➡️Where to go in the Dominican Republic?
The capital of Santo Domingo is one of the oldest cities in the New World, founded by Christopher Columbus in 1498. The Colonial Zone is a must-visit here, boasting cobblestone streets lined with 16th-century buildings such as the Catedral Primada de America (the first cathedral built in America). You can also visit Parque Colon with life-size stone statues of Columbus' ships, as well as Fuerte San Geronimo del Boqueron (Fort Ozama), which was built in 1502.
Other popular tourist destinations include Punta Cana, La Romana and Puerto Plata. Punta Cana is one of the most popular beach destinations in the Caribbean and has many resorts, golf courses and other attractions. La Romana is ideal for those interested in exploring its sights, while Puerto Plata has been a well-known all-inclusive resort since tourism began there in 1979.
👀What is worth seeing and doing in the Dominican Republic?
The Dominican Republic has something for everyone when it comes to activities. There are plenty of water sports such as kayaking, snorkelling and scuba diving in both saltwater and freshwater. On land, you can explore caves such as Cueva de las Maravillas, or go on safari in Los Haitises National Park to observe its unique wildlife or visit nearby waterfalls such as Salto El Limón. For culture lovers, there are museums such as the Museo Bellapart, which features artifacts from pre-Columbian civilizations, or the Museo de Las Casas Reales, which features items from colonial times to the present day.
⌛How long is the flight from Poland to the Dominican Republic?
It depends on the route you choose, but typically it takes around 14 hours and 30 minutes to cover the distance of 8,333 kilometers between the two countries. If the traveler chooses a non-stop flight, it will take approximately 11 hours and 55 minutes. However, travelers who choose a connecting flight may have to wait several hours at the airport before departing again. Thus, the duration of the trip largely depends on what options the person chooses to get to the destination country.
✅Interesting facts about the Dominican Republic:
    • The Dominican Republic is home to 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites - the historic colonial city of Santo Domingo, La Isabela (the first European settlement established on American soil) and Los Haitises National Park, home to stunning mangrove forests and limestone caves carved by rivers in time.
    • Also home to Mount Isabel de Torres, a 2,600-foot mountain near Puerto Plata that overlooks both sides of the island of Hispaniola, accessible by cable car or by hiking trails.
    • By far the most popular sport is baseball - so much so that the locals even call it "el deporte nacional" (the national sport).
    • Every year around Easter, hundreds of people flock to Higuey for the annual pilgrimage in honor of their patron saint, Our Lady of Altagracia, with ceremonies including a procession with traditional music and singing, followed by a candlelight vigil at her sanctuary in the Cathedral Basilica of Nuestra Church Senora de la Altagracia.
    • Another peculiarity of this country is that it celebrates Independence Day twice - once on February 27 to commemorate independence from Haiti and again on August 16 to commemorate the declaration of independence from Spain.

Bayahibe is not part of la romana, it belongs to Higüey.
