Where do you live? I think it’s definitely worth a visit if you want a very laid back experience. Each US Virgin Island has its own vibe, and I’d say St. Croix is like the country, lol, where St. Thomas is like the city. Either way though you’ll get great food, great beaches, and great weather (if you like it warm). Plus if you are from the US you don’t need a passport!
