a universally loved character but this is modern comics and modern media overall for you at this point, just break down legacy characters to laughable degrees and replace them with new characters. Can't wait to see the next Spider-Man issue where Peter begs on his hands and knees for MJ to take him back and once again gets the brakes beat off him by someone but I guess that's what marvel want to happen now

This whole conflict was absurd. Peter didn’t want anyone to know he was alive, but decided it was necessary to show himself to Miles to get his webshooters back. Webshooters he made and could probably make again. Then Miles keeps stonewalling Peter every time he asked for them back. Neither of them were able to talk or act in any way an actual human being would act, so the author could force this conflict. Nice to see Peter back again, but this was a dumb way to do it.
And then "Peter" reveals himself on TV, anyway.
Uh, Miles clearly tried to talk things out, figuring out how Peter was alive was way more important than some Webshooters.

But now Peter is back and the whole situation has changed. If he’d been hesitant because he wasn’t sure if this Peter was a Skrull or something, that might have worked better. But instead, Miles and Peter were just being stubborn, hard-headed idiots to force a conflict.

Even after the end of their exchange, he thinks this Peter is a clone.
In Hindsight we know this is Peter, but from Miles' point of view, he is seeing someone who is supposed to be dead, not explaining how he is alive again, demanding webshooters he hasn't proved actually belong to him, Miles got them from Aunt May and Peter is straight up refusing to go and talk to her. Miles has every right to be apprehensive.
Again, Miles wanted to sit and talk to work things out, but Peter then proceeded to put hands on Miles, who was not trying to fight back at any point.

In general I do find it weird how in all modern Spider-man media now, Miles is now introduced as taking up the mantle as spider-man when Peter is still in his prime of his 20s. I mean c'mon, Peter is only 23 in the PS4 game and they already want to introduce Miles to be the successor? At least in Batman Beyond, Bruce is 80 and retired. It would be weird if both Terry and Bruce were both active under the same alias of Batman. That's why there is much controversy on the naming convection for Miles Morales Spider-man since there are currently wo active Spider-men.
I feel this is the problem, miles should’ve been his own Spider-Man in the ultimate comics but they made him come to 616. Everyone, especially casual fans push the agenda miles should fully replace Peter as the main Spider-Man. That’s why there is so much controversy, they can’t replace eachother they need to be their own people. That’s why eventually Ben and Jessica worked well, they worked on their own out of Peter’s way. Now in modern comics miles if finally doing his own thing,but Peter’s stories are currently ass while miles’ stories are way better. Essentially making a loop with people wanting to replace peter
Miles was created to be a black spiderman. So that's what he is black spiderman....not really weird considering they canonically made him thor, captain America, hulk and wolverine. Yes its canon. They did a cross over to main continuity.

If they did a reboot, it'd be cool if instead of a clone, scarlet spider was miles but kidnapped and expiremented on by Warren to be his take on a "Ultimate" version of spiderman. Peter helps miles escape and miles uses the name scarlet spider, adapts the Hoodie and web shooters to fit miles

Something I love about the new game of Spider-Man 2 is that Peter and Miles called themselves Spiderman. No one is better than the other, they are equals and have equal respect, they love each other as family. I love the attention Miles is having since he is one of my favorites but hate they do Peter so dick when he is such a beautiful person.

To those who don't know the context to most of this i will give you a short version.
This is the Ultimate universe, here the avengers are called the Ultimates, the Mutants where created by a scientist and are not the next step in human evolution like in 616. Peter Parker was only Spider-Man for a year a and a half (It was retconed before it was like 2 years), also he died like a few weeks after his 16 birthday, the thing that created the spider that bit peter and miles and created the green goblin (and other characters like Doc ock or hobgoblin) the oz formula can make people inmortal wich inplies that Norman and Peter (And maybe miles) are inmortal, and that is why they are back from the dead. All of this happends a few weeks after the second anniversary of Peter's death so he was like 18 at this point.
This story was never concluded because of the event of Secret wars of 2016, and the iltimate universe was destroyed (with other universe in the way) altho some characters from that universe like miles ended in 616. We did see the Ultimate universe in the venom comics and other characters in of that universe like Ultimate Iron man and hulk. We even saw what happend to this peter after all of that in the event Spider Men 2, but right now it seems like they are trying to reboot the Ultimate universe

@@Ynbreezey12 Miles Morales was originally from an alternate universe called the Ultimate Universe where his stories took place seperately from the main Peter Spider-Man who lives in the Main Marvel Universe where most of the comics take place. Miles is from Earth 1610 and Peter is from Earth 616.
This story took place back when Miles was in his own universe but In 2015, Miles would transfer from Earth 1610 to Earth 616 and continue being Spider-Man alongside Peter. Their friendship was established in the main comics and of course what Insomniac's versions are based off.
Dont understand how so many people dont see Peter's side of this. He comes back to life and somebodys not only has his identity but his invention he made using his dead fathers formula, and hes just supposed to be cool and all open arms about it?

I was sad that this series never addressed the fact of how ultimate peter parker came back from the dead because frankly that was question i thought was going to be answered in the future but nope instead of getting that answer secret wars came in and blew everything up literally up and the ultimate marvel universe died because of it.
if you actually READ the comic you'd know goblin formula makes you immortal, meaning peter, norman and miles can't be killed

In my opinion this comic did ultimate spiderman a major injustice the fact that peter didnt even go to aunt may to let her know he was ok,but went to mary jane is out of character,same with the fact that he just broke into someone elses place for a selfish reason,not to mention he just coldly brushes off miles and doesnt want him to be spiderman not because it’s a dangerous job,or even because miles was just doing a worst job then he did as spiderman,but simply because he didn’t want miles to be spiderman for some weird selfish reason,i know some comics reverse death but i think some deaths should remain the way they are.
Honestly this was a terrible choice for Miles's comics in general back in the Bendis era. And bringing Peter back just invalidated his absolutely amazing sendoff and to me it felt like it was spitting in the face of Miles taking over and becoming the new Spider-Man to honor his legacy.
Even though at the end of it, Peter left with MJ to find out why he was brought back to life, I still didn't like it since it just says Peter will come back and become Spider-Man again and it felt like Miles wasn't needed.
It was cool to see them interact, it was cool for Peter to see that he inspired someone else to take up the mantle of being Spider-Man and see that they were amazing and it was great that Peter gave Miles his blessing to be Spider-Man.
But at the same time, he should've stayed dead, maybe have Norman come back due to his Oz Formula being perfected and Peter's wasn't. But Bendis should've let Peter stay dead as a hero who died saving his family.
Peter called, he said “nah, imma do my own thing”
It was just the writers weird projection to make Peter look bad to prop up Miles.
@@windghost2 exactly what’s the point of introducing miles into the story if you’re just gonna have peter come back and demand he drop the gig,the whole thing about spider man is that anyone could’ve gotten bitten and went down that path,its the fact that miles when he took over the role he done good and its like peter comes back,sees how good he’s doing and still says “nah forget that chief” even though aunt may asked him to continue being spider man because she knows how important he is to new york and peter should know that too.

Not cooler at all. He was created as a token character and the extra powers were meant a deliberate attempt to try and make him more interesting than Peter. For most people with brains, it didn’t work.
"With brains" okay bro let's hear it. Miles is a valid character with great growth. It's also been shown that yeah he has more powers but clearly they make it a point to always show that peter is much more skilled and always will be more skilled, making peter look even better while Miles gets something interesting and unique. He coexists with peter and he also helps peter evolve as a character from young to adult. It's like a waaay better batman and robin dynamic. Why don't you like miles ?@@RadialNoah
@@jovinprime because his existence demands something be done with Peter. Just like Insomniac studios is actively doing. He is a replacement. Not a partner. He is definitely not better than the Batman/Robin dynamic, because Robin doesn’t go around calling himself Batman.
