Wonderful prints ..Thankyou so much ..I am addicted to watching you work and after years of Gel printing I have never seen work that has inspired me so much 😮 ..just waiting for back to ease off and I am itching to get My Gel plate out .. 😊
Another excellent and beautiful addition to the series! Your process is very unique and effective in presenting a mood to the print. Thank you for sharing this!
Hi! I made a frame of thin wooden slats where the plate fits inside. The frame is about half as thick as the gelli plate. On the outside I glued two L-shaped plastic corner trims as guides which ensures that the image is placed correctly on the sheet every time.
Yes, the gelli plate is about 5 mm higher above the frame. But still I often get paint outside the picture, irritating! Maybe raise the plate a few mm more.
Love your beautiful atmospheric print 🙂Quick question: Is your DIY frame exactly the same thickness as the gel plate? Or is it fractionally thinner? The brayer doesn't seem to leave much ink on it. Appreciate any advice in making my own frame/s. Thank you!
Hi Angie! The frame surrounding the gel plate is about half the thickness of the gel plate. Otherwise, the brayer would have touched the frame when pressed down and rolled over the edges.
Thank you very much! I used Black and Primary Red Graduate from Daler Rowney, Titanium White from Panduro and Cadmium Yellow Basic from Liquitex. But I am sure almost any acrylic paint will be fine. 🌹
@@ericmartin4818 Yes, that can be a problem. But not so much when monoprinting on gelli plate, I think. When I paint ordinary paintings with acrylic, I often use «Jackson's Acrylic Retarder Medium» to increase drying time.
I just love your process. These are wonderful poetic images. Fabulous work. Thank you for sharing. Pam
Your beautifully executed monoprints in this series remind me of Disturbs' unique interpretation of Simon and Garfunkle's song, The Sounds of Silence.
These are truly amazing, i I get quite confused with layers so I'll have to keep practicing. I love these.

brilliant ! is the gelli slightly higher than the frame? how do you avoid contaminating the paper from the outer square frame "dirt" ?

Superbe, j'adore vos travaux. Quelle peinture utilisez vous ? Merci

@@dag_rotterengThank you so much. Sometimes acrylic dries too quickly.
that's my problem.

@@dag_rotterengUn grand merci pour votre conseil. Encore bravo pour votre travail très inspirant. Bonne suite artistique !
J'admire votre technique. Quel type de peinture utilisez-vous ? merci pour votre répnse.
J'utilise de la peinture acrylique ordinaire, pas de marques spéciales.
Fantastic ! What is « Blue print » paper like ? Is it kind of Watercolor paper ?
It's more like standard copy paper, bur thicker.
@@dag_rottereng thank you !
Top!

What type/brand of paper is that Blue Pad that you are using?
The paper is like copy paper, but thicker: 170 gsm
@@dag_rottereng thanks!
