Sometimes a very compassionate mother will take care of even the sickly ones, but just as often, there's very "survival-minded" mothers whose instincts don't account for the cushy life humans are giving them, so she feels the need to conserve resources and let the sickly die. Very sad, but overall it's good for the overall health of the species.
Enzo looked genuinely concerned and understanding of the situation and that really touched me. These animals have shown to have bigger hearts and more humanity than most people. Stay strong buddy, you've done great by all of your furry family!

SubsoilFox cats do have a whole goodbye ceremony, when a friendly cat dies. Espicially when they're bf's or brothers/sisters. It is equally to ours. For another example google for lions, elephants, apes and a multiple pet Home...
I'm not disappointed with this video. You're honest, and that's life. Some kittens just don't make it. Their mother knew they wouldn't survive and that's why she set them aside. Nature requires conservation of resources and the mother had three healthy ones to care for. That's just the way it is in the animal world. Thank you for sharing this with us.

She was a stray kitty but I took care of her, couldn't afford to spay her, so had to try helping her keep the kittens safe. I had actually seen a dog revive a little kitten before too because it was worried. I let her out of her cage and she ran over to the "dead" kitten and started licking her face. A few moments later, the little meow sounded and I couldn't believe that the dog was going crazy because she knew she could help and that the kitten wasn't actually dead yet. That cat survived to be an old kitty after that, but the dog sadly was poisoned by one of our neighbors at the time who got jealous of how healthy she was. The cat was heartbroken because of it and ran away after that. Enzo's a sweetheart for a tiger, though. He genuinely was concerned.

He was just 4 years old when someone killed him with his car. I feel somehow responsible for his death, I was living in another town and I'm torturing myself with the thought he would be still here with me if I would had been home. Parvo is usually the result of infant kitten death. I didn't know, but they can get this by drinking their mother milk. If their immune cannot support it, which in this case would be the weather, it will manifest rapid and kill them. Don't take this wrong, but it's better the kitten passed this early instead of adulthood because it could have had serious issues growing up. Not able to breath, anemic etc. Rest In Peace little ones. As an animal lover, I share your heartache.
LindaLee EVPeace Hard to say. Basically the kittens here got their immune from their mother, in which their immune system was protecting them from their mother. To care for a kitten, you can buy a pet milk formula from any grocery store, Walmart, Walgreens etc, and mix it to feed them. Otherwise you won't know if their immune system is capable until it is too late.

B.S. they would prefer to have life. Lessons learned in litters, sometimes others aren't receiving same amount of milk or can't find teat. Need to observe this difference so you can assist. You would need an infant animal bottle & rescue kitten milk. Or syringe from pharmacy.

Enzo was trying to wake up the kitten, hoping it would move or at least acknowledge his presence. but as soon as he realized the kitten was dead he gave up and decided there was nothing more he could do so he left. its a result of a parental instinct all animals have. so its likely any other animal would have the same reaction. (tamed/ domestic animals that is a wild animal like coyotes or bobcats (etc.) would see the lifeless animal as food) also I'm so sorry, this is really sad

My women’s friends boyfriend tortured and threw it out into the cold (MN) and made us believe it was hiding in the walls...she was found from meowing so loudly a neighbor found her and rushed her to the hospital but she had died on the way there... Aww I could tell that you love your animals. I completely understand. My auntie and her sons cat that I gave them about a year ago had babies a few months ago and sadly the mom passed away a couple weeks after having them and then the kittens died too. One after the other. But we tried so many different things to keep them alive but sadly nothing helped. We even tried giving them to a family friend cause his cat just had babies to and yet that still didn't work 😢🐾
Jess Wd my cat was pregnant with 4 but only 2 made it then my other cat Lucious, he was very young and very heathly and then one day, he had passed away. His older sister that was born a couple years before him was devastated she would literally go in the backyard, to his grave, and whimper and literally cry! R.I.P. You are really something special for these animals. All of them that have come to you the way that they have... I am an animal lover as well and can't even imagine what you go through to take care of all of these animals the way that you do. You are one in a million and most people wouldn't be able to do the things that you do the way you do it. The care you give is magnificent. I have said it before and I will say it again... YOU ARE NOT THE NORM. I I would strongly suggest people not try to accomplish what you have. It is extremely hard work and requires extreme commitment. They are all so lucky to have you.

Parvo is usually the result of infant kitten death. I didn't know, but they can get this by drinking their mother milk. If their immune cannot support it, which in this case would be the weather, it will manifest rapid and kill them.
Don't take this wrong, but it's better the kitten passed this early instead of adulthood because it could have had serious issues growing up. Not able to breath, anemic etc.

LindaLee EVPeace Hard to say. Basically the kittens here got their immune from their mother, in which their immune system was protecting them from their mother.
To care for a kitten, you can buy a pet milk formula from any grocery store, Walmart, Walgreens etc, and mix it to feed them.
Otherwise you won't know if their immune system is capable until it is too late.

B.S. they would prefer to have life. Lessons learned in litters, sometimes others aren't receiving same amount of milk or can't find teat. Need to observe this difference so you can assist. You would need an infant animal bottle & rescue kitten milk. Or syringe from pharmacy.

Enzo was trying to wake up the kitten, hoping it would move or at least acknowledge his presence. but as soon as he realized the kitten was dead he gave up and decided there was nothing more he could do so he left. its a result of a parental instinct all animals have. so its likely any other animal would have the same reaction. (tamed/ domestic animals that is a wild animal like coyotes or bobcats (etc.) would see the lifeless animal as food) also I'm so sorry, this is really sad

Sorry for yours too! The saddest part is that u have to go put him sleep yourself even if it's good for him, but it's sad to take life from someone. If he left naturally while sleeping, i wouldn't have felt so bad i guess. But that's life i guess.

i want you to know that dissapointment isn't even remotely close to what should and is being felt for the situation, you've raised and continue to raise countless amounts of animals and animals of all species at that and as you have said nature, unfortunately, can take it's course in the most cruel and unsuspecting ways but for that you have no control over so continue being such a great handler of these animals and i expect to see updates on the kittens that did survive :)

I no longer can have a cat. My women’s friends boyfriend tortured and threw it out into the cold (MN) and made us believe it was hiding in the walls...she was found from meowing so loudly a neighbor found her and rushed her to the hospital but she had died on the way there... I loved my tigress so much... wasn’t nothing but 5 months old...I remember she used to climb up my pants legs to my shoulders when the kids played to rough with her. RIP tigress.

Aww I could tell that you love your animals. I completely understand. My auntie and her sons cat that I gave them about a year ago had babies a few months ago and sadly the mom passed away a couple weeks after having them and then the kittens died too. One after the other. But we tried so many different things to keep them alive but sadly nothing helped. We even tried giving them to a family friend cause his cat just had babies to and yet that still didn't work 😢🐾
