This could very well be considered one of the greatest teams of all time. The pitching was unreal and the offense could explode at any point. Very well might not be another team like this again! Thanks EXE!
If the 19 Astros won the title they’d probably get that praise as well. It’s hard to imagine 2022 was without springer, cole and Correa who are all superstars. Not to mention peak Roberto Osuna (not that he should be celebrated)
76 Reds?.. IDK, I always thought this Astros run was eerily similar to the Big Red Machine of the early to mid 70’s.. With a few differences, such as the Reds winning titles at the end of their run instead of the beginning and end.. Not that this is the end of the Astros run..
@@shoukatsukai I honestly think the 2019 Astros or 2022 Astros would beat those Red Sox, but it's hard to tell because the 2018 Red Sox were cheating just like the 2017 Astros. So all we can do is speculate at this point.
One could argue that the 2022 Astros were even better than the 2017 Astros, & this doesn't put in regards any of the controversy that followed their 2017 WS win. The simple fact is that the 2022 Astros were flatout dominant( yes, they had their share of stumbles, but overcame them all obviously ). From top to bottom, both in hitting & pitching, the Astros were consistently good throughout. And even when certain players went through slumps, they came out of those slumps in a big way. They ran away with the AL West & swept past both the Mariners & Yankees in the postseason, and then won the last 3 games to beat the Phillies & win the World Series again. Overall, the Astros proved without a doubt that they are the best team in the majors.
You, sir, are one of the best MLB highlight channels ever. Been watching you since you first uploaded a video way back in 2015. Astros have been cleansed from their scandal a few years ago. Redemption tastes sweet as seeing America getting mad at us. Your tears taste sweet as your anger.
Thanks to EXE-Edits for this video. This is the best recap of the 2022 Astros season I have seen. I appreciate the context of the of the 2022 season with recent seasons. Also, I appreciate that there was no attempt to make a cinematic production with over-loud music.
It just felt right this season. For the past 6 years no team had been as consistently good and making deep runs as Houston was. Since the scandal broke they have been the most hated team in all of baseball and maybe in all of sports. Yet the kept winning and this year they finally proved how good they really are. The train that keeps on rolling 🤘
Honestly Astros dominated the whole season they didn’t struggle at all even when the playoffs came they only lost two games in so excited to see what comes next season
Now that it's been revealed that a lot of teams were cheating and the Astros were simply the scapegoat, the 2017 Astros WS win is legitimate. Can't take it away! This is a dynasty: 6 straight ALCS appearances; 4 WS appearances; 2 WS titles!
Those other fans are stupid to think the Astros were the only ones doing this in 2017. The majority of the players came out and stated everyone in the postseason was doing something illegal but Astros got snitch on because they weren't suppose to beat the best teams in MLB
They’re just a rock solid team and I admit this I love the Astros winning type attitude they got knocked down by all the controversies but they rose up World Champions
From a 2017 perspective, that run should be remembered for what the team brought to the city following Hurricane Harvey. They gave the fans much reason to cheer as they were recovering from the disaster. It was a magical run all throughout and it was a great joy. Obviously, that part is buried and will be a long time before it gets uncovered. We now know what happened and that run has a yeah-but (I don’t like saying asterisk because I think it’s stupid and a sore loser term and I feel that every championship team should get one or there shouldn’t be at all because it’s disrespectful to the purpose of that). However, they needed to redeem themselves by winning. Forget the haters and all that, just go out and win the whole thing which they did. They won and all those people who refuse to admit the fact lost. As far as them being a dynasty, they’re kind of on the border. They are, but at least Another championship or two (which is possible) would put them more in the same conversations with the Yankees and Cardinals. Regardless of how you feel, you have to admit their ability to overcome adversity and be resilient while being a great team. I think it’s a lesson all sports franchises and everyone else should follow. How do you overcome the obstacles that you created to get to where you want to be? No hurricane, hell, or hate can ever bring down the H. Hoping for another ring and continued success.
Always important to remember, that both rings are legit AF! All teams participated in scandal, but Astros were the only team with Mike Fiers, so they were the only team outed. Just move on
I still don't see it as a stain; just manufactured outrage and spite. The 2017 Astros deserved their title and anyone who thinks otherwise is naïve and coping.
No matter how much you hate the Astros, you have to admit that they’re a good team no matter the situation. Congrats to Houston on the World Series title🎉
I wouldn't say they were terrible in April. They had a lot of tough road games to start the season. I said before the season started that they would start slow
Naw, they'll be fine..they have so much depth it's unreal .however if I know Jim crane, he ll find someone to replace him..Crane wants championships ..
"Redemption Season?!" 😂😂😂 Redemption would imply that the Astros and their fans are concerned about what other teams and their fan bases think about them. I can assure you, WE DO NOT. The Astros cheated just like other teams did that season, including the Yankees, including the Red Sox, including any team whose pitchers used foreign substances, including teams whose players used steroids and won the WS in using those players, i.e. the Yankees and I could go on and on. That's the very reason MLB wouldn't even CONSIDER stripping the Astros. Cuz they wouldn't be able to stop with just them. And that's how MLB wants it and nobody has to like it. Let me be clear one more time: WE DON'T G.A.F. ABOUT REDEMPTION cuz there's nothing to redeem. The Astros played by the same unwritten rules of baseball that you hear about sometimes, only they were the only team that got caught. 😎🏆🏆
You did just fine.. however, just as many of those who bring up 2017, you fail to mention the almost 14 other teams who have been either told to stop or outright punished for cheating by the league for sign stealing during or since then. And if you add those who were in the 3 years previously the number to 20 plus. But just as mlb did, let's keep the focus on the one name. Kinda like they did during the steroid scandal. Let's only speak on the best of the best names, even though most of the league was doing it..
The saddest part is that they were so talented in 2017 that they didn’t need to cheat It’s just unfortunate and I’ll forever never respect that team again for that
Nice retrospective. I would have included the regular season 9-4-2 tag out of Angel Taylor Ward by Martin Maldonado between 1st & 2nd because it was awesome in a similar way the two immaculate innings were, and a reference to NY chanting "We Want Houston" prior to the ALCS for spice. For an outsider's perspective, your effort is absolutely top notch.
Why does everyone keep saying this was Verlander’s first World Series win??? Wtf smfh doesn’t anyone remember game 2 of the 2017 World Series where Houston won on the road in 11 innings 7-6 against the Dodgers in a game where Justin Verlander started?? Tf smfh
What redemption? Redemption is for those who failed and are looking to succeed again, not cheaters. All they did was prove they can win without cheating. Not worthy of the title, ‘redemption.’
I agree as an Astros fan for different reasons. If you hate the Astros, you'll never live down the 2017 season and nothing the Astros do will ever redeem them. If you love the Astros, the 2017 title was never tainted and you dont have to prove to anyone you redeemed anything. The 2022 Astros should just be remembered as an unstoppable force no matter how deep the valleys were.
