This vehicle distinguishes from other medium tanks by location of it's engine. Front sided engine enables to have additional rear door which is very critical to easy getting on . Also front sided engine gives additional frontal protection. İt is better than Kaplan Medium Tank.
@HappyandAtheist you can actually buy around 15 of those but only 1 challenger for the same money. So it would be more relevant if you said 15 of tulpars and 1 challenger.
Yes. You're right! It's better protected than a FNSS Kaplan aka Pindad Harimau with higher STANAG rating. And still can carry 4 infantry via it's rear door at a pinch ! 👍
Rather stretching the traditional concept of the MBT; commercially, however, a very sound idea and one I hope (and expect) to see more frequent manifestations of in the near future. It won't solve every problem, but it will solve most.
People like it have soft armor blablabla hello its light tank? Germans shot stuarts also easly but do you know how effectively it was? For my part its better then those humwees or bmps also btr's. Why? Cuz if war breaks out they can build it massively
Usually south east asian countries with lotsa islands and no infrastructre or budget to operate mbt fleets. indonesia and malaysia comes to mind. another turkish firm, fnss made a similar vehicle, Kaplan(Tiger) and sold it to Indonesia, again with 105mm turret. here: www.armyrecognition.com/turkey_turkish_light_armoured_vehicles_uk/mmwt_modern_medium_weight_tank_fnss_105mm_ct-cv_technical_data_sheet_specifications_pictures_video_10412164.html
Typically I believe countries that lack heavy equipment logistics or have terrain that isn’t effective for MBT deployment would use them. Nordic countries for example.
Joshua Ryan Sweden uses the leopard 2, and I believe Norway does also. And Finland uses t-72s. My question is has anyone besides Thailand bought a light/med tank? I know Argentina has the TAM medium tank, but I know of no other nations who've actually bought any of these "tanks" based on IFVs.
Of course, it doesn't. Even older Carl Gustav Mk III would turn this thing into a flame torch. 120/125mm APFSDS would punch it thru and fly away behind the vehicle.
Not a Light Tank. An IFV with a recent Cockerill turret system on top of it. The well-trained crew in some old T-72M1 with ERA, any decent FCS, and ammo from the '90s would RUIN this toy anytime, anywhere.
that if the MBT got the first shot, old tank vision game is lacking. Well unless you got it upgraded that's whole different story. Again that comparison is funny, of course it wouldn't win head on against MBT, it's an IFV, you comparing a truck to a mini cooper who would win a head on collision contest. Silly

People comparing this thing to MBT had me rolling. It's a cheap, mobile fire power, not heavy armored pillbox.
Quick note here the K2 black panther mbt has a crew of 3.

He said "turret"crew number is 2 not vehicle. Total crew = 3
Yes that's correct Turret crew is 2 and the driver is in the main hull, you obviously don't know what your talking about

Ask Cockerill on massive amounts of turrets to be manufactured right away. Yes, you can build the hull massively. Hull only.
Correct. 👍👍
Does anyone actually buy light or medium tanks like this?
Trend in the market place, but does it sell?

105mm cannon is obsolete
Chinese vt5 has some competition.
Sounds like more a "Policing" Tank against local population rather than a Medium Tank or AFV!
1 shot 1 kill with atgms tanks are no longer good for protection anymore
zevesh active active protection systems :)
uhm thats why SAA is still losing tanks ? doesn't work ''kid'' go play your fornite
zevesh
Saa uses 2.nd ww tanks (like t62 and t50)
