Great reaction! Thank you so much for doing this. I agree with Sue Bird who said that this is the time for the WNBA like When Magic Johnson and Larry Bird came into the NBA and elevated it to new heights. Fifty years ago this year I married a woman who had played basketball through high school in a small town in West Texas. The girls were only allowed to play half court because they were considered not as physically capable as boys. Things have changed so much for the better since then in women's basketball. We have watched women's basketball for decades. I have always felt that women's games were so much more exciting to watch because the women were so much better at the fundamentals of the game. That is thanks to the men, like your husband, and the women who have coached these girls and women to be exceptional players who finally are being recognized for how good they really are. This is a great time for women's sports!

It breaks my heart knowing such a brilliant teacher of the game ended up with dementia. So sad. Also, yes, Candace Parker was and is fantastic. Thanks for the personal info and your connection to WBB. I'm a long time Iowa fan, from Iowa and a grad. Started following Iowa womens basketball in the 90's when C. Vivian Stringer was the coach. They were only on the radio then. Now they dominate the air waves. For those that don't follow until recently. Iowa had the Megan Gufstason before Caitlyn and have already reloaded for the years to come. Go Hawks!

In Iowa, we've kind of been conditioned to watch and appreciate girls/women's basketball for many decades now. I remember as a kid growing up we always had the girls 6 on 6 and 5 on 5 high school tournaments on TV and we watched. Iowa has been at the forefront of making sure women have a place in collegiate sports, with Dr. Christine Grant (RIP) who was the "Grandmother of Title IX" and Lisa Bluder's mentor leading the way. Proud of Caitlin and what she's accomplished and I expect her to continue to do great things in the WNBA.

I’ve watched this SNL sketch several times before this. I loved it! You’re absolutely right Britt, the women’s game is better than the men’s. The women’s game is played with a purpose, with strategy and gameplay. Cut, screen, create mismatches and take advantage of them. The men’s game is all flash, shoot the three or try to dunk. Little to no midrange game. It’s almost disgusting to see a 6 foot, 9 inch tall player dunk and stand there screaming about it.
Thanks for reacting to this! Kaitlin is a breath of fresh air. So is Dawn Staley. Hopefully these two, along with others will elevate women’s sports to a whole other level!

Not only did I not watch women’s basketball ten days ago, I didn’t watch any sports. Because a Caitlin Clark highlights video caught my eye randomly, I tuned into that final game with Iowa/SC, watched the WNBA draft in real time, and now know who Dawn Staley, Kamilla Cardoso, Angel Reese, JuJu Watkins, Rickea Jackson, Aliyah Boston (and more) are, and I’m learning something about the history of the WNBA and who came before. Women’s basketball seems to be the right mix of competitive and wholesome, and is just more interesting to watch to me. It’s fun to watch what May very well be a historic sea chance in Women’s sports.

I've started watching the ladies since the '70s when Title 9 required the re-introduction of women's sports, and my older sister made her varsity BB team as a freshman, and she could not dribble. Those were some long painful games to watch. My mom played BB in the early 50s and said their rules only allowed the women to dribble 3 times before they had to pass the ball.

I think it's awesome that girls are being coached with the same time commitment and intensity as the boys. It was cool to see the dad's (and mom's) put the same time and energy into their daughters when my generation was raising their families. I feel like 25 or 30 years ago many fans got tired of NBA and started watching men's college basketball .. I feel like there may be another paradigm change going on right now. I know people are critical of WNBA salaries - but there could really start being a shift in the $$$ IF the fans stick with the momentum. So much great talent graduated this past season - and honestly so much younger talent displayed during the final four (especially South Carolina)!

Which hasnt been often. And I haven't been into the nba much since the 90's/early 2000s. Unfortunately, the many comments we've heard from WNBA players suggest that's going to be an uphill climb. Instead of embracing the new players and the audience they can bring, the BLL (bitter lesbians league) is extremely resentful and has signaled that it isn't going to make things easy. Not a wise move.

@@gl2996 They do the same thing to rookies in every other sports league. Not sure why people get up in arms because it's happening in the WNBA. They're not going to just step aside and let Caitlin take over - she's going to have to earn it and that's just going to make it more fun to watch.

      @gl2996 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@davidcollins897 Well, yes, a certain amount of hazing is normal. But that's not what this is. Resentful women started coming out of the BLL (the Bitter Lesbians League) to badmouth her beginning when she started to sell out arenas, and again when she got close to breaking the scoring record. And this year is a special case, too. This rookie class has a a massive, built-in national audience, but instead of embracing the possibility of finally having the attention they've never had, and all the benefits that come with it, like larger salaries, a lot of them would rather let their resentment ruin it.

My brother lives in CT and is a UConn Huskies women’s basketball fan. He says women are more fun to watch because the rim is ten feet up and a 7 ft guy dunking a ball into a basket is not entertaining. I watched Caitlin in the All Star 3 point challenge with Steph Curry and it was amazing. She tired out somewhat at the end but men have 50 % greater upper body strength than women. She was fun to watch and I then started watching women’s basketball at Iowa. Angel Reese is a beast, and I am from Chicago. To think we have two superstars coming into Chicago is a thrill. Caitlin doesn’t wear much makeup but she looks great with a little eyeliner and mascara.

She's the real deal. Sadly, some of current and former WNBA players have already made comments about how she won't be all that in the W. WTH!??? They should be hyping her up, because if she can draw eyeballs the way she did in college, they've got a chance to fly charter and actually sell some tickets. Typical women's college hoops teams play a better team-style of ball. Ball movement is beautiful. The current travel ball, make my youtube highlight reel trend for the men's game is ugly, and helps explain how many European players are taking top spots in the NBA. Dawn Staley is awesome. Loved her since she played at UVa.

Yes. Diana Taurasi is a jerk. Always has been finally, women's basketball is on fire and all she can do is say something negative. I feel Taurasi is jealous. It's taken years for women's basketball to finally have people excited to watch. And this knucklehead can't even enjoy the hype. Didnt like you at UCONN and don't like you in the WNBA. just a bad attitude.

I agree that women’s basketball can be more entertaining. There’s a focus on fundamentals, executing plays, and great shooting. Sometimes the men’s game can get away from that and turn into a fast break contest…or when there’s no defense played to avoid the rampant foul calls

Weekend Update on SNL is appointment television for this household so sadly I can say with complete authority that these Michael Chi supercut clips are from consecutive aired episodes. Lol. Not until you brought it up did I even notice that he wore the same suit. That is some observational skills. And hilarious.

Love her and what she's brought to the Univ. of IA and the NCAA. She needs to develop her left hand (always right side layups) and that hand in her face pressure is going to level up at next tier, but this year and last years.. and next years crew are going to be exciting to watch.
I taught 7 years at a smaller univ and loved the women BBallers... they came to class, came to help sessions, worked the work to get it done in the classroom and had the game to compete on the floor. The men ...had egos. College women BBall is a different flavor and fantastic when done well. I'm still not a buy in on the pro level but that might change... I only watch men NBA at playoffs so there is that... but this from a guy who remembers 6 on 6 girls HS bball... where 3 played only offense, and three played only defense and mid court was the dividing line.

As a long time subscriber of yours, I love your videos and I would have made it here for this one eventually. But I'm here now from @ChrisCobra 's channel, specifically to let you know that "You've been Warned" ! It's your turn to join the chain reaction of reacting to a video from The Warning ! I know you've seen them in the past, but I think it's been a while. I would suggest "Hell You Call A Dream" live from the Pepsi Center CDMX, or their latest new release "Automatic Sun" live video, with studio audio. Enjoy ... During that stream, the only requirement is to keep the chain reaction going and to have viewers comment on a reactor of your choice to do the same.

Che did not know she was going to be there, Jost set him up for that. You can tell Che was surprised. It's because Che had set Jost up before to make him look racist so Jost wrote the Apron joke to make Che look sexist. Then enter Caitlin, who as far as I know, did write her own jokes that she made Che tell. She's actually kind of funny and uniquely her.

I’m so glad you didn’t make this about race. It is the low hanging fruit that many have gone for. Caitlin Clark gives props to everyone. And she is the tide in women’s basketball. Not because she’s white but because she’s electric. She has that MJ like quality where every game seems like it’s hers to grab by the horns. And MJ changed the game in way no one really did as did Steph Curry. I only know of Zach Edey in men’s college basketball and that’s because he was there with Caitlin Clark for some awards. The women’s game is so interesting because there is more variety in playing styles. There’s a Flau’jae who’s really quick, a Camila who’s a giant in the paint, a Cameron who’s incredibly strong for someone so thin and a Caitlin who’s the deepest shooter and best passer-two things that are mutually exclusive in basketball.

women's b-ball is and has been so much better and more pure of a game than the men's game for a LONG time. the fundamentals are so much more emphasized and they know how to ACTUALLY take it to the hoop without trying to look cool, and they still know the ART of the MID RANGE JUMPER. Defense, Rebounding, and chasing the loose ball. THAT'S basketball..But the women's game is not devoid of great highlights or big impactful moments. its not a hot take, Brit. You are right. The ladies play the game better. I think the same applies to soccer/futbol.

Honestly, I hope CC does bring in more viewership. However, with that being said, I don't see one player bringing enough to the WNBA for it to start being profitable. The NBA has had to subsidize the WNBA for years, and the WNBA has refused to change to make the games more exciting, like lowering the rim so they can dunk. I am not saying the women aren't skilled players, but when it comes to the pros, it is a business as well.
