BJP-NDPP CANDIDATE PHANGNON KONYAK FILES HER RAJYA SABHA NOMINATION

S Phangnon Konyak, the BJP-NDPP candidate for the lone Nagaland Rajya Sabha seat, slated for polls on March 31, filed her nomination before the returning officer Khruohituonuo Rio on Monday which is also the last day of filing nominations. Konyak was accompanied by Chief Minister and NDPP President Neiphiu Rio, Minister of Higher Education & Tribal Affairs and state BJP president Temjen Imna Along and Minister of Civil Aviation and Railways of Nagaland P Paiwang Konyak as she filed her nomination. Konyak who is the Nagaland state BJP Mahila Morcha President has been nominated by the BJP-NDPP coalition as the candidate for the election to Nagaland's lone seat in the upper house of parliament which will be vacant following the retirement of incumbent MP KG Kenye whose term will come to an end April 2. If elected, Konyak would be the first female MP in Rajya Sabha from the state
