58 years later I'm using the inspiration I learned as a child from Thunderbirds to create my own flight sim based movies.
One of the major influences of my life, in fact which still entertains.

I once had the privilege of meeting Alan Pattillo. It was a couple of years before he died and he was doing a Saturday-morning crossword in a cafe.
They say you should never meet your heroes because they will always be a disappointment. I am delighted to say that he was a complete delight with this tongue-tied fan
I told him that his editing of Trapped in the Sky was right up there with the best Hollywood action movies, and probably better. He accepted the compliment graciously.
    Proud to be a fellow-Aberdonian.

Alan, many thanks the hours of pleasure you helped provide. I have always watched Thunderbirds when available, and it can still leave a big grin across this old Boys face.

The superbly talented crew that the Anderson's had on all their series, deserve a special award, for bringing to life, what Sylvie and Gerry Anderson dreamed up, to entertain us all. 👍👍 10⭐

Oh yeah, when I first heard the countdown on TH-cam I cried. Damn, but Thunderbirds is one of the five best shows of the Sixties.

I'm surprised no one has ever noticed the anomaly with TB1 launch sequence. When Scott boards the craft, the wings are in line with the sides of the tunnel. However as it completes it's trip to the launch point, the wings are now facing the length of tunnel. Meaning at some point it has rotated 90°s. Watch it and see.

Those "boarding" scenes were fascinating when I was a tot. The puppets looked like little flexy bobblehead corpses shooting backwards down the ramps

I think he was right in saying it was at its zenith, the logical move was to the UFO series and the models there were even more realistic.Only the computers on UFO really date it, but they were likely second guessing the technology. Gerry Anderson and his staff were in the genius category, certainly America had nothing like his productions.

Today 12 08 2023 I went to Yorkshire Wartime Experience where one of the displays was army photography. There was a photo of Sgt Harry Oakes who became a special effects camera man working on Thunderbirds Wonder if he filmed any of the scenes we see here.

Imho the editor of this interview is the one who got it wrong, alan says ' little scot ' which doesn't happen in tb2 launch. little scott is on the moving gantry for tb1,
and scot is also in his uniform from 'normal dress'.
and then he talks of virgil.
