The only complaints I really have is the lack of guidance due to how huge the levels are, I wish there were more quills placed in the game like notes were so I know where I need to go. Also lack of save and quit option. Relying on automatic saving is a bit of a hassle when it only activates when you get Pagies

My advice is to roll through the first three hoops, let go of the roll button when you reach the flat green platform, adjust the camera, then roll forward to catch the last two hoops. If you don't get out of the roll, you'll just roll all over the place and won't be able to reach those aggravating final two hoops.

Grant Kirkhope did beautifully in composing the music!!! if you listen you can hear parts of the opening world theme, mumbo's mountain, and gruntilda's theme (and many other pieces ) from Banjo kazooie!! you can also see #64 appear quite a few times in reference to the Banjo kazooie game for the N64! I love how the stay true to the original in terms of genre , gameplay/game mechanics, and quirky "voice acting" but keep the visuals and camera controls up to date

I don't personally find the voices to be annoying, as I find them to be exactly the same as Banjo kazooie. But for anyone that do hate them, a patch will be released in the upcoming weeks to allow you to mute them. Also they are making changes to the camera, adding in the ability to skip cutscenes and dialouges.
Sodomizer The only thing I have to complain is: Even Banjo Kazooie has a much bigger world. In Yooka Laylee you have 5 Levels and a main area. The 5 Levels are bigger, than in BK, but BK has 10 Levels and a main area, so it has much more variety. Yooka Laylee is still a really good game.

Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is, this game seems perfectly fine and exactly what it set out to be. Is it genre redefining? No, but it isn't the train wreck whiny teenagers insist it is.
Ok, who exactly saying that it is a train-wrack? People including numerous fans only consider it as underwhelming for many legit reasons, like generic design and story. But you always find some nostalgia blinded elitist who would rave over every minor Banjo-Kazooi reference including clearly bad solutions. If your still deciding then I'd say get it, I'm in love with this game and I got it because it reminds me of games from the 90's and it's a nice change from the first person shooters they game is challenging with lots to do and it's just a fun little game to play and feels rewarding

Daniel6254 There's too much dialog compared to Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie by far. It's also almlst like it's every syllable rather than word. To me, Laylee's voice is okay, but I was alittle unsettled at first since he sounded all whimpery and out of breath. Yuka's voice sounds super generic though, and almost like that jiggy god or whatever in Tooie since its all soft and almost echoey. I hate it...
This game has soooooo much fucking charm and character, i think it’s better than the Banjo games and if it was title Banjo-Threeie and the characters and collectables were replaced with those from the Banjo universe, people would say this is the best game ever... especially Nintendo fanboys. However in Yooka-Laylee the voices are 2-4 sound effects used multiple times per textbox when there is a lot of textboxes. I personally don't find them annoying however it is perfectly reasonable to get annoyed by them but not the voices in the Banjo-Kazooie franchise.
So, it wasn';t until recently that I found out to get the aiming sight press L3, cuz THAT'S not obvious... I usually forget that that's even a button.

You guys that hate the game for its audio voices can complain and whine all you like. This is how the games were done in the days of 90s platformers. This game is a perfect harken back to those days. By far it is the best one I've played since Banjo Tooie.

In Banjo-Kazooie and all other games in the series the voice bits used are an actual sentence but cut up and mixed such as "eekum oukum" and other voice clips from Mumbo-Jumbo being made from "come and have a go, if you think you're tough enough" with the only exception in the ip's history being "oomanaka" from Mumbo-Jumbo which is "ooh my knackers" put in as an inside joke for rareware (now rare LTD.) Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is, this game seems perfectly fine and exactly what it set out to be. Is it genre redefining? No, but it isn't the train wreck whiny teenagers insist it is.
Ok, who exactly saying that it is a train-wrack? People including numerous fans only consider it as underwhelming for many legit reasons, like generic design and story. But you always find some nostalgia blinded elitist who would rave over every minor Banjo-Kazooi reference including clearly bad solutions. And whine that "kids those days don't understand 90's" even if people did complain about same things even back then.

If your still deciding then I'd say get it, I'm in love with this game and I got it because it reminds me of games from the 90's and it's a nice change from the first person shooters they game is challenging with lots to do and it's just a fun little game to play and feels rewarding
1) I think I'm the only gamer in the world that doesn't play first-person shooter games lol
2) I'm a completionist, so I feel like this game will keep me going for a while (until they hopefully release a Sly game on the Switch).

Daniel6254 There's too much dialog compared to Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie by far. It's also almlst like it's every syllable rather than word. To me, Laylee's voice is okay, but I was alittle unsettled at first since he sounded all whimpery and out of breath. Yuka's voice sounds super generic though, and almost like that jiggy god or whatever in Tooie since its all soft and almost echoey. I hate it...
This game has soooooo much fucking charm and character, i think it’s better than the Banjo games and if it was title Banjo-Threeie and the characters and collectables were replaced with those from the Banjo universe, people would say this is the best game ever... especially Nintendo fanboys. This game is brilliant, how a 3D platformer on this gens console should be!!!
