Andy's too modest to mention, but he's won several cooking (barbeque?) competitions in the past. Even has his own "secret" rub. When Andy is cooking he has my full and undivided attention.
That’s not hard to believe. A lot of his cooking you can tell. It’s not just thrown together by anyone. He legit knows his stuff. And does it all from scratch. Seems very genuine and knowledgeable
I've said it before and I'll say it again, you are an excellent outdoor cook. Every single dish over the years has made my mouth water and even ruined a few diets I was on at the time.
@@idanceforpennies281 Personally, I have always found (most) dishes taste better when prepared correctly over a campfire. It's just that Andy seems to have an extra talent, as if perhaps he has some type of culinary background. Either way, more than a few of his meals have ruined whatever diet I was on at the time. Lol
@I dance for pennies So he does have previous culinary experience, that or he is self taught. Like I said, either way, his food looks delicious, and I am sure it tastes even better. Like those homemade beef tacos he made a while back, good Lord, I had to go out, get the ingredients, and try them for myself. Thanks for the info. Like I said, I had always suspected he had real experience, but I never knew for a certainty until now, thanks to you. 👍
when I worked in Italy as a cook, I was told by Italians that genuine bolognaise sauce used a mix of ground beef and ground pork. I always put some finely chopped smoked bacon in mine, but I think it is like many regional dishes, every family has their own recipe, which is of course the most authentic!
Omg that bolognese sauce and garlic bread looked more than great!! Make me hungry!! And it gave me an idea for my supper tonight!!! 😃😃 awesome video kent as always!! Keep them coming 😁😁👍
The amount of work that went into this is astonishing, I make spag bol when I'm too tired after work to make anything that'll take any longer than 30 minutes to prepare and cook and I don't have to film and edit it all at the same time! This level of dedication is just putting us all to shame 😅 amazing job as always Andy!
You're the man Andy !! Great to see you make this " Classic " dish the proper way, so often butchered by many so-called chefs.Tip of the day...Make sure your cast iron is clean and seasoned after using tomato ( acidity will kill your seasoning). Great job again. mmm I'm craving !!
I've been making red sauces for like 20yrs and have never heard anybody say "tomato passata". Thanks for that tiny bit of knowledge! Everything looked absolutely amazing, love this channel.
Oh my word, I am salivating throughout this camp cooking demonstration. The sound of chopping and sizzling of the vegetables and meat made me ravenous. Fantastic video...Just wish we had smell-a-vision!! Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to your next ventures.
I make my bolognese exactly the same way as you Andy; and my wife and kids have exactly the same reaction as you did - loaded with layers of flavour and infinitely superior to what you would buy in a jar!😁👍
Oh my days that looked unreal Andy, deffo needed a bottle of Porroni to wash it down with 🤣🤣. Loved the birds chirping away in the background as well. Spring is coming in
One of the best gourmet cooking vids out there, campfire or not! You really out-did yourself! Love your content, and homey comfortable way of presentation. Keep on producing these great vids Please!!!
Hi Andy I love a good pasta dish once in a while. I have been practicing my campfire bread baking but mine does not compare at all to your amazing skills. Excellent meal Take care.
Thanks Clara, was good to have italian for a change.. I must be honest.. this one caught a little on the bottom, too much heat.. slow and steady is the name of the game.
Thank You Andy for another great video. Campfire cooking always tastes better than kitchen work. The ground isn't quite ready here for camping, but I'm am so looking forward to getting back out in the fresh air and cooking. Hugs from Minnesota!
I made this exact meat and sauce dish... and a ciabatta garlic bread today!! (Serving mine to my parents with homemade chunky chips!!) Many thanks for allowing us to join you!! TTFN
Outstanding feast in a peaceful woodland. Bread looks awesome. Home cooked food is the best, hands down. Glad I was raised around Southern cooks. Gives me an advantage, perhaps. Always looking for easy ways to create great meals. Love your outdoor kitchen!
Has to be the best outdoor and camping channel on TH-cam . Love your work , cant wait to start camping myself . You've gave me alot of inspiration 👏🙌🤙🍻
He is the best! Please also check out Claire (who goes out camping solo), she really is inspiring 🤗 Here’s the link to her channel: m.th-cam.com/channels/KBUeKsqzKWSxp4pahxljBw.html
I don't comment much but I had too, I watched you cooking Bolognese & Campfire Garlic Bread Loaf and thought he is camping and cooking this .. There is no reason I can't make this at home in my kitchen, well that was about 1 and a half years ago. And I have been making your Bolognese and Garlic Bread ever since. My husband loves it no more jar spaghetti sauce or store bought Garlic Bread in our house. Thank you
I should of been your complementary mate that tags along and eats the leftover food while trying not to shake the video taking while eating lol… what a treat that looks like. I’m gonna make this next weekend in my kitchen but when I’m done making my bushcraft hut/shooting range hut I’m gonna make a full split chicken dinner from your recipient and compliments
Andy, you always do such a great job with your cooking videos! Who says you can't eat well while out camping!! It's not that hard, and when you're out camping, you have all the time in the world to get everything ready and done! I usually do just open a jar, but I use that in place of the passata you used. Add that to all the other great ingredients you prepared and a jar of sauce becomes magically superior!
I always make my bolok naise from scratch, I like mushrooms in mine and some paprika. Although that's how my dad showed me as a kit. Looked lovely! Thanks
Commenting as a chef myself 10/10. Commenting as a hungry viewer watching this at 3am, I'm about to chew my leg off! Excellent video. Good skills, well presented. Thank you.
Hi Andy, Fantastic cooking with better results that you find in most Kitchens........ including mine😊we were all tasting that wonderful food with you, well done, Cheers Ian
Very nice Andy, if only there was smell-o vision on the video. What you made looked very delcious. I really enjoyes how everyrhi g was homemade and not jar dumped. Cheers Andy. Thanks for sharing this.
Andy's too modest to mention, but he's won several cooking (barbeque?) competitions in the past. Even has his own "secret" rub. When Andy is cooking he has my full and undivided attention.
Tbh that's really believable 😃.
That’s not hard to believe. A lot of his cooking you can tell. It’s not just thrown together by anyone. He legit knows his stuff. And does it all from scratch. Seems very genuine and knowledgeable
I love camping but especially watch Andy for his awesome cooking. Doubly happy! 👌
My husband loves his bolognese sauce and garlic bread ... :)
Is Kent’s name really Andy?
thats the most accurate ragù i saw on youtube and made it at camp as an italian i approve it
Thank you very much indeed :)
I've said it before and I'll say it again, you are an excellent outdoor cook. Every single dish over the years has made my mouth water and even ruined a few diets I was on at the time.
How can you make a meal better than most restaurants out in the wild? That's why we watch this channel, I guess.

@@papabear9481 Andy has actually won local competitions in barbeque. Barbeque is American, but its also very popular everywhere.

I do the same and add smoked bacon. It adds another layer of flavour.
It's amazing to me that when you become a camper, somehow you end up a fine chef.
the garlic butter filling the bread gave me shivers
These videos are some of the best, most honest and supple on the internet. Suits you young man.
Omg that bolognese sauce and garlic bread looked more than great!! Make me hungry!! And it gave me an idea for my supper tonight!!! 😃😃 awesome video kent as always!! Keep them coming 😁😁👍
Thank you Melissa, nice to do some italian for a change :) Enjoy if you make it

You should do a cook book. Looks delicious as always.

Finally!! Someone who understands the measurement system that includes the “glug” looks amazing

Thanks very much buddy :) I cleaned and reseasoned all the cast iron after this :)
I always feel hungry when u watch you show. An awesome mix of bushcraft and gourmet cooking.

Excellent video Andy. This is one of the many recipes you have prepared that I want to try. Thank you for sharing!
Gourmet Italian food prepared under primitive campfire conditions? What a great accomplishment! Great video too.
Probably the best looking meal I've ever seen cooked on a campfire. Superb job!
Oh my days that looked unreal Andy, deffo needed a bottle of Porroni to wash it down with 🤣🤣. Loved the birds chirping away in the background as well. Spring is coming in

TWO WONDERFUL RECIPES and some useful techniques, particularly about getting the garlic herbed butter into that BEAUTIFUL loaf of bread!
This guy deserves a nomination
That might be one of the best camp fire meals I’ve ever seen. Love spag bol and normally cheat with left overs when I’m camping
That looked real good. Amazing how much you can do out there. The bread drove me crazy. Bet it smelled amazing!

Ugh ! I have to always eat before I watch your videos ! Great meal you prepared out in the woods!👍👍
It's sucha rich sauce - full of flavour!
Not surprised, its got a half a bottle of red wine in it!!! :)
Great tekkers on the soffritto with an Opinel. Having lived in Italy everyone has their own ragu recipe, but low and slow is always the way to go.
The way you made that Andy I could almost smell it and taste it job well done
It amazes me what you can do with a camp fire. I don’t think people understand how hard it truly is to cook of it. Man I am so hungry now.
Thank you Brad, it sure has its challenges to over come
What a great cook you are...I swear I could smell that bread baking! 👍
I love making bolongese, can't say I've ever done it in the wood though. Well done!
Outstanding feast in a peaceful woodland. Bread looks awesome. Home cooked food is the best, hands down. Glad I was raised around Southern cooks. Gives me an advantage, perhaps. Always looking for easy ways to create great meals. Love your outdoor kitchen!
My mouth was watering by the time you had plated up!
Seriously impressive bit of cooking. Could almost taste it myself.
You just keep turning out gold content! Keep it coming bruv!
If you have burdock there try batter frying the stems. Par boil first and strip the heavy veins first. Delishious!
