This here was kinda an experiment with animating a much longer clip than usual, but relying on much more static and recycled art assets, in a Dr. Katz kinda way, it is actually kinda fun.
The recycling was pretty seamless, and this was way more dynamic than Dr. Katz. I think you substantially increased the length of the animation without sacrificing quality, even if you were secretly lazier on average.
11 Simple Rules for Knowing Our Granddaughter 1. don't get near my granddaughter 2. don't call her by name 3. don't even look at her 4. keep her name out of your mouth 5. keep her name out of your fuckin mouth 6. 7. don't buy her anything (gifts/tiniest spark plug/etc.) 8. turn around and walk away 9. do not under any stircumstances help her get out of a stituation 10. watch the glanguage and be colite 11. don't lookk at kher (love these---the moment where they do the totally/not totally response just breaks me, it's amazing, the animation is perfect!)
The Minksalmons returned during this current live tour. I love this idea of just grabbing the smallest thing about Mike and just running with it. One of the best segments in recent CBB times. The animation is fucking great.
Super specific, but the way you animate characters squinting their eyes always makes me laugh. They look like they're about to pop off their faces. It's the funniest thing it kills me, i need a Birmingham futon (that's what everyone calls a coffin)
I am aware these must take forever to animate, and even longer when you bring in the extra CBB references and attentions to detail about the show. BUT I formally request 10,000 more of these my dear boy!
All I could think about with the most recent episode was “I can’t wait to see if VCL will one day animate this silly courtroom scene that features Scott playing Jared Leto as a judge.”
To anyone wondering where the name "Minksalmon" came from: "Mink" = "Ermine" and "Salmon" = "Trout". Hence Mike Ehrmantraut from Breaking Bad (almost every character that Drew Tarver voices on CBB is named this way.)
For some reason, I could listen to these two talk about their granddaughter forever. It's so damn funny somehow, I just can't get enough. I could listen to them on this subject for like 4 hours, I think.
CBB is on tour right now. A couple of nights ago they came to my town Portland Oregon. Every night Paul is a different one of his characters and they have special guests. In Portland it was Drew Tarver, and Paul and Drew did their Minksalmon guys.
Dude, I can't help financially support you, and feel genuinely sorry about that, because I've listened to this Ep like 5 to 7 times, and you made me laugh at it all over again.
PLEASE do some of the 'recordings' from Gil Ozeri on the Adam Pally, Ben Schwartz, Gil Ozeri CBB ep "I found another bone in my doodie" "spark-le-on-ious wanted youuuuu"
Excited for her! Finding an entry point for other people is hard! I had to listen to a few episodes and just trust that I would like it before the whole style clicked in my head and I was a listener for life.

I loved it. Subscribed :)
if you become the next Tom Snyder, nobody will complain.

An experiment that's a clear success!
What a reference! I love your content,
You cut out my absolute favorite line. "If you even think of going near my granddaughter, thou shalt be a redneck."
"ya might be a redneck"
LOVE the idea that Scott's backyard is in a huge studio. Scottnecdoche Newyorkerman
Very good.
His yard is built on a soundstage, and the soundstage is in his yard.
The way Scott vibrates after "stircumstance" is so good

Thank god this clip wasn't labeled "Our granddaughter" because I am gonna watch the shit out of it.
👏
I love that Drew Tarver's characters are always from the southern part of wherever they are from.
Them holding hands is great!
Laughing so much I might end up in a Dallas Bowtie (what everyone calls a coffin)

Paul F thompkins weezing and laughing in between is so flippin contagious...love this show have been listening for close to a decade and threedom
I cannot fathom how he laughs so hard, pulls it back delivers a line perfectly then starts giggling again. It is masterful.
Hey congrats on making it in the CBB book! Page 88
Oh gosh I started cracking up instantly upon seeing that picture
Happy Wet Day 2023!
This is what I love about CBB (and improv in general): if a mistake is made (like “stircumstances”) you just add it to the bit.
Scott Aukerman with a light blue shirt looks like Jon Arbuckle.
Whenever I’m picturing a CBB ep in my mind, I imagine it in your animation style. You’re doing Gods work son.
Me too!! Haha
@@slowtrain4422 me three!
Me four! Four Washington Lane!!

Took me a while to figure out the background was a fake back yard but that is beautiful. Long live the backyard era of CBB

Nine minutes! What a treat
All I could think about with the most recent episode was “I can’t wait to see if VCL will one day animate this silly courtroom scene that features Scott playing Jared Leto as a judge.”
What episode is that? Sounds hilarious
@@DuncanW1000 it’s 8/7/22, Bob Odenkirk. About an hour and ten minutes in (it’s the last segment before plugs). I dug deep for you. Enjoy!
@@LevMass your a scholar and a saint thank you my friend
I've watched this 5 times in like 18 hours, this is incredible
Glad to hear it! Thank you!
I like the touch that they are holding each other's hands, now that's family togetherness
To anyone wondering where the name "Minksalmon" came from: "Mink" = "Ermine" and "Salmon" = "Trout". Hence Mike Ehrmantraut from Breaking Bad (almost every character that Drew Tarver voices on CBB is named this way.)
Are you telling me the ecentric billionaire Fishoff Whiff isn't a real person?
The slow zoom in on them after Scott say “a zebra” is so funny
something about the way these two just sit there scowling after everything scott says makes this even funnier
I love the POV where they're looking down, it's so demented 😂
For some reason, I could listen to these two talk about their granddaughter forever. It's so damn funny somehow, I just can't get enough. I could listen to them on this subject for like 4 hours, I think.
This is one of the best things I’ve ever seen
Congrats on making the book!
I'm back watching for the third time now and still can't stop laughing
"watch your glanguage and be collite" is one of my quotes of all time
Paul gasping after "Don't look at huur" just kills me
I think that's Ryan Gaul
@@jonathanhogg5665 that's unmistakably Paul.
Every time I read Minksalmon I giggle like a little schoolgirl granddaughter :- {}
Oh my gosh! Fantastic work, and just before the Gotta Get Sal finale!!! Wowie
I keep coming back to this, its so good
Mike’s long lost brothers! ❤️
EXCELLENT WORK. This was one of my favorite episodes in the past year. Absolutely enthralled it got your treatment!
I don't understand how these don't have more views. They're awesome.
It made the book!

Such a good Mike impression lol
💀 BRB getting measured for my Tallahassee Nightgown
This is so very good. Thanks for making it. Can't wait for more!
Watching the last few episodes of Better Call Saul. This is hilarious stuff. And PFT absolutely nails the Mike character.
It took me far too long to figure out what they were parodying. In retrospect, it should have been obvious. PFT's impression is actually spot on.
You’ll wind up in a Chicago overcoat
this is possibly the funniest thing ive ever seen i cannot believe they said that!
Absolutely amazing ❤
Literalllllly didn't realize until your animation that these guys are based on Mike.... also fantastic job!!!
Bro I love ur kinda like Dan Meth 2.0 style, I love him and I love CBB so this is perfect
Oh man this is so wonderfully fantastic! I love it so much I just hope you do more more more!!!
Great job on this
Came here on the 15th anniversary of CBB just to be reminded of a modern classic bit.
Loved your stuff in the YTP reanimated and this was a joy to watch as well. Easy sub from me!
I was laughing through this whole thing! Love it
Is that the same swimming pool where The Grizz took on Byron Denniston in that deadly water polo match?
THE VERY SAME!!!!!!
Dude, I can't help financially support you, and feel genuinely sorry about that, because I've listened to this Ep like 5 to 7 times, and you made me laugh at it all over again.
That's okay! Nobody owes me anything, it is great that you even enjoyed it!
Saw your art on the CBB Book, @VideoCityLimits! Congrats!
Thank you!
I would KILL to see 1 of lisa Gilroy's crazy characters animated. Doesn't matter if its Elvis, cockroach rick, etc
Fantastic job! Looking forward to more!
I didn't even notice the bumper sticker joke until seeing it here. Gosh!
IVE BEEN WAITING for one of your animations! this is one of my favourite episodes this year you did so well!! Love your work :))
this is incredible
I love their stone cold faces as they laugh in the background
An absolute delight to watch
i enjoy where you chose to cut the clip off because it gives the impression they finally lost it and attacked scott after that last phrase
8:06 _chef’s kiss_
this was some real good stuff. thank you so much for all the great animations you make!
Now THIS is the CBB reboot.
More CBB animations please. Time keeper is taking requests 🙌
Thank you, love it.
pft gasping trying not to laugh at 8:05 is so good
This is such a delight (as always). I’m dying to figure out what the huge black obelisk is that seems to be looming over the backyard studio.
Ah lol it’s an actual studio with painted backyard backdrops. Amazing.
This is great, thank you for making it.
Interesting, nice one.
Fantastic work.
This was such a great bit and the animation is hilarious as always ❤
I also love the part a couple of minutes later when Scott finally gets the joke
I've watched this a few times but just noticed that they're on a set made to look like Scott's backyard. Very funny detail.
PLEASE do some of the 'recordings' from Gil Ozeri on the Adam Pally, Ben Schwartz, Gil Ozeri CBB ep
"I found another bone in my doodie"
"spark-le-on-ious wanted youuuuu"
I absolutely love your animations of these podcasts lol
Gold 🏆
this is brilliant.
been a while! so great.
Nice to hear from you!
This is what the founders of the Internet hoped the internet would create.
Love it man keep these coming!!
That was fantastic :)
This is just the absolute best. Thanks for your hard work homie
I seriously love you, dude.
No lie, I wish they did have bumper stickers that were strong enough to let me drag another car from place to place.
Wet Day is a lot like 9/11. I don't know where I was for either.
Improvisers named Finger
This was amazing
I’m gonna go ahead and assume it was intentional to draw them both as Mike Ehrmentraut
That's a good one
Funny!!!!!!!!!! 🤣
As a rule, I have started to stay away from all granddaughters. I don’t want to end up in a Pittsburgh Porta-Potty.
Subscribed. This kicks ass
The funniest thing about this is that I don’t think there’s a scene in either show where Mike threatens someone in relation to his granddaughter
This is the perfect way to get my girlfriend into comedy bang bang! Thanks for this... art edit? I freaking love it!
Excited for her! Finding an entry point for other people is hard! I had to listen to a few episodes and just trust that I would like it before the whole style clicked in my head and I was a listener for life.
I just realized that Jada Pickett is their granddaughter and that Chris Rock ignored Rule #4.
