I have all of the Line 6 stompbox modelers in this series (DM4, FM4, MM4, and DL4). As far as sound goes, the MM4 is my favorite. It gets a great selection of modulations, but it has a big volume drop that is hard to work with, especially if you use modulations on/off over the course of a song.
I love this pedal particularly the Leslie 145 (Rotary Drum & Horn) setting when used with the expression pedal even if you just come off the pedal it will show down just as a Leslie would.with two amps 90 degree in the Room/Stage great image & Great unit 4 sure.Thanks for posting c];-D
Your right. The leslie has a drive control that I may have had too high. Actually, I've just modded this pedal to get rid of the slight vol drop problem that they have. Now there is now a slight boost when I turn an effect on, much better! It's a VERY difficult job to do though, but worth it. G
nice, i'm debating on this or a fulltone mini deja vibe 2- i might go with the fulltone just because its true bypass and has that expression pedal built-in ( i know this has more effects though) Great demo sir-

How does this compare to the TC Electronic Nova Modulator? I have heard that the MM4 suffers from some tone suck as well as varying volume level issues between differnet models. Cheers. James
I would up replacing it with a few small modulation pedals, swapping them in an out as needed due to limited pedalboard space. I moved the MM4 to the loop of an E-H Superego, a place where the volume drops won't matter because it can be on for a full song. Do you have a video where you describe the modification to the MM4 to fix the problem? Thanks!
I just saw one of these in an ad cheap but with one of the preset buttons not working. 3 presets is probably enough for me anyway. is the Pitch vibrato good compared to an original VB-2? where in this clip are you using that setting and could you put up a clip where you compare it to the original pedal? (Im assuming you have the VB-2 since you have quite a collection there)
whats your view on this pedal mate? how does it rate to the legendary effects its based on, i know it will not be as good but does it come close? sounds good to me if im honest. Jake

Can you set each of the buttons to have a certain effect and just hit that button to engage that effect? Never had one of these before but looking into it and that's the main reason I'd want one. Just basically to have 4 effects at my feet.

Good review of this product, however the sound is not so good in my opinion specially the chorus and the phaser. They can't be compared with the CE-2 and the Phase 90.
FYI: Google R3FX line6 volume drop - most of the issue is setting or refusing to use the buffered mode - I found switching to buffered sorted this issue for me immediately.
Dr. Mtz - so yes this is a very important factor to me to, I need to have phaser, reverb and chorus (at least) as my project is fairly 'psych'. So you could store those pedal settings in those 1st 3 (accepted that they will each have their own mix etc), and have them all on and stomp pedal 4 and toy would (essentially) be using the 4 effects? I've been searching for something that will have all the modulation i need, but buying separate pedals will cost thousands and take up a lot of space. Please help. 🙏

The timeline sucks major baws. Its complete shit, and like plastic surgery the end result is shit. It just one big digital piece of shit delay. The line 6 DL4 destroys it. Timeline has no character. Its dull, cold and lifeless, and quiet. Yes it has features, but it sounds bollocks. I cannot for the life of me understand the hype it gets for being such a piece of shit.

Keeley Effects offers a modification that solves the volume drop problem and adds clarity and bass response. I'm sending my MM4 in to them soon.

Probably the most useful line6 modeler, more than dl4 since you can get pretty much the same with a dd7

The "peak follower" effect for the tremolo would be an excellent way to play Radiohead's Bones without having to kneel down constantly.
@thebeastwithoutpants I know. These things are selling for about £250 in the UK. Both boxes will cost £500. A lot of cash, but that DL4 is amazing.

Make sure you use a stereo instrument cable to connect them, too. Not sure why that's a necessity, but it is.
