Truly inspirational video. As an ex-gymnast turned novelist writing mysteries set the gymnastics world, I couldn't resist inserting a Cirque scene at your IHQ Studio E in Montreal. I eat these videos for breakfast. They are my high-fibre mainstay. You're doing a great service offering these up. Thank you!
So glad they showed the technical side! So many times people get caught up in just the artist and they forget that behind all of that are huge crews of dedicated people working non stop to help produce the magic.
It's one of my favorite parts, seeing all the behind the scenes work and magic to make it all happen. I almost love it more than the show! There's something very VERY magical about seeing it all from the behind the scenes perspectives.
I am not one for actually seeing shows in person BUT Cirque is the one show that I would sell a kidney to see in person! The technical skill and artistry to create such a beautiful show is so mesmerizing to me amd deeply appreciated.
I highly recommend seeing a show in person. Not only are the visuals amazing but the energy is beyond description. You will never forget the amazing energy that you feel from the performers and the audience.
I love how this young girl in the purple shirt is doing a handstand with the young boy is standing on her back and the two adults there are just sitting there watching, "Yep! This is the "everyday" life of Cirque du Soleil!" Loving it! First time I heard about Cirque du Soleil was in my hometown, Boston, MA. Ever since then I became a fan! I have YET to see them and I'm a fan!!!!
Jabberwotchi coming from a cellist, you get used to those working with you so for example if you are playing 5 shows a week after the first week you’d be able to understand the unspoken language that musicians develop and being able to play off of each other becomes second nature.
So glad these artists transition into backstage technicians. Definitely wondered what happens when their bodies can't sustain the level of performance anymore. :D Loving the community atmosphere~
I just came back from the kurios show in Washington D.C and I’m absolutely obsessed. It was impeccable, like nothing I have ever seen in my life before. The soundtrack, the artists… It transports you to the circus magic…. Absolutely stunning!
I've seen 3 of their shows. Will see every show that comes to my town. Worth every penny! Seriously hoping and praying they can survive the pandemic. Just found out Alegria will be coming in the fall in my town! I will sell a kidney to see that!
I used to travel and train with my dad and cirque… so I’m here for nostalgic purposes. I was born into the circus life and lived it into my 20s. Unfortunately, because of family dynamics, I wasn’t able to fully thrive in the way I would have loved to, or in the way I saw other circus kids do so. Now many years later, I am still thankful for the memories I did get to make and still very in love with the magic of Cirque Du Soleil. Trying to imagine a place for myself in the creation side, like directing or casting… could be something of passion for me?! Anyways, thank you for sharing these videos, they are truly a source of inspiration!
To me, this is what I Invision when I think of a world with no hate, no discrimination....all these wonderful people and different parts of the world they come from, living, working, eating, breathing as one.....nothing but love for all of them.....
I saw Kurios a few years ago and it’s absolutely incredible. Every seat feels like you’re right on the stage. It was my first cirque show and I’ve now seen a couple of their big shows in Vegas and I don’t think any of them can compare to the magic Kurios has
Kurios was one of the most interesting Cirque shows I've had the pleasure to witness. Saw it twice when it was in Chicago. Fantastic and everyone involved does a wonderful job. Thank you
Thank you for all the smiles and laugh!!!! I watched the Kurios in Sydney two weeks ago and it was simply amazing. So great to see your faces again. Singers, acrobats, the "cat" guy, hand man, beautiful tiny lady! Thank you everyone who is behind the scene, you are heroes as well! bravo!!!!
Yesss me too! Do they still support fur though? I’ve seen performers incorporate fur into their costumes and the fur industry is just rotten to the core, so I hope they do away with that soon as well
I had the honour of a backstage tour after the Kurios show in Knokke Belgium last weekend. Seeing the props, sets, costuming; make up and training quarters of the artists up close was just even more dreamlike than the show. I will never ever forget this treat, and my admiration for Cirque du Soleil grew tenfold seeing the incredible organisation of this beautiful travelling family...Goosebumps.DO NOT MISS this show.. it's an experience of a lifetime.
I worked concessions for this show a few years ago and it was such a cool experience as someone who grew up thinking I would never be able to even step foot near one of their shows. It really is like family and everyone is so nice and caring
Cirque du Soleil is the Greatest Show on Earth. I have seen them twice with my wife and mother-in-law in Fresno CA. and would go in a heart beat when COVID19 is not ravaging the World.
Seeing this remind me of my past that I use to work with Cirque Du Soleil when they were in Boston. The show that came was Amaluna and I use to work as an usher. I did got to see behind the scene such as the artist and performers each day, especially their family members. But, there were certain days that wasn't fun and pleasant. Sometimes we have to perform task that are no per say dangerous, but we must do it and remain vigilant. For example, in Amaluna, the lizard is juggling balls. In his final act, he's juggling 6-7 balls and one was lit on fire and if it fall off the stage, you must put it out with a fire blanket. Sadly it did happen to me and I had to cover it quickly, luckily though I didn't get hurt nor the audience. But it was reminder that you are given special tasks and must do it without hesitation.
I worked with cirque in Düsseldorf Germany a few years ago doing merchandising and vip hostess, best time ever. The artists were very interactive and we often went out on weekends to party. Work hard, play hard kind of thing. My colleague was married to one of the artists, nothing against relationships as a policy, though working and living like that can be hard for some couples. Ps: I used to live in Boston, small world 😉
Love-love-love the backstage Cirque de Soleil videos. I think I've seen all of them offered here on TH-cam. In this video, I liked finger puppetry the best. I don't think I've ever seen it before. Please more videos!
Thank you for sharing your secrets and lives. This is so much more enriching in many ways, than the incredible performances. To see the people behind the art is precious.
Got to say I always end up watching random videos on youtube while also listening to new bands I like like Delta Parole and that, is how I end up on this circuis video spree right now.
This was so beautiful and amazing. And Kurios may have been the best of the 4 full Cirque shows I've seen. Please bring another show to movie theaters, that's where I saw this one!! :D
The time, effort and technology in just setting up the show is unbelieveable, then there's the time and effort they put into developing and perfoming the numerious unbelieveably possible routines they do flawlessly. There isn't any word or words that can express what I seen or felt when viewing them.
I've seen several of their shows, but my first one, Cabinet of Curiosities, is still my favorite. The themes were woven together like a fine tapestry. Each segment gave a different visual experience which lifted you into another fantasy world. Beautiful choreography and music made the experience even more whole. The memory of that show still resonates with me today, several years after I saw it. I've been a fan ever since.
This was was so cool to have a behind the scenes look! I've loved cirque du soleil since I was a kid. I did gymnastics & competitive dance but never came close to their level! I hope to see the show live one day.
I love Cirque du Soleil, I started going to see it in London, Royal Albert Hall, and now I live in Adelaide South Australia, and still love your performance. I've got my tickets for next June, so looking forward to seeing you them.
I was going to audition for cirque Many years ago. They had a disclaimer on their site that if you have family, it might be difficult to go on tour so after meeting my husband I decided to abandon the dream. But perhaps their policy is different now
@Brisdad53 LMAO What's with your attitude? Back in the late 90's they didn't let you take your family members with you and made it quite clear you'd probably at most get 1 or 2 phone calls a week with them at best (this was before cell phones, and I was just a kid in high school) . I had two friends work for the company that explained that to me. One of them had 6 kids and missed his son's first steps. More than an "inconvenience" to some, but go off with your hubris. It's a circus, not a cult. And..."Bri's Dad", huh? So you got a kid. More to raising a kid than impregnating her mom, bro. You actually have to BE THERE for her. Hope you remember that. For her sake.
@Brisdad53 My family is a priority to me. My husband is my soul mate. Sorry if you don't feel the same way about the people in your life. Seriously, I don't understand why you're being so rude. Does it make you feel good to ridicule other people's life priorities? You sound like a nice person to be around. And a great dad, too.
