- Resolution, Rayleigh’s criterion of limiting resolution and According to Rayleigh's Criterion, Two points or two spectral line of equal intensity are just resolved by an optical instrument when central maximum of the Diffraction pattern due to one falls on the first minimum of diffraction pattern of the other.
