To add some context here, in her pre-debut days, Soyeon admitted that she hated her face and would avoid looking in mirrors. Then K-netz would comment saying she's too ugly to debut or be in a girl group. This is the most personal message Soyeon has ever written.
@@parkdaler01 Because in Korean aesthetics, Soyeon has always been considered unattractive(or ugly for an idol) by the public, and she has received a lot of negative reviews for her appearance. (Not my comment but a perfect explanation.)

Welcome to I-DLE. When they do Social Commentary, they MEAN it. This is just the Pre-Release so don't worry about the rest of the story, it's on the way.
What i liked is they showed that even the girls that soyeon was striving to be were also themselves trying to be others too. I think it very much showed that no matter who somoeone is this feeling is universal especially in our social media age.
I 💜 (G)-Idle because they do talk about these issues and present it in such a beautiful and clever way. There is NO GROUP like (G)-Idle and that is why they are May favorite group. They are all not afraid to be themselves and seeing them live was something I will never forget. All their personalities shines through ❤
Yep they been talking bout the society a lot, ofc they have their lovey dovey songs too (senorita, dumdi2, latata, hann, hwaa) but they balance it with issue in society too (uh oh, lion, omg, tomboy, nxde, allergy, queencard)
They have created songs with an atmosphere that has not been found in KPOP so far. It's very exhilarating, stylish and wonderful. In the MV, there was a figure of facing various modern problems such as sexual diversity, and I also felt interesting there.
I keep watching the video. There's such a story going on here that's both in your face but in the background that you catch new things on repeat watches. Here's the story as I see it. The main theme is "No matter who you are, you envy someone else." Soyeon is a cute geeky girl, but she wants to be pretty/sexy. She idolizes both Minnie and Miyeon and wants to be like them. When she goes to Yuqi and Shuhua for help, she wants sexy lingerie but they keep giving her childish things. I think the rest of her story is pretty obvious. Miyeon is a popular streamer who's got super model looks, but all she wants is her ex-boyfriend back, who is "dating" Minnie. At first she tries glamming herself up with Yuqi and Shuhua's help, but that doesn't seem to catch his attention. The last time you see her, she's trying to make herself more fit like Minnie by exercising. Minnie wants to be Miyeon who's a more popular influencer than her. No matter how hard Minnie works, she isn't at that same level. She wants to be her so much she even started dating Miyeon's ex, but it's all a front. She doesn't love him, she just wants something Miyeon had - which apparently he notices as he leaves her at the party. Yuqi and Shuhua are sort of cryptic, but I think I figured them out. They paint themselves as hot popular girls, and go around trying to "fix" everyone, but in reality it's all a front as they are just imitating the two American girls that you see at the party. Their truth is that they have no real friends while the models have everyone around them (and the guy they like).
I've read a lot of comments on a lot of channels so far, and many people are turning this back onto Soyeon's early days, I think she's trying to address a much bigger problem. Tho we'll never forget how people treated her in her pre-debut days, she's trying to shed light on this issue for many other people.
Nice reaction,i agree with your interpretation I think the meaning of the video and the song is a 'deja vu' but the greatest and sadness thing is that it's realistic because the video doesn't end with sy ended up loving herself like it's supposed to be I really can't wait for the next episode and see what exactly the behind of the title 'queen card' and the next scenarios So yeah 05.15.2023🤘🏽🤘🏽
Gidle always talk about real thing related to society especially woman because the song wrote/produce by the members themselves especially Soyeon, who always has her own opinion base on her live experience. OH MY GOODNESS YES YES!! So sorry I'm so late I've been very busy lately (I'm getting ready to graduate and man it's chaos), dude this whole comeback had my jaw dropped it's so catchy but when you read the lyrics you are like "Wow, this hits home-" or "This is actually really sad..." this is actually a masterpiece (also I wish I was that man, he is so lucky) it is amazing just everything though I think I like Queencard a little bit better! Dude Miyeon in this is just GORGEOUS- she's been killing it lately (She already has been but wow) and her Vocals are absolutely insane she definitely deserves more recognition, Minnie like WOW she has been killing me lately like full blown choke hold not only with her Vocals but her visuals and just again everything (this is why I can't pick a bias), Soyeon is legit one of the best Rappers in the industry and personally one of my favorites (along with Moonbyul and Dami, etc)- not to mention her visuals are INSANE (not only in here but overall), Yuqi JUST WOW she's been trying to kill me and that's not me being over dramatic (She is very cute but when she wants to she can be very sexy) and again her vocals are AMAZING, and Shuhua... WHAT DID THEY DO TO SHUHUA after Soojin left (I still hate CUBE for that) she's been going off and her teacher outfit in here is phenomenal and that just had me on the floor- this is definitely her era! Anyways I can't wait for you to check out more (G) I-DLE such as more Music Videos, B - Sides, Live Performances, Covers, Dance Practices, Moments, and of course Ships- I can't wait for more Content from you and I hope that you are doing well and staying safe and healthy Kiana! P.S. If you ever need any good Videos I could totally help you out if you need it!
If you follow Pre-debut soyeon or have time to check her out in Produce 101 and Unpretty rapstar, she always acknowledge herself to be ugly like she knows that she is and she also talked about considering plastic surgery before as well.
