i was there.. also the day before, when they did a free gig at city hall... now, the thing about the o'keefe Center is, the backstage area is like a football field.................... so all the bands (dead, airplane, apostles) had their own rolling stages, and after the gig, there they all were, jamming it up big-time (i particularly remember good morning little schoolgirl, which the dead and the apostles had done earlier).. so i was 14, completely blew off curfew, refused to even apologize .. next day, i was off to summer camp, so who cares?. it was one of the best nites ever....
For the earliest known That's It For The Other One, it's incredibly strong! Especially the ending Cryptical Envelopment, that is really close to early 1969 ferocity. You can tell they were really having fun with this at rehearsals. Can't wait to check the November 1966 Viola Lee on the other release. Thanks so much for putting these up here; I don't visit the Archive daily, weekly, or monthly now, but TH-cam's algorithm got me good here.
Thank you for uploading as usual but can i get a Download link for this show and the 66' show, I'm a completist and a collector of every show that i can get my hands on Lol again much appreciated DayJob !!!!!
Hey sorry just seeing this, these tapes can both be downloaded via Lossless Legs at the below links: 11-18-66: shnflac.net/index.php?page=torrent-details&id=49d0010ebbb73a38293c1fcedc41045e1b80ee91 8-5-67: shnflac.net/index.php?page=torrent-details&id=03f79b9e7c53b4c633bb6e682850d11d7206544c
The info I found says he switched from the Guild Starfire to a Gibson Les Paul Goldtop that was painted black in the summer of '67. Probably need to see pictures from these shows to know for sure. ✌️🇨🇦
You can hear the 70's Jerry begining to break out. The crowd sounds sooo enthusiastic, heh heh. Great job recovering an 8-track. The best thing about 8-tracks is that they would run over and over, so if you were too stoned to get up you would just let it run. What do I do with all my cassettes? Haven't listened to them in a decade.
Cassettes are making a comeback! They're a pain to ship/transport but there's interest out there for extensive collections. Especially if there's a lot of Dead in there.

Awesome!
Damn this sounds good 👍
Fantastic to have a nearly complete 1967 GD show on tape. Live tapes from that year are, as probably most here know, almost nonexistent. 👍👍

This is currrntly the earliest circulating version of the other one
do we know what guitar Jerry was playing here, was it that semi hollow red one?

It was the black Les Paul - he started using a Goldtop Les Paul later in the year…
