  • Hello dear viewers :)
    In today's video we will be talking about the very interesting precious metal gold! Gold is the most important metal for securing money and finances and is also a widely accepted currency all around the world. So today we will talk about aspects of this amazing precious metal, how you can invest in it, if you want to do that.
    Gold coins and bars are usually best suited for investment purposes.
    Eventhough I like gold and have had a lot of experience over the years, none of this information that I share with you in my videos is financial consulting in any way and you should always do your own research as I'm just stating my opinion.

    I love my quarter oz eagles. I think anything smaller is a bit too much, not to say I'm not getting tenths though. I did just order my first collectors piece yesterday, the tenth oz Spanish mint Lynx and plan on getting each coin they release in the series. other than that I'm working slowly on fill a quarter oz tube and tenth oz tube of eagles. Once I have finished filling these tubes I'll be saving up for full Oz's but im primarily stacking silver. Great stuff you got there.

      Yeah, the quarter ounce is probably my favorite, but then again, I said that about the 1/10th and I'll probably say the same about the half once I'm on those 😅

    1/10 is a nice little discrete thing to have with you when traveling . 1 oz is a bit more than you need to get you to an embassy etc and might even attract too much attention.

    • @scrappingadventures290
      @scrappingadventures290  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, a 1/10 oz wouldn't be notived as a big gold coin, but rather as a normal brass coin. As long as no one is looking too closely, totally invisible 🙂

    Fractional is good. A little more expensive, but good depending on your purpose. For me it has to do with trading so you don't overpay for something- goods, sevicies, whatever. Also, it's good if you have to bribe somebody. Say you want to cross the Mexican border. Border guards there are, for the most part, corrupt and will take bribes to expedite your crossing. I've done this and it works.

      Okay, not that I would know, I haven't illegally immigrated anywhere and hope I won't have to, but I also think that smaller sizes have some significant advantages over bigger ones. Of course also disadvantages, but not only.

    I totally agree with your goal of stacking gold. I buy what ever gold I can afford, some months its 1/10 and 1/4 eagle while other months I can afford a 1oz Eagle or Buffalo. I agree KEEP Stacking gold

    • @scrappingadventures290
      @scrappingadventures290  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, I absolutely agree, everyone has to do whatever one can afford. For me that's a quarter or even maybe just a tenth ounce, but it's at least something and you're doing something to achieve your goals. Don't get why people have to be so nasty sometimes and attack people for stacking small stuff, but hey, that's their opinion as well, just not a great use of time, in my opinion. Thanks for watching

    Ive got something for you to figure out, a quarter ounce of gold eagle has a $10 face value, and a ounce of gold eagle has a $50 face value how does that work cause if you buy 4 of the quarter ounce equals $40 face value but its a ounce thats $50 face value..........

    Well… selling privately… both buyer and seller understand that there will be a premium anyway so you won’t be losing much of money. You will lose though if you go to pawnshops or coin shops during desperate times.

      @scrappingadventures290  ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly, that's why I usually buy and sell from and to private people. Thanks for watching 👍

    I'm with you, i consider gold a savings vehicle. Ever since my son was born i've been buying gold actively for when he gets mature enough to receive, maybe a marriage present or something to give him a head start. I've also been myself some too, kinda got hooked on it.

    • @scrappingadventures290
      @scrappingadventures290  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that's probably a pretty good idea, it's really a very good way of saving money 👍😊

  • @iliumboy

    Think of it this way. A tenth ounce gold coin typically has about a 20% premium. You go out and buy 20 coins, you then throw away 4 of those coins. You then take the 16 coins you have left put them in a box and bury it. Then, sometime in the future you dig up the box and hope that there is more that 16 coins in your box.

    • @scrappingadventures290
      @scrappingadventures290  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, that's not the case here, soooo... no. Premium is 6-8% here. If I only buy 1oz Coins and I want to sell a little bit, I can't and have to sell the whole thing. Premium is not completely gone when you sell, the more premium something has, the more you get payed back. How do I know? I'm a bullion and jewelry dealer now, that's why I don't have time for videos right now.

      Considering the current fiat currencies won't be around in the future, premiums are immaterial.

    If you can afford a 1/4 coin. Save it for 4 months and buy a full ounce

    • @scrappingadventures290
      @scrappingadventures290  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why would I want that? I do not need 2000 bucks in one go when I have to sell some of it so then I just have cash laying around, or worse, if they get rid of cash, numbers online. If I have to sell something because I need 200 bucks, or 500, I don't want to sell 2000 bucks of gold. Cost average effect also goes to shit if I only buy once in half a year or something like that, so I very well might not even save any money. If gold just goes up by 5% in those 4 months, I didn't save a dime. I'm not just doing stuff before thinking about them first, trust me. Well, you of course have no reason to trust me, but anyways 😅
