Have just gotten into Gaslands and am enjoying these videos immensely. A good road surface medium i've found is skateboard grip tape or shed roofing felt btw, perfect road texture!
Looking great with the barriers and cameras, especially when all terrain and cars are consistent in weathering! “ ROAD If every part of a vehicle’s maneuver template and final position all touch a ROAD surface, the vehicle may push it without gaining a hazard token.”
This game really changes you as a person Now during every action movie I watch I can’t help but think “wow that vehicle would be really good in gaslands ”
Another awesome video James. I'm definitely interested in seeing more terrain videos that I hope will eventually become part of a larger wasteland's world in the eyes of JH Miniatures? Thanx for sharing and keep on waste landing man?!
this is great! I have some suggestions, I find that prior to the sand texture the first thing I do is lay down different sizes of thread in the pattern of cracks then do my texture then peel away the threads revealing the deeper set cracks. Through trial and error, I’ve found that painting the cracked areas first with my base coat color then using rubber cement (cow gum for you Britt’s) on the threads before laying them down. for pot holes I use liquid latex. I love your work as always Jim.
Have you tried using roof tiles? :) on one side its more rough (bigger scale if you will) and on the other side, it’s more smooth. It’s my go to road material.
@@jhminiatures7867 It´s pretty thick :P, and the one side has a very rocky surface. I use a knife to make cuts, then brake it apart. I´d be happy to provide some pictures of my roads if you want :)
I use a scale calculator to start and see how wide it really should be for reap life scale. Then work how ever I want. Narrow roads, wide roads, multi lane roads.
So I'm from Wichita Kansas, you're talking about strange lines on the roads. My girlfriend and I went to Oklahoma just north of Oklahoma City recently, about 2 hours south of Wichita Kansas. This is the only place in the United States with squiggly lines on the road. My girlfriend and I had no idea what they were for. I figured it was to catch drunk drivers, but the real reason was to tell drivers that you were in a school zone, and to drive slower. It was totally strange.
I used the adhesive side for the road, putting sand on it and painting it. I left the tile side as it is. So if the road tiles were turned over, you'd see a weird tile pattern 😉
I had the same thought and cringed a bit when I saw the Citadel stuff come out to be used on scenery! 😆 Maybe it’s different there though. Citadel is LUDICROUSLY EXPENSIVE here in the US but you can buy yellow, black, and white craft paint for $0.50 per bottle. I guess also you have to factor in whether or not you feel like going to a store too though. Not having to go in public definitely has value! 😆

Or 80 grit sand paper if you have some laying around.
this has to be like the final How to build something related to roads lol. I would love to see a video on How to build a Wasteland City/Settlement
I can do that 😉
Cool 😎 love it awesome 👍😎❤🎉

You know it 😁 aye! And so simple too!
The floating math montage had me dying lmfo. Well done sir!

I'm going to use the plate and mug trick to make turns for my own roads.
Glad to hear it 😁 I can't wait to see man!

Very cool! and thanks for the mention :)
no worries man ;-)
Hellloooo JH! Fantastic how-to video. I will be using this for my roads. Stay shining and chrome! Until Humungus can sing a high C, I'll stay wasted.
As always, thank you for watching Gregori 😉
Love your stuff get a sponge like thing for your mic.

Sounds like a good shout 😉 but is it easy to cut with scissors?

JH Miniatures ive done something similar you can use cheap sandpaper on the back for texture
Solid idea man 😉
Don't make roads big enough for cars! Make them big enough for Semi tractors!
Second that 😎

I n America we have the same roads?!

It's great for messing with learner drivers 😂 they have no idea what they're in for!
Haven't tried sandpaper yet?
Maybe one day ;-)
I use sandpaper for my road
Did you structure the adhesive side or the other?

@@jhminiatures7867 Thanks for clearing this up!
@@warhammerbremen1148 No worries :-)
Nice, but man don't use citadel paint for that ! o_O Cheap acrylic paint in big bottle will be fair enough ! ;)
I'm sorta kinda running low on...everything 😂

JH Miniatures Also, as an American I appreciate the use of inches. 😂 Although I wish we would have started using metric long, long, long ago.
wassup jh miniatures
Hey man 😉
Please tell me you put cheaper paint in those pots. You must be RICH AF to be using Citadel for terrain!!!
horable
+1 like and sub
Nice video!
Haha thank you man! 😁
