This was somewhere near Panthertown Wilderness area in western NC. I forget now. It was private water so didn't want to provide details publicly since I was a guest. Only went there once but pretty area and good fishing. I've fished around spruce pine a few time. Nice water there too!

what kind of line are you using? Have you tried the Suntech 30?

I think I was using a Yamatoyo #3 Level Line in this video. However, for most of my tenkara fishing now I have switched to Seaguar Red Label fluorocarbon fishing line in 8, 10, and 12 lb test. I think 10lb test is equivalent to a #3 line. This line casts better for me (is a little more limp), is a high quality line, and you get 250 yds for about $15 so I can “clip and go” as needed. It is clear but I don’t see any need for colored lines. I have not tried the Suntech Kurenai 30 but I own the 33 and 45. Both are fantastic rods and my favorite for bluegill and smaller trout. They both cast great, are super light, and you have to play the fish rather than just hoist them in. I use the 45 for boat fishing since it gives me more reach when dock/structure fishing. Only down side is I tend to lose a lot of the bass caught while bluegill fishing. Rods are just too soft to get a good hookset. Last summer I lost a monster bass of maybe 6 or 7 lbs that I caught on a small streamer while bluegill fishing. I “fought” it (or rather was towed around by it) for maybe 10 minutes before it jumped and threw the hook! The Kurenai 30 would be a little short for some situations but if you’re fishing small waters, it would be a great rod. Anyway, thanks for watching and let me know if I can be of service.
