Come shopping at a local, greek store with me in Thassos, Greece!
This store is named Makedonia can be easily compared to any local store Greece, however, was located at Golden Beach in Thassos. To be honest, the prices weren't too bad and we didn't feel like their was a 'tourism inflation' which you would get in Spanish, tourism stores. The shop included a variety of goods including crisps, fresh goods, cheeses, souvenirs, alcoholic goods, toiletries and more.
PRICES
During our visit, the rate was pretty weak at about £1= 1euro so I'd say for most items, you're looking at a 30% increase of price e.g. a packet of biscuits in the Uk is £1 so it is likely a similar pack will cost 1.30 euro- especially in these local shops.
OUR FAVOURITE BUYS
A HUGE watermelon- Watermelon is so refreshing and they're giant! These can last a good few days and can be used for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks!
Fresh bread
Crisps- especially in the evening after one or two drinks
Milka chocolate
Lemon fanta!
