You see with these kind of situations I hope upcoming artist take tips ,sometimes a mangers role is to be the visionary for the musicians once you propelled as an artist with a manager backing you freinds and sometimes even family’s members won’t understand the whole role a manager really brings to the table this story really reminds me of the digdat and bouncer situation ,moral of the story don’t take a managers role for granted because you don’t know the effort they put in behind the scenes to make the musicians prosper , was a really great interview to watch
I bet this was Maf's Idea seems like he knows how to market. They could have a serious comeback if they make the right moves. And tbh with the backstory they already have, this was very smart. The music just needs to be crazy.
Ngl i was so sure that maf finessed these man prior, but its clear as day these man were just gullible & vulnerable tbh, they got twanged by an outsider. But at the same time seems like they wanted to do their thing without being boss’d around by maf so they just went with the break up anyway. Sad bcos that situation stunted their growth
Exactly ppl forget 2 things can be true at once. No they didnt get finessed but yes they felt maf was controlling. Unfortunately in a lot of situations the allegation (of finessing in this case) is enough to tarnish the name.
Maf is wrong to say the salary thing was the worst thing an artist should do - in reality its the smartest. Because he is 1000% correct in saying that if they split that money right there and then it would be gone just as quick as it came in. Salarying the team kept them afloat for the duration of their deal (about a year) plus they would have been getting show money. Show money is separate to label money too so no idea why ash was so worried that there’s no money. This is why i think its important that artists always understand SOME part of the business because it makes it easier for outsiders who dont know ur situation to get in ur head
Swear!!! Perception really is everything… yh long story short, they done Maf dirty still and tried to blame it all on him publicly. Humans are crazy and ungrateful, Lord knows someone would die if i was big maf
Not exactly but his percentage that he had in it isn't industry standard for a manager he took too much it's usually 20% he took 30 and was learning on the job
@@iffysd9864 What's wrong with being Plumber? It's a respectable profession (yes, it is a profession) that requires proper qualifications and licence. Most Plumbers earn more than majority of these artists and have financial security that they'd only dream of.
Thats pretty much most of the afroswing scene in general. They prob only knew the bait ones but couldnt capture the real essence of afro bcos a lot didnt care to learn which is why i think that era died very quick. Became very formula driven
By the sounds of it Ash and Lucas should have had a more experienced manager, rather than 'Big Maf from the youth centah'. Why the hell were they driving Mercs around? For what?
Well done ALL this was so needed. A honest sit down conversation.

Its fucked how they tried to ruin Maf’s name😕
Wait soo Maf didn’t actually finesse these guy? 😳
Not exactly but his percentage that he had in it isn't industry standard for a manager he took too much it's usually 20% he took 30 and was learning on the job

Wow you got to be careful who you call your brothers in this industry man. To think I thought Big Maf was the Snake
The Birmingham accent is jarring
I used to think this guy was the devil lol
Whoever thought if this idea is a genius 🫡
