I will admit when I'm wrong and I was wrong about Underwood actually coming. On the last video about the 10.5 million being too much for a player, I stated that he clearly didn't want to come to Michigan with how long the recruitment was taking. I am pleasantly surprised by this commitment but still think the money is too much for a college player.
Michigan's plan all along was to go into the portal if they didn't get Underwood they have a five-star Brady heart coming in in 26 who was aware they were going after Underwood and was fine with it.
This is a win for Michigan but what are the implications for the sport? Michigan was the canary in the coal mine for college football tradition vs NIL booster mad money. Looks like money trumps tradition. It's officially a pro league with no spending cap, no dead periods, unrestricted free agency.
Everyone keeps saying g sherrone should have gone to the portal for a qb. JJ and Jimmy left late. By the time that happened, cam and company were no longer available. Rather than bring in a mediocre qb, they decided to give their middling guys a shot.
The QB is one player. You will need to double or triple your NIL investment every season in order to have the pieces to reliably compete against UO and OSU. Any gain will be short lived as they will respond by ramping up their spending (Knight's promise of unlimited NIL to UO). All talent will be concentrated with the handful of teams with the most generous donors. This has become a nuclear arms race. The game is for sale to the highest bidder. Occasionally we may see a new coach bring a bunch of super seniors through the portal to have one magical underdog season.
Michigan numberr 1 qb, Ohio State number 2 qb USC number 4qb. Plus others UCLA gets Tennessees QBs younger brother i think he will be better. The Big 10 means business
You buried the lead and lost sight of the fact that this was a take from the “bag dropping SEC.” And if you want to see deep pockets, wait until you see 〽️🏈 start spending. Yep, a disappointing year for certain, but it will lead to many more 〽️🏈 🏆! Tip of the iceberg folks. Combine NIL with culture and a truly transformational school, you’ll be seeing the block M a lot from this point forward. Looking forward to a great 〽️ 🏀 season.🎉 〽️
Weird, bein a B1G commentator you shouldn’t seem so upset that 〽️🏈 has the best QB in the B1G…..again! After signin day & portal, ya won’t say ‘25 is a .500 team. 😎
I am old enough to remember when Magic Johnson was recruited by both MI and MI State back in 1977. Magic was on TV as a high school kid. And his recruitment was huge at the time. If social media had e coated back then OMG. This reminds me so much of that. Look what Magic did and let’s hope this kid c an be even close.
$10M to keep an instate player at Michigan?!! What's it going to cost next year? Michigan is one of the top public Universities in America. They have a tremendous football tradition with the most wins in college football. If Michigan has to pay $10M to attract an instate QB, what does that say about the current landscape of college football? The P4 needs to agree to a lottery draft and salary caps similar to the NFL. Otherwise it's going to become a farce with the richest teams buying all available talent. Do we really want to see OSU's NFL-ready 90% blue chip ratio playing Northwestern's 2% blue chip ratio? It's like watching a HS 4A vs 1A, heavyweight vs flyweight. When one team is able to buy up the majority of 5 star players nationwide, what is the point of televising these match ups? Without an o-line, the QB is dead money. How much is Michigan now going to commit to buying the best available o-line? I predict that UO's $23M NIL is only the beginning of where this is going. I find it difficult to believe that doubling roster NIL every year is sustainable or won't lead to relegation of teams with fewer resources.
I hope Michigan Wolverine football team doesn't waste Bryce Underwood talent by running the football too much and get a new offensive Cordinators to help with Bryce Underwood development because Curt Campbell is not the answer and Michigan needs a better offensive Cordinators
The “Hammer” fell on that already- Do you think Petitti will let the Toothless NCAA punish one of his Golden Geese? Besides, the Big10 doled out punishment without presenting any proof against Michigan. The Networks will not allow it.
I just slipped on the floor from the Ohio State fans tears 😢
Bryce underwood and Michigan winning natty next year 🏆🏆💯
I mean they're not exactly hurting for QBs between Noland, Sayin and St Clair
Take Tavien St Clair for sure not even close
I guess Harbaugh is stealing sign in the nfl 😂 the things people believe
What else have they got?
@@Jleed989 Who’s got it WORSE then them…NOOOOBODY! 😂
We know people are not always Smart. Harbaugh knows how to coach
@Jleed989 Michigan winning another natty next year 🏆 🏆

They still might need to, depending on how Davis has developed. Playing a freshmen in the B1G is not ideal, ask Dylan Raiola.
Its 13 miles from his Highschool football field to the Big House.

@@mbo7613 Its the wild west. And I haven't forgotten Laquan Treadwell, and losing him to Ole Miss for 100K.....

Our CURRENT QBs are "mediocre" 😂 and there was an April portal window which was open for 2 weeks btw
How did that work out?
Bryce underwood and Michigan winning natty next year 💯 🏆

@@mbo7613 Michigan has deeper pockets than most of the other schools that allegedly already spend a lot on NIL.

I love so much having USC and UCLA and Oregon and Washington. We want competition.

Now adding Underwood
This could save Sheerone, but he needs to make some coaching changes. I think Wink needs to go.

Oh hell yeah
QB makes or breaks the coach. Everyone will be saying what a genius coach Moore is now that he has a 5 star ;)

Michigan one in the end but there should of never been a race anyway. They should’ve had him kicked for years
no guarantee for $10 million
No but he is very talented. Considerably more than JJ.
Watched the kid play Detroit Catholic sorry wasn’t impressed
Jayden Davis and Brady heart.
Wonder how fast he will run when they get hit with sanctions
Lol won't be anything to effect him.
Lmao always that one clown
