Much of this video clips shot by / navslipjig who built and sails the John Welsford Navigator yawl. Second day of a four day sailing trip on the Patuxent River in southern Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay. Eleven boats: three Marsh Cats, a Handy Cat, a Haven 12 1/2, the Navigator, an O'Day, a Crotch Island Pinkey, an Albacore, a custom canoe, and a Melonseed Skiff.

Fantastic video Barry.
Thanks, Buddy. That was a really great three or four days of sailing.
I wish I was sailing on a boat of my own with them...
Nice, very nice.
Great video and story... good music too but unable to link to any of it... 🎶
Did I hear Mike wick's voice in there? :^)
Yup!
So nice! :-)
Nice mix of classic boats. I know it wasn't a race, but did any one in particular do better to weather? I'm looking for a replacement for my current sailboat when we move to the coast.
+Mark Ritter Most of the boats have a favored point of sail. The catboats are hard to beat on a reach, for instance. Probably the best all around on all points of sail would be the Navigator at 7:39 and the shots following from inside it. With that yawl rig it's the most versatile. However, it's also the most complicated to build of the boats in this fleet.
Beautiful catboats. What are they?
They're Marsh Cats. Great boats. There's also one Handy Cat in there, too. Most of the video is shot from a Melonseed, which is also cat rigged. The green one at the end is a Marshall.
Some of them should have left a passenger and a boat motor at home, lightened their load as much as possible. Texas
What lake is this on??
