Notice how in Aerith's date, Cloud says something but we cant hear, because his words are "drowned by fireworks" just like the song title...
Aerith's was my favorite because it also builds on the story for the following act. Barret's is nice and Red's is an interesting lore dump.

I thought the English voice actors did a phenomenal job. I’ll give credit where it’s due.
Ngl, I didn't think they were bad, but I've always liked their JP actors since Advent Children

Yeah... the subtitles in game aren't really translated but instead it's just what the English voices say. You will see the English and Japanese version say different lines all the time.
Wish we could get a translation option.
which ones for example? I watched the Aerith one and that seems the same to me
the subtitle is for the english dub, JP & EN dubs are slightly different in their script, EN does not only direct translate, they rewrote a bit to make it sounds better & smoother in English grammatically~
