Another tip I would add is to not try to power level demons that you like when you first get them. Their exp gain gets hardwalled and it becomes much more difficult to level them once they've learned all their innate skills, making them an eventual waste of a slot. If you want to power level a demon then the best time to do it is in endgame when you have access to tons of grimoires and Miracles that boost their growth further.
@@lvccapnt Magic build got huge buff in Vengeance (more good magic skills for Nahobino, and unique passives for demons help with increase magic dmg, they even stack)
Just played the intro on SMTV Vengeance on PS5 and wow! It is so much better on ps5 oh my word. The frames and quality of life changes are so nice. This was worth the wait!
Just checked specially for you. With native 4K display and NVidia DSR i can run game perfectly fine even at 8K resolution. But i'd prefer 5k DL DSR for smoother FPS.
Love that you’re playing on hard. Would you recommend someone new to the game to play canon of creation first or head straight to vengeance? Cheers and thanks for the helpful tips!
I'd say go blind, go hard, SPARE green dude when asked if you want to. And for me it's became a thing to go blind (playing without google etc.) and doing hard difficulty for any SMT game for first playthrough. Once you get a grasp on mechanics hard is not quite hard, but a bit challenging - it's fair but it doesn't forgive your mistakes, so every game over is either you challenged something way out of your league (20+ levels higher than you) or you engaged something ignoring core game mechanics.
I'm playing on hard, and the only thing that has killed me so far has been that giant golem that I completely underestimated. I knew it was going to be boss tier, but apparently it is superboss tier if you hit it up right away.
MAKE SURE THE NAHOBINO IS AT MINIMUM, RESISTANT TO LIGHT AND DARK. Especially in the Cannon of Vengeance. Light and Dark based spells have a chance to just kill out right if they hit on a weakness, and while it's generally a good idea to make sure your squad can't be insta killed, they can be revived, if the Nahobino goes down, it's to the game over screen.
My top 10 tips for SMTV will be: 1) Always, ALWAYS cover your weakness, fuse essenses with right affinities, swap demons in party etc. 2) Exploit enemy weakness as much as possible, 8 turns instead of 4 and increased damage allows you to beat even stronger demons. 3) Get demon with AOE heal ASAP!!! Angel for example is great demon with unique skill which heals for good amount and is quite low lvl. 4) Have full stacks of Spyglasses, that's your only way to beat Mitamas at early stages. 5) Have full stacks of dampeners and use them ONLY to cover against Magatsuhi charged boss attacks. You can have only 3 at same time so use them wisely. 6) Watch what you're fusing. Jack of all trades, master of none. Every demon must have at least 2 elements covered if possible, even your healers. Don't try to fit all the spells on single demon, and watch their affinities while doing so. In general, 1-2 strong elemental spells, 1 support spell and then mostly passives is what i did, Boosting damage and covering weaknesses. 7) Always have a way to fully buff your team and debuff enemy very fast. And don't waste full icons for buffs/debuffs/heals, place your demons so you will exploit weakness or crit and then buff/heal with half an icon. 8) Get all the trash while you exploring, it can be sold for Macca and can provide you enough to heal more. 9) Get all the Mimans and visit Gustav for bonuses. When close to the end of the chapter find Chiranupp who will mark every single Miman on map and return for them. 10) Don't waste the orbs on the ground healing your MP/HP unless you need to. You may pass them now and return after few battles.
lol this decision is what made me quit the original because story bosses are disgustingly punishing. I found out that you do damage based on level differences, not how strong your character and team are
I went hard without google or anything on vanilla and after couple hours of suffering it became a slightly challenging but pretty much fair difficulty. Not playing any SMT game on normal again XD
@@ThereWasNoFreeName I was trying to do the same thing with reload, everyone praised the game but it was a slog for me to get through. I stopped around mid Nov because the story wasn’t doing anything for me
Can anyone explain why SMT fans and Persona fans claim things like "smt isn't persona"? They are very clearly the same franchise. I mean, I played P5R, and just started Vengeance a few days ago. It's clear they are the same franchise. turn-based rpgs with demons/personas as the collectable "pokemon". Why do people insist on they not being the same??
@@lubbo5261 SMT if could not exist and they would still be the same franchise. Rename personas to 'demons' and they are the exact same thing mate. @sumireravenclaw8034 I feel you, im not about stressfully difficult games either, but I'd really recommend going with normal difficulty. SMT isnt so much a punishingly difficult game, as it is a puzzle game. Its so rewarding to figure out the next big "puzzle" (boss fights). Play the game however makes you happy, but i think youd get a lot more out of it if you play on normal, SMT just scratches a different itch than the persona games
Purchased on PC and PS5 (physical). Looks absolutely glorious, and the framerate is fantastic. Sadly, the PC port (which is where I planned to play) is utter trash. Unreal Engine stutter on another level. Not the best place to play.

Use physical build

There’s so much to do in the first area of the game that I forgot to save and lost an hour’s worth of progress lol
Happened to me and all I could do was be upset at myself cuz I can literally save every 10 seconds if I needed to. Lml good ol smt
Same. And I best Naama in the beginning of that hour I lost😭😭😭
I spent almsot 10 hours in the first main area and just getting up to the diet building definitely a lot of new content to check out

😭 😂
For Vanilla SMT players Super Tao was buffed and Idun and Demeter were nerfed.
Also the DLC healer is the best healer.
I was destroyed in the best way possible, by Naamah. 🤭😏 I succumbed to booti-temptation. 😅

To see all endings pick Creation first
Btw for mimans every area has a chironup npc that you can pay macca to mark all mimans on the map use this and get all of them
Good tip!
But you only get there at the end of the stage, can't simply rush for them.
