Thank you so, so much for this video. I have a similar machine, and I always had trouble with thread tension which didn't seem to be adjustable. Now thanks to your video, I realized I've always threaded it the wrong way - I never saw that little hook on the front of that spool...
omg THANK YOU. I found a singer starlet in a 'junk shop' and was losing my patience trying to follow the diagram inside the case. So helpful to watch someone do it.
2:04 when you started to wind the bobbin sounded like your needle was also moving - couldn't see with the camera angle. You need to push button on inside of rightside wheel to disengage needle action while you are filling the bobbin...plastic 66 only. Push again to sew or turn wheel as you did.
Merci beaucoup j'ai fait exactement comme vous avez fait, et j'ai la même machine exactement la même marque le même modèle mais ,ça ne fonctionne pas à mon avis elle a peut-être un petit problème, je n'arrête pas de les remplir à la main
Okay so I'm pretty sure I threaded my singer correctly , but for some reason it messes up and the foot comes off. U think u can help me out? I remember what my mom taught me but I can't seem to figure out why it's doing what it's doing.
Can you clarify the foot comes off comment. Is the thread coming out from under the foot or is it breaking? I’ve had issues with the metal bobbins where the thread catches on it. If you are using a metal one, try switching to a plastic bobbin.

I never know what new thing you will be showing us. Reminds me of the one my grandmother had as a kid. Good memories. Thanks for sharing!
It’s old school, I have some upcoming sewing projects that’s I’m going to chronicle. Making my own camping gear!
Thank you for teaching, now I know how to thread my newly purchased Singer Mon Ami.

Thank you so much, my sister gave me this exact sewing machine and I did not want to ask her for help to thread it lol
Very helpful as I hadn't used my machine (Genie) like this in many years. Was able to repair hole in trouser pocket.
Glad it helped!
I had problems pulling the loop getting loop but I though the metal bobbin works for me. think you you have solved it thank you

سلام و عليكم اخي عندي مشينة تع خياطة سجار354 متحبش اتخيطلي بدلتلها برت كنات و شكرا جزيلا ربي جزيك
Your metal bobbin is not for that machine. The machine ONLY uses Class 66 bobbins.
Any idea what bobbin it uses? The machine I got has one that does not look the same as yours
I used the Class 66 singer bobbins, plastic. I find the thread catches on the metal version.
