    Your drills are awesome! Can you please add videos on U12? Thank you!

      Yes!! More 9v9 content on the way. All of these can be modified to u11/u12 though.

      Yes please! I love your videos and I've been modifying the drills for my u12s, but I would love to see how you would coach that level. Thanks for everything you do!

    Can you do a 11 aside video?

      Yes! I have 11v11 content on the way!

    Coach, thank you for another excellent video! How do you incorporate offsides when you run these attack pattern drills?

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. Yes that would be next steps in coaching points. So you use the mannequins or training sticks as “players” and make sure they are timing their runs not to be offsides.

      Yes, that was my question too. We had our first off sides called, and goal retracted, after a beautiful cross!

    How do you structure your microcycles? For example, if you have only two trainings per week, let`s say Wednesday and Friday. Do you work on building out from the back on Wednesday, and attacking patern on Friday?

      Depends on the age of the team. When I first started with my current team they were U8s and we did buildout for 4 months before we even touched attacking patterns.
      Now they are U9 and used to the build out and attacking patterns so we do a combination kind of like you describe with build out one day and attacking another.

    Coach Rory, really enjoying your content! Thank you! I notice you use a lot of pop up goals. Do you have some you would recommend?

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Very helpful especially for countergoals when focusing on a specific action.

    Great job Rory, I've been using pattern coreography for more than 10 years and its works very well. What are your views in the transition to 11 v11 and applying the patterns, taking into accound the size of the pitch and the number of players ?
    Cheers

      @CoachRorySoccer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Yep I use pattern choreography at 11v11 as well. Patterns get a little more detailed etc but I believe this type of training is vital in all ages!

    I can't wait to double down this spring on these fundamentals! (btw, Coach, we ended up in 2nd place in our Flight and 3rd place overall.)

    Hi Coach Rory, my U10 girls team runs into issues where the defence of the other team tend to swarm/cluster around my fullbacks when they get up the pitch. This bunching up is a commonly seen in our rec league and makes it near impossible to find a pass to other girls in the middle. Do you have any suggestions on how to counter this. Thanks.

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Play it back to CB or GK and switch field.

    • @akeellaila
      @akeellaila ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, that's what I was thinking as well. Will coach back pass and switching, and see how it goes.

    I practiced these and it went well. But on a full sized pitch I found they lost the ball on the way up the pitch and they became very tired very quickly. Any reason why you are playing on half sized pitch?

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah there just attacking patterns so meant to be done in the attacking half.

      @@CoachRorySoccer if they are attacking patterns but the playing out patterns involve playing to midfielder in our own half then have you got any videos showing progression up the whole pitch linking the two together?

      @Coach Rory Soccer just to say, my team of u8 has not lost a single game since their formation in late August 2022 just by repeating your steps with Christmas tree formation at 5-a side game. Clarity and consistency are what children need at this stage, and you have shown how it's done
