Tex Winter: *"There is no 'i' in team"*
Michael Jordan: *"But there is an 'i' in win"*

Tex Winter, Phil J, and Tim Cone of the Philippines are the best triangle coaches in history

@HannaBoyOD Wilt would literally dunk from the Free Throw line every time he had to shoot a free throw. Insane. For his career, he shot 50% from the line - if they let him, he would've dunked every time for his free throws.

@bballbreakdown I wasn't talking about the interview, lol. I loved it. I was talking about the person who commented about being first.

haha you should've had him talk about kobe and MJ. Interesting thing is that kobe when he was 18 asked the lakers to bring tex to the team (not phil). He always attributed his knowledge to Tex just as much as Phil. Kobe and Tex actually had an awesome relationship.

Coach, I understand where you're coming from but during the 70s, Kareem was bar none the best center/player in the L. Matter fact, KAJ won the MVP while avg. 26ppg/13rpg/4apg/3.2bpg on 58% shooting compared to Walton's 19ppg/15rpg/4apg/3.4bpg on 53% shooting. So no, Walton did not have the best season for a center. KAJ had about a couple of seasons of 35/17, 32/16, 30/16/5 and 30/14/4/3 that would blow anything Walton put up out of the water. I've haven't even gotten to guys like Dream and Wilt

wilt chamberlian would take three huge steps "there was no 3 point line but he would be far from the 3 point line and after three huge steps he would throw the ball of the back board and dunk and he never missed a free thow, thats why they banned it thanks to tex writer telling the gms what wilt chamberlain could do and also they banned ally oops from out of bounds because a player out of bounds would throw the ball over the basket and will chamberlain would dunk it in"www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=253531

In fact, Wilt Chamberlain would have never tried to dunked that free-throw in a game!
      According to Wilt Chamberlain himself!

  • @bballbreakdown

@ea5t5ide21 Stats, especially from that era, don't paint an accurate enough picture. I'll have to do a breakdown showing Kareem from that era, as well as Wilt and Russell, and you'll see why Walton was better than any of them in his prime...

    • @grahamstrouse1165

Walton was amazing in his prime but his prime as a professional wasn’t even 100 games. He deserved that MVP, IMO, but come on.
