Yoongi repeats "everything's gonna be alright" sixteen times, it's like a mantra... nothing is "free" in any of the BTS members... that's why I love and admire them so much Woosung's voice had the same effect in my soul as Yoojin's in Wildflower. It's like a "puncture" in your heart but at the same time has the effect of a balm, that heal it
I'm J-ARMY. My country lost great composer. Yoongi knew Professor Ryuichi Sakamoto had terminal cancer. Because Professor Ryuichi Sakamoto released statement " Since I have made it this far in life, I hope to be able to make music until my last moment, like Bach and Debussy whom I adore" June 7, 2022. I'm glad Yoongi met him in person last year in Japan. Thank you Yoongi.
Yoongi wrote this for all the artists that will come after him. He wanted to give them what he and the other members of BTS never had. Also, the significance of the "dream" sequence - it is the interlude from his first self-titled album. He began and ended the trilogy with "dream". It's absolutely beautiful that he had the opportunity to work with Ryuichi Sakamoto before his passing. He is what inspired Yoongi to play the piano. Yoongi knows how to pick the featured artists on his songs. He understands vocals and what will work with the message he's trying to send. Woosung's rawness in his vocals (which, fun fact, Woosung has never had any formal vocal training!) are absolutely perfect for this song. Yoongi is truly an artist. He has an understanding of music that is unlike anything I've seen before.
To me Woosung’s voice is pure magic. He gives the song such a feeling of poignancy combined with Yoongi’s rap and the beautiful piano is really something special. I absolutely love this song it’s so incredibly beautiful. Yoongi is a genius.
Knowing that he made this song for his juniors in the music industry is just so touching. BTS didnt get any help or guidance from their seniors in the begining, but as soon as they got famous, only then did older artists flock to them for collabs.
This song is sooo good. Even without knowing the lyrics it just is so haunting and beautiful. But it truly touches your heart when you know what he is saying. I love Yoongi💜
This is my song in the entire album!!!! It hit me so hard! My adored Woosung oh my God! Mr. Sakamoto was a composer pianist and actor from Japan. He acted as Captain Yonoi with David Bowie in the incredible movie Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence and I strongly suggest you watch this masterpiece movie and Sakamoto beautiful soundtrack he composed too for it. I was fifteen at the time and this movie hit me too in a hard way. Later he composed the masterpiece for The Last Emperor movie soundtrack and won the Oscar. 😢❤
Nice analysis, Roscoe! Do watch the documentary to see Yoongi’s meeting with Sakamoto. It’s really moving to see him interacting with an ailing artist whose music has inspired him from childhood.
Yoongi's rapping the lyrics and WooSungs singing OMG and the the composition of the piano and the music just bring it together in sheer harmony. I honestly can say I have never fully appreciated rap music and singing as much as this . This combination blew me away completely. God knows I love this song❤❤❤❤ This collaboration was just dynamic ❤❤❤
This song is amazing, and Yoongi's lyrics are soo good. He said he wrote it to the other idols/artists/musicians that are chasing their dreams. He is too precious..
thanks for your reaction to Snooze. a k-pop idol passed away before this song got released, and after the song got released Yoongi dedicated it to all the younger generation who go through hardship and told them to be strong. especially the part he keeps repeating in korean, he is saying “it will be okay”
It is in a way! The "Dream" chord sequence comes from the song So Far Away on Agust D first mixtape featuring Suran. Here is the link for the Jin and JK version. Enjoy!!!!!! th-cam.com/video/iAea2MN-qyo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GrzsGviCpiXvx1bb
This song is giving me strength these days. I’m no idol, just a young (ish) mom of 5 trying to stay alive. The piano has always spoken to my soul. This one hit me like ‘first love’ did but this one went deep. Finished my MRI/MRV yesterday and cried like a baby. I keep holding my stress in and I don’t share with anyone. I figured comfy couch is the place to go with my fears ❤. Hope all has great days ahead of them.
yoongi telling his listener that everything’s going to be alright not just once but 16 times like a mantra will always make me weep because he knows how much we find comfort in his songs he’s so clever using repetition to soothe unlike the shallow repetitive choruses we hear on the radio like you mentioned. will never understand the hate when he’s one of the most passionate artists in our time (along with the rest of bts)
The piano is perfectly sprinkled throughout the song. It weaves the rap and vocals in a way that allows them to haunt, but embrace the ear. The song would not be complete without the piano and is a true masterpiece with it. All of the musicians who participated on the album should be proud. This is a historical album, right up there with Thriller. I hope that people come to understand it's importance. Extraordinarily well done Yoongi and friends!
Ryuichi Sakamoto is mistakenly thought only as a film composer, but he was a versatile talent, and was almost everywhere in every genre: classical, techno, synthpop, jazz, hip-hop, ambient, computer games and phone sounds. He was a handsome man, pop icon, and will stay forever as one of the greatest musican! RIP Maestro! 💔
I cry.... Every.... Time.... R.I.P. ryuichi....R.I.P. Moonbin. I know this song isn't about them but because of the timing that is where my mind goes immediately, but like he says..."it'll be ok..." He is so phenomenal. The Rose has some beautiful songs as well! He got allot of hate for releasing this the day after moonbins death but company's have long set dates ahead of time, plus he gave us smiles again... Thank you. If you see the mv you see yoongi collaborating with ryuichi before his death. 💔
Thank you for your thoughts Roscoe.🫰🏼#peace Min Yoongi wrote this for all the trainees and coming young artists … his compassion and wisdom is now history.. That Woosung and Mr Sakamoto are part of it is so symbotic. #AGUSTD #SNOOZE MIN YOONGI ~ Genius 🔥♥️💜🎶🎤
I don't understand this beautiful language but this song brought me to tears. What a collaboration...Agust D, Professor Sakamoto and the amazing voice of Woosung. Suga always looking out to inspire and help others. ❤ ❤ ❤
Yoongi is giving the advice he needed someone to give him when he was struggling. Being a young person in the kpop industry is so much harder than we can imagine. But yoongi wants to be an encouragement to those who come after him. 💜
Awesome, Roscoe. You are right - sometimes we are in these little bubbles, limiting freedom and consciousness - to think clearly. Love the addition of Yoongi's friend Woosung adding lyrics to the song, and admiration for the late composer Mr Ryuichi Sakamoto - for this very intelligent, calming (to me) piece of music. There is apparently a short documentary on this, but unfortunately it is on a subscription-based platform and therefore not available on YT - I think. I agree with you as well with regard to Yoongi repeating that "it's going to be okay" line. He says something like that in his opening song, 'D-Day' (the song), as well - one of my favourite songs off the album because I just love the lyrics to that. Kind of a 'kick _ss' song to start the album. Empowering, somehow, especially to those who sometimes don't win (in life). Sorry, that's just my personal.opinion. I listen to this album often....basically because I need to. You know, to make life make sense. You take care! And thanks again, Roscoe.
Isn’t it a beautiful song 😢 Mr Sakamoto was someone Yoongi looks up to. He advised suga and I think he played the piano. See the video you can see them interacting. I love everything about it I cried when first heard it and cry still 🥺🥺🥺💜💜💜💜 the lyrics are pure poetry and beauty I feel it in every part of me!!
You have to watch the MV of Snooze! Just to see Yoongi rapping this song and Woosung singing his part. You need to read the lyrics ~ so impactful and comforting as well. Woosung's singing just hits my heart! 💜
Sammy (Woosung) said in an interview that when Suga sent him the demo for this song it was pretty much complete, just needing a chorus/melody from him. Suga was very smart to choose Woosung to feature in this because the tone, essence and narrative of this track needs a piercing, raspy and vulnerable voice like Woosung to really get that message through. Woosung's voice has its own echo and resonates in any room.
The collab of my dreams, super talented Suga and one of my favorite vocalist, Woosung of the Rose!! I Love them both, please react to HEAL, album of The Rose!💜
I needed this analysis, someone that really appreciate the small details behind this song, the piano, the lyrics, and the set of strings. This is so touching for me as an independent artist.
Thank you for your reaction, Roscoe. It is a measure of Yoongi's musical mastery and judgement that he can bring Ryuichi Sakamoto and Woosung into this gorgeous collaboration. Woosung's velvety expressive voice is a good foil for Yoongi's flow and punctuation, with the legendary Sakamoto's piano completing the ensemble. The doco "Road to D-Day" has a clip of the live performance and it is a compelling watch. Woosung has the stage presence to match Yoongi, and Yoongi playing the guitar at the chorus is an unexpected treat.
Another song added towards "BTS songs that I will cry immediately when it is being played" list. The list is geting longer and longer by now 😂 Love you yoongi. Thank you for a song, as warm as a hug 💜
back again to enjoy it with you, it is so much more moving and wonderful listening with someone else who also enjoys it. Woosung what can I say, what a voice.
This song brings me tears. Sakamoto met with Yoongi and i am so happy that they were able to meet before he passed. The video of their meet is worth the watching. Such a beautiful song.💜
The "Dream" chord sequence comes from a song on the Agust D first mixtape - So Far Away featuring Suran. This was re-recorded featuring Jin and JK. As an Army, I prefer the Jin and JK version. Enjoy!!!!! th-cam.com/video/iAea2MN-qyo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GrzsGviCpiXvx1bb
I'm suddenly thinking about this. Yoongi not only make a supportive song for his junior with the song Snooze, but he also try to change the industry that considerably toxic with all his craft and statement. We can see it clearly in Haegeum. The lyrics, the smoking scene, etc. It's like he's preparing and developing a better industry for younger generation by throwing himself into the fire.
Yoongi is speaking to those idols who come behind him. He's been so good promoting TXT (BTS' "Junior" group, also with Hybe), and all his members on their solo paths as he interviews them on his talk show Suchwita (which you should also watch).💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Snooze was written as a message to his juniors, the younger aspiring artists that look up to him for guidance and inspiration. He wants them to know it won’t be easy but he will be there to catch them. Both Yoongi (and BTS in general) and Woosung have gone through so much that they sing full of emotional empathy so they don’t have to hurt like they did 😢
The lyrics become even more hard hitting when seen in the light/darkness of Suga's DUI case in August/September 2024! As YoonGi himself has said elsewhere, as an idol you don't have to do much to have people blow things up out of all proportion...... The higher you go, the bigger a shadow you have beneath you. I hope that in his difficulties (most of which was due to backlash, having rested predominantly on lies and exaggerations.) The 16 times repeat -- is as much to calm and reassure himself, as the listener. Beautiful. You have enough time in that for your gathered tears to finally come out, let just a few tears run down your cheeks to release your pressure, then hear the chorus to take a breath and carry on.
Dream, I will be there for you in your creation 'til the end of your life Dream, Be generous, wherever you might be Dream, You will fully bloom, after all the hardships Dream, The beginning may be humble, but the future will be prosperous Dream
@Roscoe you just made me cry 😭 I found you and the couch when my dad suddenly passed away and life really really sucked!!!! But it’s getting better ❤️🩹 THANK YOU Roscoe and Couch 🛋️ potatoes 😘😘😘
This is my Go to Song when my heart hurts. Yoongi has a beautiful soothing soul and to think how much his soul has been battered and bruised. Beautiful x ❤
I’ve been a huge fan of Ryuichi Sakamoto since the Japan( David Sylvian ) days. Knowing Yoongi played with my hero just before his passing… I’m done. He made a love letter to one gone. This spoke volumes. The repetition of it will be okay/alright is EVERYTHING. No matter the loss… we must persevere for those who have lost their struggle is what I received.
Just watch the film Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence. Also check out the song Forbidden Colours. Ryuichi Sakamoto was, LEGEND! For me this song denotes the loss of a loved one. A close friend who couldn’t be saved.
This is my favorite song on the album. I've never heard the translation of the lyrics before. It's going to be okay. I love Yoongi so much and woosung's voice is so beautiful.
this is the most beautiful song of all times, i'm never tired of it and it makes me feel so many things. I'm beyong proud of what Suga has done, he's so talented and him wanting to collaborate with Sakamoto and Woosung just show us his musical vision and i'm living for it. Just three magical musicians together like them seems unreal tbh
Pls watch the live video with the sub titles; it's him performing with Woosung and footage of him meeting his idol, Mr.Sakamoto. It makes me want to cry every time I watch it. RIP Ryuichi Sakamoto, pianist, composer, song writer. The phrase he repeats 16 times is "It will be ok".
Hi, Roscoe. Somehow this popped up. Thank you for sharing so earnestly and honestly. I like how you broke down how you felt about the song - the lyrics, the music, the featuring of Woosung in the song which Yoongi instinctively decided on. You shared what and how it moved you, i mean. Thank you for that. I am here a year later, i know. But you're a good person. Very real in your reactions and sharing of thoughts, sincere, and down to earth. Catch you on the next one!
The "Dream" chord sequence comes from a song on the Agust D first mixtape - So Far Away featuring Suran. However, Suga re-recorded it featuring Jin and JK. While both are beautiful, I prefer the Jin and JK version! th-cam.com/video/iAea2MN-qyo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GrzsGviCpiXvx1bb
Dieser Song ist ein Traum, ich könnte ihn immer und immer wieder hören und jedesmal bekomme ich Tränen in den Augen. 3 wundervollen Solisten die sich hier ergänzen ❤❤❤
This is my favorite song, as I say in spanish "me apapacha", so please react to some songs from The Rose and Woosung soloist album. Some recommendations: Red Sour She's in the rain Phase me (solo album)
To me, this song is like Yoongi's version of RM's Everthinggoes. You're right! Everything is purposely and strategically composed and placed. Yoongi's fading repetition of " Everything's going to be ok" at the end is like a closing healing mantra as you slowly fall into sleep both literally and figuratively. GENIUS!
I LOVE WooSung's voice, it's the collaboration of my dream, no joke
Me too!!! They fit together soooo good!!!
I absolutely agree!!!!!
Me too 😊
He is in the band The Rose
Me too. It is an amazing song. Love it. 💜💜💜💜
Yoongi repeats "everything's gonna be alright" sixteen times, it's like a mantra... nothing is "free" in any of the BTS members... that's why I love and admire them so much
Woosung's voice had the same effect in my soul as Yoojin's in Wildflower. It's like a "puncture" in your heart but at the same time has the effect of a balm, that heal it
Balm. That is the perfect word for this song.
what do u mean nothing is "free"?
@angelawang4660 I wanted to say that anything has a meaning. No element in the song is there without a reason.

In ep 8 of Suchwita when Yeonjun and Taehyun were so thankful for his advice, Yoongi said "who else will tell you if we don't?"
That's why we call him, genius Suga.
This song is sooo good. Even without knowing the lyrics it just is so haunting and beautiful. But it truly touches your heart when you know what he is saying. I love Yoongi💜
Suga is a master story teller.
I agree 💯
This is my song in the entire album!!!! It hit me so hard!

especially the part he keeps repeating in korean, he is saying “it will be okay”
That dream part is from another song of his called 'So far away'.
And Woosung is one incredible vocalist.

@Roscoe you just made me cry 😭 I found you and the couch when my dad suddenly passed away and life really really sucked!!!! But it’s getting better ❤️🩹 THANK YOU Roscoe and Couch 🛋️ potatoes 😘😘😘
,,i love all the songs of Suga,,full of depth ,,but this one is one of my favorite,, indeed Yoongi everythings will be ok
Have seen the live of Snooze ..they are amazing
Amazing.....❤❤
Thank you for the reaction!
This is my favorite song on the album. I've never heard the translation of the lyrics before. It's going to be okay. I love Yoongi so much and woosung's voice is so beautiful.
Un poema ❤
This is the! Song!!
This song haunts me.... Yoongi really is a quiet genius ❤
💜💜💜
this is the most beautiful song of all times, i'm never tired of it and it makes me feel so many things. I'm beyong proud of what Suga has done, he's so talented and him wanting to collaborate with Sakamoto and Woosung just show us his musical vision and i'm living for it. Just three magical musicians together like them seems unreal tbh
I love your reactions 💜
Я Арми с 2014 года, а за эту песню Юнги отдельное спасибо 🥰, это шедевр, голос Усона, это что-то невероятное! Ждём продолжения этого дуэта 😘🥰🤗💜💜
Thank you for your words onthis music. This one especially, but all Yoongi's musics save me everyday. So one day my dreams won't be just dreams. 💜💜💜
For me it is one of the most philosophical works of Suga❤️ so much to go through with it and so much to experience 😔
Snooze makes me emotional every time
This by far is my fav song of the album and Young best album yet! Love the whole Album! I love wooing and this is such a awesome collaboration! Love
💜 Good Morning 😊💜
Esta canción me eriza la piel 💜
so love this collab 🤩
Великолепная композиция! Обожаю Шугу!!!! ❤❤❤
The "Dream" chord sequence comes from a song on the Agust D first mixtape - So Far Away featuring Suran. However, Suga re-recorded it featuring Jin and JK. While both are beautiful, I prefer the Jin and JK version!

Dieser Song ist ein Traum, ich könnte ihn immer und immer wieder hören und jedesmal bekomme ich Tränen in den Augen. 3 wundervollen Solisten die sich hier ergänzen ❤❤❤
💞
This is my favorite song, as I say in spanish "me apapacha", so please react to some songs from The Rose and Woosung soloist album.
Some recommendations:
Red
Sour
She's in the rain
Phase me (solo album)
Amo essa música. Suga é músico e interprete. Espetacular Ele vive para a música.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
THE BEST WAY IS TO WATCH THE COLOR CODED LYRICS SEEMS TO BE THE BEST TO GET THE CORRECT LYRICS FROM. Let me know if you try that
To me, this song is like Yoongi's version of RM's Everthinggoes. You're right! Everything is purposely and strategically composed and placed. Yoongi's fading repetition of " Everything's going to be ok" at the end is like a closing healing mantra as you slowly fall into sleep both literally and figuratively. GENIUS!
