Gaethje can keep saying what all fighters try to do. Not exactly unknown knowledge he says a lot of things but once he’s in the cage and after, I will try harder I gave that guy the hardest kicks ever, but still looses.
All I see is a champion’s mindset. Ngannou, usman, gsp, and other champs have these mindset, where they seem unstoppable mentally. Do not mistake their confidence for lack of respect to other fighters.

That Tony fight was the darkest fight I've ever watched. You could literally hear Tony's face breaking as Justin threw his full weight into those savage punches. To see Tony's life being shaved before my eyes in that brutal manner broke my heart and it will never recover.
I expect Charles to win, but if he underestimates Justin's power it will be his own downfall.

for the sport as a whole I hope Charles wins, and he does so through mixed martial arts. Justin and Dustin both just want to stand and box or kickbox, thats why Khabib ran through them. Guys like Charles, Islam and Beniel is what the sport needs, the mixing of the arts.. i see Tony gets it and has finally gotten back to his wrestling roots, hope it goes well for him too.

Oliveira needs to be tighter with his stand up defence this fight. He has great will to get up but he can't afford to take the same shots from Gaethje that he did from Chandler or Poirier. Good luck to both men.

Not forgetting how many times Chandler wobbled Gaethje as well, same as he did knocking Oliveira's head about in round 1. So Gaethje's comment was just very weird and tone deaf given the context of their fights with Chandler.

And, you're not actually right about round 1. Yes, the last 2 minutes were incredibly dominant by Chandler, but Oliveira was still on his back and very much in the game. Chandler didn't have Oliveira dead to rights, dropped twice after being chased around the octagon, on his hands and knees, defenceless while getting his face repeatedly busted until Herb jumped in. But that's what happened to Chandler and that's why, in the context of Gaethje's bizarre hypothetical, I made that analogy about no refs, based on the facts of what happened.

I think I understand why Justin has the best striking in this division, his punch is supported by his amazing body posture and weight distribution while he moves his whole body.
His coach trevor Whitman has great understanding of striking michanics from moving with punches to weight distribution, you should look him up and see a couple videos for yourself, the guy is a complete master.

I can see Justin trying to take out Oliveira's legs then going for the kill, but with Olives' pressure and clinch game, that might be tougher to do. Otherwise Oliveira gets a round 2 submission.* Oliveira will pressure early, he will clinch and knee the body, if he’s smart he’ll use long range front kicks to the body and that long left hook. He will use grappling to drain Gaethje quickly. I think Gaethje has better scrambles than Dustin, and if Charles takes his back, he will at least try to slam him. Gaethje’s best chance is an uppercut or left hook. I don’t expect Charles with have weak legs, I don’t see the leg kicks affecting him much.
This is not a bad take but I highly disagree with your comment about the leg kicks, they are going to make a huge difference if he gets enough of them off

People think it's gonna be easy for Charles to get Justin on the ground just cause Khabib did it. It's not gonna be that easy
I’ve been saying that and people don’t want to hear it. Justin has amazing takedown defense and Charles Oliveria doesn’t have anywhere near the takedown threat and takedown skill Khabib had or ever will, Khabib was on a different level. And then they’ll say Oliveria doesn’t need takedown he’ll just get Justin’s back on the cage but Justin has great lateral movement to get away from the cage. So it’s biased to go off the Khabib fight when he is the only one to really easily take Justin down and keep him there. And people forget Khabib missed a couple times trying to take Justin down in the first round, if he missed you think Oliviera won’t.
Fact, not disrespect to The Champ, but Justin' take-down deffence is so underrated after Khabib' fight. Oliveira is very good fighter, but Khabib's pressure is something else

I'm so excited for this fight I'm a true Justin fan wether he wins or loses he brings it everytime and every fight he does is exciting. I'm pumped! I do agree with Charles the lightweight division right now is the toughest division imo. I still remember the first Justin fight or first two i should say. Rveryone is like nope he's taking to much damage he won't last he probably won't fight much. Look at him now clearly that wasn't rhe case. He also got smarter he brings it but is a bit more calculated on how he does it now. Still as exciting but more timed and calculated really love what's happening lately in this division super exciting. I do hope ufc gets some new blood soon we need to see it in alot of different weight classes. Fights like thede are amazing but I have noticed lately ufc feels like it's getting old. For it to be only the time it has been on which yes is long but nothing like boxing and for people to already go ok it's repetitive. Sleuthing needs to happen!

Gaethje doesn’t have that kind of power. In fact, nobody in lightweight division does. Conor of his prime could knock opponents with single punches. I feel Olivera mixing things up can screw Gaethje’s plan.
Oliveira will soften him up in the 1st round with knees and front kicks to the body and then take him down and strangle him in the 2nd round. Gaethje will land some leg kicks though.
