- Watch this extraordinary RARE example of this Mercedes 250 GD Military G Wagon. This one was in service until Sep 2021 in the German Military (Bundeswehr), completely restored in Germany in 2022 and imported to the US in 2023. This machine is the most capable 4x4, with an indestructible 2.5L Diesel Engine, solid front and rear axles, front and rear mechanical diff. locks from the factory, Manual transmission with 4 gears + 1 Crawler gear, 2 speed (shift on the fly) transfer case (2wd - 4wd HI- 4wd LO), Convertible soft top, folding windshield, original half doors with manual crank glass windows. Very hard to find with the original paint design, because its much harder to export from Germany !!! This unique and awesome machine could be yours!!!!

Drove those in my years at the 'Bundeswehr' and - yeah - they're kinda bullet proof (corrosion!!) but that comes because they have nothing on them. :D
The Diesel just runs and is made for +500k/km. We stood up to under the doors in mud while training and we hit the engine in low gear at 4-5000rpm for way over +20min. to get out of there
it doesn't metter. Only negative points I can tell are - the flimsy steering out of the 70's, wind noises at ANY time that increase with the speed^^ and in summer while on 'working' the engine can get
hot quickly, same while driving 'hight speed' (+110km/h, NOT comfy at all xD best up to max. 100km/h because of the flimsy steering too^^), to go against that put the heating on full level
but than it comes sweaty.^^ After all a good classic harder to find are the 5 door hardtop variants as 'Bundeswehr Ausführung'. :P

@@marco_loewert Na zum Einen ist das Lenkrad dünn wie 'ne Spaggetti und das in Verbindung mit dem Lenkungsspiel, dass vorhanden ist, wird's bei immer 'höherem' Tempo, ein bisschen 'abenteuerlich'.😁😀
@@ChrisKuni Also ich kann mit einer Hand am Lenkrad 110 fahren. Lenkungsspiel ist minimal. Am Fahrwerk ist allerdings einiges neu. Auch Spurrillen kein Problem. Hatte zwischendurch auch mal ein 4 Speichenlenkrad aus dem 190er drin, aber das 2 Speichen LKW Lenkrad ist irgendwie uriger.
@@marco_loewert Daran kann's z.B. liegen, ja. Ich kenn' die halt von damals mit ~5 cm Lenkungsspiel als 'Standart' und das war eben jenseits der 80 Sachen immer 'aufregend abenteuerlich'.😁😆
