Exactly! There’s no uphill when a guy starts the foundation trying to undermine your confidence. It’ll keep getting worse if you entertain him. Even trying to ‘correct’ him is a mixed bag because most men try to absolve accountability (‘I was trying to flirt with you/joking so don’t take it seriously) to salvage the interaction. Or if they apologize, it’s for your feelings and not their behavior.
I’m glad it seems that as more people are aware of these tactics, less women are falling/playing into it. Fingers crossed that eventually it’ll stop being used when it gets to the point of not being effective at all.

For the first story, I think it goes to that men do not know how to make conversation, especially nonsexual conversation, with someone they find attractive. Somewhere in this Disney-fueled dating fantasy world, the idea of insulting a girl/woman as playful took hold, and awkward boys/men treated it like one of the commandments. Men who never learned that women are people you just talk to have it in their heads that it is cute to do this. IT IS NOT.

It probably would be hard for her to think logically about his actions toward her on her meds with the level of self blame she has.

I am only commenting on the 4th one because this sounds almost exactly like my ex: he is trying to poison you. Kill you. This isn't something light. He tampered with your medicine, he killed and fed you your pet, he kept feeding you slugs (which have a variety of parasites that can be FATAL to humans AND animals), he tampered with your food and why? Because he knew he could. It wasn't a mental illness, he is simply a monster and an attempted murderer and no I am not being dramatic. He will keep trying to "prank" you until he kills you then tell your friends and family how much you will be missed and all that noise. Stop feeling guilty, put him in jail, warn EVERY woman about him, keep him in jail, find someone you can trust to help with medication or hire someone who can be an aide to give it to you. Cook and watch over your OWN food. I had to keep a journal for YEARS of EVERY SINGLE ITEM I bought, grew, dried, ground up, made, chilled, frozen, blended, ect. At one point, I wouldn't eat at any restaurant I worked at because I wasn't the cook, only prep. Men like this are a serious literal threat to human life and will NOT stop until they are in prisoned or dead.

    • @lovelydeath04
      @lovelydeath04 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

I would also like to add: Metaldehyde poisoning only happens when you eat raw or under-prepared snails and slugs that have eaten the compound. This compound is found and used in snails and Slug repellent/pesticide. High amounts can result in something called "shake and bake" in dogs, where they will literally shake and seize unless treated and in humans, it can cause anything from irritability, sleepiness, convulsions and death in high enough doses. It is recommended not to handle while pregnant and if handled, to wear gloves. Do not ingest and keep out of reach of pets and children. Just in case someone wants to act as if this monster wasn't trying to actively kill OP.

    Uh, asserting dominance. Period.

    • @kikijewell2967
      @kikijewell2967 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Also THIS is how the patriarchy harms men: these men who are asserting dominance over women...are the men over whom _other men_ assert dominance.
The patriarchy - like a monarchy - is simply a few people (who are only men, hence patri-) dominate everyone else.
      They dominate other men.
*_These men don't see what's happening and simply work to dismantle the system of dominance!_*
These men _want to win at patriarchy_ not dismantle it!
They want to win, so they dominate women (and PoC.) That's how they make themselves king.
Doing this reinforces the patriarchy itself.
This is why we need to help men look upward at the oppression the patriarchy does to them, instead of looking down at how they can participate.
Equality is the enemy of hierarchy. They don't want equality because they want to dominate.

Negging has always been beyond ridiculous to me, but I think it boils down to a combination of innate immaturity, nervousness and the lack of anything of substance to talk about at any given point in time (i.e. lack of intellect).
There's just a lack of self awareness when it comes to negging. Young men really need to be educated to these things. The obvious problem with that being that young men these days seem to impulsively push back on any kind of constructive criticisms rather than actually listen to some helpful advice. Therefore they'll continue to fumble *hard* and repeatedly. Until they grow up. *If* they grow up that is.
*On a related note:* I *do* know a woman who negs guys for all of the reasons mentioned above. Her results vary from guys being immediately turned off, like "what the hell is wrong with her?" to guys [of course] finding it flattering. That latter making sense, because so many guys don't respond to anything appropriately ┐( ˘_˘)┌

It says on the post but i made a mistake & apparently i didn't notice while watching. This has been triggering me for more than a day now, as someone who had to live my adolescence with someone who my therapist said is probably a sociopath. Especially something in relation to one's pet is probably a typical experience of those who encounter sociopaths. I have been working on reprogramming my trust wounds and im worried this has set me backwards quite a lot. One of the most difficult wounds to reprogram and no it doesn't mean im just cautious around dating men it means i am paranoid and unable to have a healthy relationship. & this story in particular has made me so paranoid about food i can't enjoy even the food i have cooked myself without getting intrusive thoughts. I appreciate this channel a lot for teaching women to be cautious, not dissing at all if it reads like thar, but truly hope this message might reach someone whose recovery could be impacted.

Drake said Alex was a groupie for attending Serena's tournaments. The woman he's married to. A woman on Twitter said her husband is always on top of things, and she never has to worry, and she's grateful for that. Men called that man a simp. Negging: men's communicative way of passive aggressively disparaging a woman they are interested in, to "bring her down a peg". This will inevitably leave the woman worse off.
Nagging: men's dismissive and disrespectful term for women who try to communicate with them about the things men need to do as adults. Like go to the doctor, or get a job. If the man follows our advice, this will leave the man better off.

Unfortunately for him, I have very high self esteem. So I just gave him a frozen stare and asked him”If I’m so awful, why were you so desperate to go out with me?”
I’ll give him credit, he admitted he thought that if he demolished my self esteem, I’d be too afraid to turn him down because I’d think no other man would want me.
After our evening together, I never let him back in my life. However months later, he called me, vaguely threatening me if I didn’t go out with him again. My big brother, who knew about what this guy had tried, grabbed the phone and threatened HIM with something I won’t repeat. But it worked because I never heard from him again.
But the lesson, once again is nothing I, a woman, said, got through to him. He didn’t listen until another man told him to back off.

I will be listening to people and they say stuff and my husband will be like did you hear what that person just said... like nope! Idk dont care. My grandpa used to tell me to let stuff go in one ear and out the other and literally since i was a kid... thats what ive done. I swear we live in the matrix. Idk anyone else that can adjust the volume. I am hard of hearing though so that might play a part. 😂

You have beautiful red hair? 😍
I'm guessing you do because of the "no soul" comment from dumb kids.
I love South Park, but I do seriously hate that their Ginger episode caused a whole generation of kids to have a stigma against redheads. 😢

She has some serious mental, and physical, health issues, and he was tampering with her medication. In addition to all that, I think she already had issues from bad relationships evidenced by her severe self blame for everything. Plus I think she's afraid she's going to end up alone because she's such a burden to whoever dates her. She needs some serious therapy to know her self worth.

      Some food for thought:
Why do we as a society tend to focus on the victim, instead of the perpetrator? For example:
Passive voice (no actor): “She was being poisoned.”
Active voice: “He was poisoning her.”
Our media does this all the time, we’re very used to seeing the predator erased completely as we avoid the real issue and put an abuse victim under a microscope of blame instead….

Im sitting here, shocked about the food tampering situation. I understand ppl who say you should never let a man know your past cos its just ammo to them. This could have been worse. She has a history of mental illness, what if no one believed her when she said he was tampering with her food. They could just attribute it "one of her episodes."

That BF, who is poisoning his GF, needs to be charged with attempted Unaliving. Everything he is doing can and has negatively affected her health and well-being. If he "loves" her, his "love" is abu$ive and life-threatening. He is DISGUSTING and is going to continue to harm her if she doesn't leave him.

I sympathize with that young woman, but "He gives ASPD sufferers a bad name" ?!?! He doesn't give ASPD "sufferers" a bad name. That behavior IS the kind of thing that gets a person an ASPD diagnosis: reckless disregard for self and others, low to no empathy, criminal behavior, lack of regard of consequences, cruelty to animals... (Cruelty to women is not included in the checklist...I wonder why...) ASPD is just the clinical term given to diagnosed sociopaths. If someone has an ASPD diagnosis, you can feel pity from a distance but don't fool yourself into thinking they're "ill" and "poor baby."

I have autism, but for a long time I feared I had ASPD because people told me I talked like a robot and I had trouble understanding my emotions and expressing empathy, and I felt guilty for it.
The team who diagnosed my autism told me the very fact I was feeling guilty and distressed by the possibility of having ASPD proved I couldn't have ASPD, they do not co conceptualise morality, they do not feel guilty (on top of that I loved animals too much so ASPD was definitely out).

The _Loveable Loser_ & _Playing Hard to Get_ tropes in western media have completely warped the brains of a few generations of guys.
I also think some of these guys were the class clowns in their school years, and that worked for them back then. But, as the women that used to work on in HS matured, these guys failed to evolve, and this is the result.
*Edit to Add:* And then factor in that they get a lot of their advice on women from the manosphere... Basically throw gas in the flames.
