My mom and her family went to the Land of Oz in the 70s. I have a few photos. It opens up once a year still, but you have to make reservations way ahead of time and it's limited.
As someone living in Berlin it was fun hearing about Spreepark. Sadly enough I'm too young, meaning when I was younger the park was already closed but I remember my classmates talking about getting in there just bc the park looks so cool. It's actually sad that they closed it. At first there was a talk about re-opening it, someone supposedly bought the land it's on, but nothing! Luckily enough I was never caught walking around there with my friends, but even with daylight it was scary with all the tall grass and such.
ACTION PARK:: JESSII please please please action park was in a town called Vernon but it’s pronounced closer to Vernin. I grew up like 20 minutes from there. Some interesting facts. The park has been sold a few times over, some rides staying or going or being altered throughout the years. It’s also been known as Mountain Creek (with less injuries). There is a movie based on it called “Action Point” it’s a comedy but has some neat points in there. The owner essentially wouldn’t listen to no from anyone in the name of fun. That cramped loop de loop water ride didn’t only maul people while they were in it. It was set up to spit riders out into the lake. They of course didn’t calculate that well either and rocks would happen. Lots of broken bones. And yea they just let random teenagers run these rides that were just stoned the whole time. In the winter newer owners have made the hills into sledding slopes as well. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk. 😅

The fact that I actually learned about the Chernobyl explosion in social studies in Europe and then seeing this video and also seeing the town that was abandoned and the park in social studies and this video is crazy

The discovery island one is missing a story - discovery island has another death and the real reason it closed is because two brothers snuck on the island (well they stayed on the island after the boats all returned back to land) and after the park closed they spent 3-4 hours exploring the island before deciding they were bored and wanted to go check out more of Disney. So the 10 year old and his 18 year old brother decided they were going to try to swim. Mind you the 10 year old couldn’t swim but the bigger brother thought he’d be able to help him across on his back. The older brother ended up drowning and the little boy spent the rest of the night doggy paddling and attempting to keep himself afloat until he was found the next morning. The older brother sacrificed his own life to save his little brothers.
My brother is kind of obsessed with this TV show. It’s giving me the creeps. It’s like these airplanes with human faces on them and they made a toy in 1972 I think am my grandma owns a pack of those toys and whenever one’s looking at me at a table I always turn it around or I put it away and I hate touching it. I always feel like that it’s cursed, Jesse you have permission to tell this story
The gentleman who built Dreamland actually asked Walt Disney's permission to build a Disneyland in Japan and Walt said no because he can but The gentleman from Dreamland went ahead and built it anyway

The big reason why diacovery island is banned is because its infested with alligators because its abandoned. They dont want anyone else to die from being on their private property island. Especially after a toddler died in a nearby area from that same exact bay lake ocean in typhoon lagoon.
