The plottwist I'm waiting for: Anna's teacher, Nicks mother, could be the May uncle Ben is referring about. Her background story: she divorced her abusive husband when Nick was a little baby, studied to become a teacher so she could provide for her family. They were both unhappy in love, and seeing each other again just let the real love between them spark. Anna not only got a good and caring mother, uncle Ben a good wife and last but not least Anna and Nick would become siblings. 🎉❤️

@@saiga5476 It's Bubu and Dudu in their universe is everything possible ❤️, I know it's unlikely but it would be a nice plottwist. In this way they don't have to introduce new characters. Besides that, uncle Ben could have lost contact with his former love out of agony. Anna and Nick can still be meant to be lovers, they would be stepsiblings. And the solution for nick being born earlier? Nick is the lovechild between Uncle Ben and May the teacher, she had to marry the other men because she was forced by her family to spare them the shame... But then Nick and Anna can't become a couple, or they can, there is in real life much examples of dating and married cousins.
Again unlikely to happen, but it would make a good story with a lot of drama, love and happiness ❤️😇🤣🤗❤️
@amaryllisnuytten no offense, but that is not my idea of a good story. Why? Because of something called Occam's Razor. I'll have to over simplify it, or I'd by typing pages, but basically, as relates to story telling, the fewer justifications you need to make for a story to make sense, the better because it requires less suspension of disbelief. Your scenario not only requires multiple justifications, but rather big ones too. It is not logical that Ben would have lost contact with May to the point where he wouldn't know she had a son, but then later found what happened over the last six years of her life without learning about Nick if he was her son.
If you want to test this, put yourself in Ben's place. You're obsessed with May, you've been in love with her for over a decade (probably more) you lost contact with her for years and didn't hear anything about her. Suddenly one day you meet someone who can fill you in on the last six years of her life because that's how long ago they were introduced to her. Are you going to think to yourself "Well, okay, I'll leave at that?" No, you are not. Remember, Ben himself said that May is to him what Bubu is to Dudu. Which means you'll pump that person for every bit of information you can get, and you'll track down May if it's the last thing you do on this earth. And remember Ben hasn't had job in a long time, so he clearly had the time.
This is how you tell stories. You establish everything you can about your characters, you make them as real as you possibly can. Then you come up with a story or scenario and literally drop the characters in. If you've established the characters in your mind as well as you should have, the story writes itself. Everything you have to ask your audience to suspend their disbelief, that's shoddy story telling (except for fantasy, science fiction, and other genres where suspension of disbelief is part of the genre itself).
