The oyster sauce we get in the grocery stores have a metric tonne of sugar and also thickeners. Maybe this chef uses genuine or higher quality products? I made the recipe with the regular sugary sauce i have access to, and it was great 🙂 But now you've got me wondering if this gluten free sauce might be better? 🤔
Megachef is the absolute best oyster sauce. It was a bit pricy, but it's worth it. No need to be frugal asian aunty/uncle about it! And also a good point about cooking the garlic. If garlic burns, you're starting over again!
Hey DTK, the pork cuts used in lots of Asian cuisines are usually so different from what I can easily buy or identify in Australia. Can you give some advice about what was used here or do a vid showing the cuts you would use for different things? It would really help my Thai but I am also thinking about my Buta no Shogayaki and Katsu.
Hi Steve, the meat used in this dish was Pork Loin, thanks for the idea of doing a video showing all the cuts of meat, will look at doing this soon, all the best DTK
Just curious, why use gluten-free soy sauce when you are dredging the pork in flour? Was the point to highlight that there is such thing as gluten-free soy?
