My thoughts on the game, Avery finally really looked like he was playing within himself, playing HIS game. He ran when it was there, and threw when it was there. His best stats happened after his pick in the game, which shows a lot of maturity and mental progression after just last week. I was a guy that pumped the brakes on all the Heisman talk this year, not because i don't think hes that caliber a player, but because the learning curve to pass the ball at thos level is just insanely high. I felt he needed a chance to progress at his own pace, i knew he'd get there, but it takes time and experience. And hes got so much more potential left.
Dj has been incredible. He's the solid foundation of the offense. The guy they can all rely on to keep the offense going while theyre figuring out the pass game and Avery finds his footing. He has a lot more "slash" to him than I've given him credit for, much credit to him.
I've been frustrated with the defensive secondarys slow starts, but they've also consistently made good adjustments and comr up with big time plays. Would like to see them come out stronger in the 1st and 2nd quarters.
Coach Riley i think is getting better play calling. It could be that some of that has to do with our ability to execute certain plays, but i believe i saw a lot more crossing routes and passing the ball more in between the hashes, taking advantage of the entire field and not just portions of it.
Would love to see some speed option and triple option with Avery, Dylan and DJ all in the backfield, i think that would be an absolute nightmare to defend. Would also love to see more QB draw out of a pass formation, maybe pull a lead block , since they seem to like running the ball on 3rd and long, why not at least spread the defense out by showing pass?

I think there’s 1000 different things this offense can and will do, but Avery started having more success when they simplified things. I think for now keeping it simple is a good option! Thanks for the detailed comment though my friend!

Big step this last weekend and we still know that they haven't reached their potential. Now to show they can do this on the road. I believe this week off will help them fix some of the issues they have shown. Very excited about this team, they can go a long ways. STAY FOCUSED is their number one challenge. GO CATS!!

I think you’re spot on! Having the bye week hit right now is honestly perfect timing. Thanks for watching!

I’m not sold on BYU yet. It took a bunch of low percentage plays and KSU being shell-shocked to get the win. Their FR RB is a beast, but I’ll save the accolades for BYU after they play other tough games. They’re fortunate that they get some tough teams at home in that altitude. Outstanding bounce back game for our guys - Gundy is the coach I fear the most in the Large Dozen… dude can be incredibly crafty and unpredictable. Looking forward to the game plan vs. the Fighting Primes of Colorado!!!

Yeah I don’t think BYU is all that good but their schedule isn’t too tough ahead to be honest. Would love a chance to play them again!

I believe that the best thing would be is to let Avery Johnson be both player and offensive coach.. He has such a great feel for the game and is mature beyond his years. If you let him do this he will continue to score five touchdowns a game no matter who the opponent is.

Yeah, I don’t think I agree there on letting him be the one that decides the plays because he’s only in his 6th start. That being said, when the offense was simplified it was much more effective! They’ll keep developing it and improving each week! Thanks for watching!

Eh, I’m kinda over it. The BYU loss stings regardless but they got us that night and would’ve done the same to anyone in the league. Lesson learned, focused ahead!
