It all makes sense now.. your melee weapon using nuke strength by applying nuke ammo that's never used. That's crazy.. I may actually have to take out my fable game and start experimenting on fallout New Vegas.. 😎
It's an amazing glitch. Something I did not mention in my ammo swap glitch is that it also applies any properties of the bullet to the weapon too. For instance any 'armor ignoring' properties of the hotkey bullet is also applied to the weapon on which your using the ammo. It's super cool, very handy and deadly with the right combination.
you can also hotkey mini nukes and then use that and make any gun shoot mini nukes (uses the mini nukes tho) or you could use the laser detonator with missiles/mini nukes (if ur on console it probably will lag im not sure bout the ps3 but on xbox 360 defo lags with even missiles if u use alot at once)
This should still be working. I literally did this a couple of days ago and there has not been any patched updates or anything like that. So it should be working.

The Hotkey button on PC is from num 1 - 8 but after im holding the Hotkey Button then pressing Enter Button or Left Clicking on Ammo it wont appear. how can i do this glitch then without Controller?
Sadly this might be a controller thing. You need to hold down the hot key menu and then assign an ammo to it. Is it not possible to have the menu open while you navigate to the ammo screen?
@@TrappedInFallout The hotkey menu Opened while holding the Number Key on the Keyboard, and I was able to switch from Weapons Inventory to Ammo Inventory. However, for the keyboard, just hold down the Number Key and for switching the inventory menu by pressing the arrow key and finally to place any item by pressing the ENTER key on the keyboard
@@TrappedInFallout yes, I use the keyboard buttons but I can't do this Ammunition Glitch, even if I Hold the Hotkey on the Keyboard while switching to the Ammunition Inventory and unfortunately when I want to put the ammunition in the Hotkey Menu it doesn't work. Hey Bogus Caboose, thanks for your comment. I should work as long as you can pull off the tricky button controls. That said I am interested in how you managed to get your supply of 9mm ammo. True, I even made a guide for this specifically too. Its one of the few glitches that works across multiple weapons. Works on melee weapons also, makes melee weapons powerful enough to take out Deathclaws in one hit.
I do this the hot key part of it worked but when I go to fire whatever weapon and hot key the said ammo it only comes up as as 1 round to use when I reload it reverts back to 5.56 or whatever and not the 9mm what do you think is problem.
Do you see this exact behaviour using the same weapon and ammo that I use in the video? If so then something seems wrong. If not then maybe that weapon and ammo combination does not work as well.
To do this you need to open the hot key item menu and then keep it open while switching the tabs. I'm not totally sure about the controls but you need to keep the button helps down that opens your item hot key menu. Then you switch to the ammo tab and assign an ammo to a slot in the menu. I hope that helps, thanks for checking out my video.
@imjoking6626 I guess that is the case with any glitch, they differ from the way the game was designed to be played. The only thing is that this is a single player offline game so it's truly up to you if you want to use it or not and if so it won't effect anyone else.
I know you won't respond but there is an issue with the glitch. What happens is when I switch to the ammo I only have one in the chamber and when it reloads it changes back to the original ammo
I guess I must ve crazy for replying lol. That makes sense. When you run out of the shaped ammo then you will naturally reload any other ammo you have for any given weapon. This is exactly how every ballistic weapon works when you have multiple ammo type for said weapon.
Ha ha now that's a lot of fire power at your finger tips. It's crazy just how much damage you can do when you don't really need to think about ammo management anymore 👍

I seem to be having trouble doing this glitch on PC, am I missing something or is the execution of this glitch only doable on a controller? because I don't /have/ a controller to use-
I think this might be a controller thing. I play on PC using a controller. It works on both PC and consoles but I think you do need a controller to be able to do it, sadly.
Not a person that usually does these things figured it out on my own cause grinding is time-consuming with the mine glitch. Accidentally used wrong ammo in gun it was cool. But it takes away the challenge. Although I don't get how he did it backwards, I was shooting rockets out of a riot shotgun.
It's certainly one of my personal favourites. It's what inspired me to figure out and find out how to get more ammo (or cells) for the weapon. My absolute favourite might be the All American or the CZ57 Avenger. I actually love and use a variety of weapons depending on my playstyle ha ha. What about yours? What is your favourite weapon?
I personally use a controller to keep my hotkey menu open and I play on PC. This does work on consoles as confirmed by folks who play on consoles and also works on PC but you might need a controller if you can't open the menu using a keyboard and mouse.
@@TrappedInFallout well I am using keyboard and mouse, and yeah we can keep the menu open by press and holding the number part of the keyboard but it doesnt seems to be working can you please help
@@TrappedInFallout Thank you. Figured that out after reading more comments. I have an older Xbox and the jack won't work on my PC. Any suggestions for a controller with USB that will work with Windows 11?
Hi Capt. Percy, thanks for your question. On the PC, the hotkey are the numbered keys, keys from 1-9. I suspect that you can perform the glitch as normal by holding down a numbered key. I hope that this answers your question Capt. Percy. Many thanks for watching and commenting.
Yes, this should work on consoles. I actually do mention what platforms a guide/glitch works on but only if it works on just a console or PC. If I don't mention it then that's because it's expected to work on any platform. That said, thanks for the suggestion.
It should do, the glitch itself is not dependent on weapon. In the background it simply switches the damage of the equipped weapon so in theory it does not matter or rather should not.
@@TrappedInFallout i've been trying but i feel like something is missing, because i cant do it, could you perhaps guide me how to do it on pc in a comment? oh and thanks
@@OrionsCat Sure, on PC you need to first use a controller. Next, have a lot of ammo for a given weapon. Now equip said weapon and press and hold the hotkey menu. While the menu is open, navigate to th ammo and assign the ammo as a hot key item. Next equip a different weapon in game and then switch to the ammo using the hotkey.
It basically lets you use any ammo with almost every weapon (this glitch does not work for every single weapon). It also carries over any ammo attributes such as Armor piercing. For example you can use special sniper ammo on a small handgun.
@@itsmehere1 If you use the Chet glitch at the beginning of the game, you can end up getting 90k+ ammo. You can then swap it out on other weapons. This would effectively be infinite ammo without caps or having to purchase it.
I will need to double check to confirm but I don't think you would. This glitch simply replaces the bullets. The thing is that the bullet traits are specific to weapon so at best the amount of ammo transfers over but not its effect.
@@jpatty5964 Holy, I did not know that. I could never get it to work reliably across weapons. That's awesome, thanks for letting me know. I may make a guide for this specifically now but I need to do some testing first. Ammo piercing on Alien Blaster lol.
I'm currently playing on PC but using a XBox controller so it certainly works ok both PC and Consoles. That said you may need to use a controller to get it to work or map keyboard keys to the point where it allows to keep the Hot Item menu open.
It's not something that I have tried, with the right button mappings it should work on PC without a controller. I play on PC with a Controller so it does work on PC. May need to try it out to confirm.
Hi GP, sorry your having issues. That really should not happen unless if your using perhaps some mods that may cancel out the effect. I'll try to help, so firstly are you able to set the ammo type on your hot key menu?

No problem at all Isaac, I'm happy that my video helped. Many thanks for watching and commenting.
That's crazy just get a crazy amount of ammo and hot key that your ur strongest weapons like the missle launchers
Yeap, it's a super easy to perform glitch that is really useful. It's both ammo and caps efficient. Thanks bro for watching and commenting.
Still works in 2024/6/3 , now i can enjoy my medicine stick lol
Many thanks for confirming that this still works - I really appreciate that.
another great video keep it up
Hi Jotaro, many thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it. I hope that you found it useful.
I’m only able to shoot one bullet and when I reload it goes back to normal ammunition
Yup I'm having the same issue
I'm not entirely sure, it's not something I have seen or heard about before. It might be due to the weapon type. I have used things like grenades Launchers which fire just one bullet but they seemed to work normally for me. Even when the weapon reloads it continues to use the swapped ammo instead.
well its not rly infinite ammo but when u pair it with the chet glitch it is pretty much infinite
Best thing to do is equip the laser detonator from lonesome road as it doesent use any ammo. It doesent work with all ammo types but it will work with mini nukes, rockets, missiles & other larger ammo. Easily the cheapest & best carpet bombing weapon available lol
Yeap, absolutely. In fact I am looking forward to making a guide for it myself. I am currently going through my road map of videos but it will hopefully be up soon in the near future.
This doesn’t work for me every time I switch to the hotkeyed ammo I fire one shot and then my gun reloads to its original ammo
Try using the same ammo and same weapons as shown in the video. Also try switching up different ammo to see if that helps.
Gonna have to go load my fatman with .22 plinking rounds now
Ha ha, I personally use the Alien Blaster myself. Who said you capped at ammo for it, not anymore.
Yo!!!!! This is huge thanks man!
Hi Villex, I'm happy that my video helped. Many thanks for watching and for leaving a comment. Comments and likes really help my vidoes so thank you very much Villex.
@@TrappedInFallout 😮 I was actually wondering about that.. nice!
Could i theoretically load my Mysterious Magnum or Ranger Sequoia with .50 MG loads?
Yes,it's totally possible. You will have to try it to see what happens but it's totally possible.
you can also hotkey mini nukes and then use that and make any gun shoot mini nukes (uses the mini nukes tho) or you could use the laser detonator with missiles/mini nukes (if ur on console it probably will lag im not sure bout the ps3 but on xbox 360 defo lags with even missiles if u use alot at once)
Yeap, that's totally right. And it's something that I hope to cover soon - especially when I start looking into DLC content for FNV.
not working now? I can't switch anymore while holding the button.
This should still be working. I literally did this a couple of days ago and there has not been any patched updates or anything like that. So it should be working.
Definitely still working. I did it just now. Currently spamming Mini Nukes at my enemies
hi, is it posible to do this glitch right now on PC? cause i dont have any controller just Using Mouse and keyboard.
But what's different is that when the player inserts any ammunition while holding the Hotkey button, the player can still insert the ammunition into the hotkey by pressing the gamepad button on the controller, right? However, for the keyboard, just hold down the Number Key and for switching the inventory menu by pressing the arrow key and finally to place any item by pressing the ENTER key on the keyboard
@overgrowl Ah OK, so you were able to do it on keyboard or rather using keyboard keys?
@@TrappedInFallout yes, I use the keyboard buttons but I can't do this Ammunition Glitch, even if I Hold the Hotkey on the Keyboard while switching to the Ammunition Inventory and unfortunately when I want to put the ammunition in the Hotkey Menu it doesn't work. It seems like the easiest and surest way to use a controller like in your video.
or maybe it has been fixed? or Gamemode Matters?
thanks, I did a glitch to up with a almost endless 9mm rounds so i hope this works.
Hey Bogus Caboose, thanks for your comment. I should work as long as you can pull off the tricky button controls. That said I am interested in how you managed to get your supply of 9mm ammo. It's always worth asking as you may have done it in a way that I don't know. As you can tell, I make lots of glitch videos.
I tried this on FO3. It wouldn’t work. Pissed me off b/c I had over 2000 rounds of 5mm and was low on 5.56 rounds. Great info brother!!!!🤘
Sorry to hear that, it's a great glitch and I do it very often to get around weapons for limited ammo etc. It works wonders for the Holy Grenades, Alien Blaster etc. It's a shame that it does not work in FO3. Many thanks for trying it out and letting us all know.
@@TrappedInFallout Got all the 5mm from those Super Mutants and their Mini Guns. When you have 5000 rounds of it, it would be nice to use them if possible. This glitch works real good in NV. Did the Powder Ganger glitch to get Leather Armor and 9mm rounds from Chet. Loaded up and been using that for That Gun. Thanks brother!!!!🤘
@@buhbuhjaychampagne1706 That's exactly what I do lol. I have around 30k of 9mm ammo and I use that in place of all my grenades, gun ammo like the Alien Blaster etc.

Hey ExiledWarden, thanks buddy for your amazing comment. I feel the same way. I can't take credit for this glitch but I do thank the genius who found this. Thank you once again for your support ExiledWarden.
I rearly see things in fallout i didnt know jet, but that makes me feel even better when i find something new.
I also think both parts are important, one has to find a glitch and someone needs to spread the knowledge.
I wuld also be curius if that same glitch would work in fallout 3
@@exiledwarden9598 Thanks ExiledWarden, it's a great glitch and it's helped me out many times. It's also really nice when I get to add some new info to a game that's pretty week known about in the community.
It works on dynamite as well as throwing spears it just doesn't show the animation
True, I even made a guide for this specifically too. Its one of the few glitches that works across multiple weapons. Works on melee weapons also, makes melee weapons powerful enough to take out Deathclaws in one hit.
@TrappedInFallout thats insane i will try and find it im in the area by Sloan so thats helpful
@@TrappedInFallout and found i could duplicate the powder mine using the glitch for money its crazy
@vergillives9890 Hope that it worked out for you.
@vergillives9890 Yeap, easy enough to do and very helpful also.
Me too
How do i do this on pc i tried it and int didn't work
To do this you need to open the hot key item menu and then keep it open while switching the tabs. I'm not totally sure about the controls but you need to keep the button helps down that opens your item hot key menu. Then you switch to the ammo tab and assign an ammo to a slot in the menu. I hope that helps, thanks for checking out my video.
Thanks, it worked perfectly
No problem at all Mr Goat, I'm happy to have been able to help. Many thanks for watching and commenting.
I feel like the issue for me it breaks my game when i do the chet glitch
Ballistic fist and high explosive missiles = 800 damage
Ha ha now that's a lot of fire power at your finger tips. It's crazy just how much damage you can do when you don't really need to think about ammo management anymore 👍
I can finally have a simi automatic fat man
Ha ha yeah. I'm working on another glitch for this, probably the most powerful weapon in the game. The rocket loaded laser detonator.

So I did it correctly. But the gun im using refuses to reload from one bullet.
Ah that's interesting, which gun is it? I can try it out for myself and see what happens. That said, try having multiple ammo and see if that helps, thanks for checking out my video.
@Trapped In Fallout the gun I'm using is the 25mm grenade apw
@@c420blastin Ah it should work with it. I actually have a grenade launcher myself, Mercy, and it fires a few grenades per 'clip' and I am able to swap the ammo out.
@@TrappedInFallout this glitch work for the Fatman?
@@KingRios- yes, it should work. I have tested it out and you can fire ammo from other weapons in place for mini nukes when using a Fatman.
It's mostly just trying things out over and over and with some luck you can find stuff. And sometimes it is purely accidental.
Quick question is the alien blaster your favorite weapon in the game
It's certainly one of my personal favourites. It's what inspired me to figure out and find out how to get more ammo (or cells) for the weapon. My absolute favourite might be the All American or the CZ57 Avenger. I actually love and use a variety of weapons depending on my playstyle ha ha. What about yours? What is your favourite weapon?
Great skills indeed. Keep giving us more of such beautiful videos.

No problem at all, it really helps to solve ammo problems on weapons such as the Alien Blaster. Thanks Joe for checking out my video.
So I switch to the ammo but there’s only one in the chamber. Then when I fire it switched back to the normal ammo
You switch first and then reload your weapon and that should be it.
Wait no I’m retarded. This works just not for all guns such as the “all American”
@@TrappedInFallout ah don’t worry it works I’m just very stupid. Funnily enough I’m currently using this glitch while playing the lonesome road dlc

Sadly to trigger the ammo swap glitch you need to use a controller. So this video was recorded on PC using an XBox controller.
@@TrappedInFallout Oh alright , thank you so much for the reply.
Does this work on console? Think it would be helpful to say at the start of a video what platform things work on.
Yes, this should work on consoles. I actually do mention what platforms a guide/glitch works on but only if it works on just a console or PC. If I don't mention it then that's because it's expected to work on any platform. That said, thanks for the suggestion.
Whats the button for hotkey in pc?
On keyboard, the hotkey are actually number buttons 1-8. If possible this glitch is best done with a controller.

It should do, the glitch itself is not dependent on weapon. In the background it simply switches the damage of the equipped weapon so in theory it does not matter or rather should not.
I’m playing on PS4 cuz my PS3 controllers died and I lost the charger, and I’m pretty sure it’s fixed on PS4 bc I can’t hotkey ammo.
I don't have a PS3/4 so I can't confirm myself. But since it works on most platforms it should work on PS3/4.

@@OrionsCat Sure, on PC you need to first use a controller. Next, have a lot of ammo for a given weapon. Now equip said weapon and press and hold the hotkey menu. And I thought Fallout 4 was complicated
By tradition, all the Fallout games have 'hidden' mechanics.
Does this give infinite ammo or just lets you use certain ammo with other weapons but still use the ammo?
It basically lets you use any ammo with almost every weapon (this glitch does not work for every single weapon). It also carries over any ammo attributes such as Armor piercing. For example you can use special sniper ammo on a small handgun.
@@TrappedInFallout do you know of any infinite ammo glitches that isn't just getting infinite caps and buying ammo or duping it?
@@itsmehere1 If you use the Chet glitch at the beginning of the game, you can end up getting 90k+ ammo. You can then swap it out on other weapons. This would effectively be infinite ammo without caps or having to purchase it.
