Hikaru couldn't have claimed the draw when the commentators thought he could, because after c7-c5, the e.p. right existed. The position was not the same as the two similar positions later. Nepo tells the judge it is his intention to repeat the position for the third time, and the game ends there: under the FIDE Laws the move that repeats the position doesn't actually get played if the guy who's about to play it is claiming. I hope he win this event. If any older player win this tournament and later win championship and become world champion. Won't be considered champion because everyone knows magnus is outplaying them for whole decade, but if Gukesh win this event, and win the championship then there won't be that debate and I think magnus will come back to prove that who is the final boss.
So the "best" player has to go through a process right? Vishy did that. Magnus did that. Titles and qualifiers have to be won. Or "best" players in ur opinion should simply be awarded the titles on a platter because they think they are the best? I think all the remaining three think they are the best and should be the next champion. How to decide then? Through a process right?
