    Thanks for the video! I might start doing this on an m4 GB since it doesn't hold it's bearings very well into place.

    I guess I'l give JB weld a try. The bushings just won't stay put in my ICS gearbox, one or more bushings get loose after a while. I've tried epoxy glue and bearing "glue" from Loctite, and still one or more bushings come loose. Maybe the metal filling in the JB weld help to kinda wedge it in place?

  • @davidbenham1466
    @davidbenham1466 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You can use a loctite product called bearing mount which will do the same as JB weld but you wont have to mix it up and is easier to apply. Just thought I would mention that, great video.🙂

    What do you use when you have to replace these glued bushings? Any tips?

    Can you please do a short video explaining the correct orientation of a sector delay chip. There must be a correct orientation since the chip is asymmetrical and would therefore provide different cam profile depending on its orientation. Cheers! Denis.

      Pictures I've seen from complete gearboxes always have the the little protruding nub on the left, contacting the tappet plate first. But I have heard of people placing them around. Do some more research then I guess just try it out hahah

    How do you remove locked down bearings? I’m building a Krytac dmr setup, and the gun came with bearings that were locked down. I’m going to replace them with bushings, but I can’t get them out

    I’ve been teching for about a year and a half now. I want to start doing it for other people. I was wondering if you knew of a way I can promote myself. How can I start making money and possibly make it a side job? Where should I start?

    • @TheAirsoftTech
      @TheAirsoftTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have to build a name for yourself. A really good one. It’s pretty hard to start out nowadays too. It was a lot easier to do 10 years ago when I started. If you feel like your work is of high quality, email me some videos of your guns working and if they’re good enough I’ll give you a shout out .

    Do you have a video on changing the trigger mechanism (not sure the correct term), im wondering cause this gun im planning on getting has a micro switch issue which doesnt work after 1 game

    • @masonmoser8287
      @masonmoser8287 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hotpocket are you talking about trigger contacts? You can simply look up how to change out trigger contacts on TH-cam. It may not be airsoft tech specifically but someone has a video about it.

    Or just use any bearing glue, loctite 603 for instance, otherwise well said :)

    hey, what would you do if the opposite is the case?
    your bushing wont go in so easily. I got a RetroArms shell now and my bushings are not going in well. what are your tricks, what kind of tools and what level of "violence" do you apply? would it be a good idea to heat the shell? with cooking water? or will it deform badly, or freezing the bushing? what would your method be and how do I know, if I should just not try it with these bushings anymore? I didnt want to go hard on my parts, but how hard can you usually go on them and still having "no (significant) risks"?

    • @BlackWolf.-.-.
      @BlackWolf.-.-. 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have heard of both methods being a good option so its stuck there by pressure

    • @DamnLUK

      Yea, i got it solved, by hammering it in with some precautions. Many soft hits, its aszzz tight now

    Hi to everyone.
    I have a problem to fit my 9mm bushings into retro arms 9mm v2 long gearbox shell. In reality gearbox shell has place for 8.9mm bushings so 9mm bushings is bit too wide. I tried to hammer it with a punch tool but they don't give up :( I don't want to make adjustments for gearboxshell couse is a bit expensive and there is a risk of breaking it. Some of you have any solution for that kind of problem ?

    • @whitmills6691
      @whitmills6691 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know if you still have the issue but try Retro Arms bushings. Sometimes the bushing holes need to be widened slightly, there’s not much risk to it

    Toothpicks or cocktail sticks are also great for applying the epoxy, thinner, and no cleanup required. 👍

    I've noticed when installing bushings its not the flushness I become concerned about its how they dont always lay Perfectly flat and flush with the corresponding opposite bushing. I can tell that if they are just a little bit off, my gears spin off on a very slight angle.
    Thru research I've found these guys

    Thought maybe this could fix my issues. So I decided to make my own 🤣 cant wait to see if it works! But you have any tips on how to get my shit straight and flush? 😅

    • @TheAirsoftTech

    yea always score the surface you are gluing. glue cant bond to a flat surface. You cant climb a giant ball but you can climb a mountain because you have groves and places to hold on to. ALWAYS SCORE THE SURFACE

    • @TheAirsoftTech
      @TheAirsoftTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea it makes sense, and I get it. I’ve just never needed to.

    • @pauls.5815
      @pauls.5815 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In that situation It may not be bonded per say as much as the glue acting like a really tight shim. Also you can still beat them out if needed. If you score it really good they may never come out again.
