Everyone talks about the luxury of coming to Australia, nobody talks about what international students go through. It must have been hard for you to talk about this. Hats off to you to talk about this. 💫

International students go through lot of struggle and coping up alone feels such a hard task. However, i chose a course related to my profession which was diploma leading to degree in hospitality. We had regular practical classes, assignments and exams. Thankfully I managed to get accommodation close to college, 20 min tram so commuting was not a problem. Living in different cultures teaches you lot many things. Yes, I accept my course was relatively easy and fun so I could manage distinction all through at once. The fees of my course was also very low and Australian dollar was at Rs.34. Still managing fees and other household expenses gives you lot of stress. Anyhow, classroom apart it is plain simple learning for any international student which comes through your experiences and observations.😊
Not gonna lie if your indian and you come to Australia expect rasictism my people are asshole to your people over here so if you come over don't walk by yourself of you will get harrass or beat up which is sad 😢
Hey hi, I was planning on moving to Australia next year for MBA at Deakin University, I literally know no soul in Australia it'll be me alone, would you like to suggest something please? Please
What is your previous study? What is the fees structure for your course? Let me be honest, It is not easy to survive in Australia on your own and with rising dollar rates the life gets harder and harder each day if you have to get money from home. My course was a diploma course leading to degree as I am from hospitality background. I was paying approx Rs.5600 every six months. The cost of my course was then 11000 dollars per year. Total. We were not charged according to papers and I don't know that system. I did diploma in hospitality with certificate course of patisserie. Cakes, pastries, tarts and all. It was a practical based paper where i accept college had lot of expenses on its shoulder like purchase of ingredients for practical classes every week for a class. And they never disappointed us. The practical went so smooth and was such a learning experience. Then dollar then was 34 rupees. I am talking about 2006. Everything being decently priced pressure was not too high but still around. Now it is close to 55. After initial 1 week we were handed food handling certificate after conducting an exam on the right handling of food which our teachers said will help us in our part time jobs in restaurant and all. As Australia is a tourist destination and had many food establishments along side roads so after month when all permits came we search for part time jobs. To me, and my point is 1: choose a course with flexible time table. It helps, let's be honest. We had classes 4 days a week and for rest 3 days we were available for part time works. And you don't want to travel even for 10 min for just one class. So the college made sure that we finish maximum classes in a day. 2. Mine was a private college, Carrick in the heart of Melbourne City on Burke Street. I suggest, choose a TAFE if you want to pursue the same course. No offense to college, it's just it creates good impression with the employer. 3. Fees and other expenses should be taken into consideration. I told you my course was very reasonably priced and i was paying close to 6 dollars for tram ticket. The whole day not hourly sort. Like there if you buy a ticket for 2 hours, it is cheap. Food, we can carry what we prepare in our practical classes. And we had few Indian restaurant around on Bourke Street where you can grab a parantha with butter for 2 dollars. Then you had hare Krishna restaurant at swanstan street. Pure vegetarian food. 5 dollars thali. So yes, food was also reasonably priced. Initially I was living in shared accommodation where bills were shared. So yes, I faced not too much pressure on that front but lot otherwise. 4. Let us be honest. MBA from Australia is not in much demand here and elsewhere. The reason, I asked you for fees structure. 5. Alone or in company. A lot depends on you and your conduct around. Just stick to the reason you are there. Focus on your studies. Once everything is settled it's like going to college here difference being you are managing everything on your own and are independent. Let me be honest, during my initial 2 years I faced no problem with anyone other than the accommodation where unfortunately we were not able to settle very well with one another. I was paying approx 250 dollars per month. Then 10 dollars calling card for India. All these things took away my peace for a while but it was not too bad. 6. I use to travel and explore Melbourne and around on tram and train and i had no car. St Kilda beach, Williamstown beach, Victoria market and all. So yes, it was fun. So it also depends on you and what you decide for yourself. First week of our course we were handed, the chef kit. Clothes and equipments. Food handling certificate after 2 weeks of study and an exam. There was this shop on Elizabeth Street or the next one from where we could purchase chef clothes and equipments if we want to do it on our own. College use to give the address of the shops. So yes, all smooth in that respect and then we had our regular classes. It was yes, fun, struggle and lot of learning.😊
@@yashsharma3292 Surely I will try to help as much as possible.😊 1: I am not living there so I don't know the current job situation and other financial constraints. Obviously if the dollar rate is around 55, it will put too much pressure on you. 2. Changing the course. The college for which you applied and have the offer letter also object your decision to leave the course. Because you have visa and a written bond of concent with them. 3. Just a piece of advise. As a student you must focus on studies rather than earning money. Groom yourself well to assimilate and get the best skills and knowledge. I did NOT concentrate on sending money back home. I concentrated on my studies, learning and insights I can get from a different culture which is very result based. 4: salaries and PR prospects. Again I am not living in Australia so I don't know about the current salaries around. Anyways, being a student you will get low paying jobs on tax or cash in hand jobs. That barely cover the living expenses. For PR prospects, I don't know the changes or amendments made by the government so I won't be able to advise you right. Trade courses surely helps you getting a job but then a lot depends on the individual. Hope that helped. Hey, cya rule the world.😊
