    Thanks for this idea. Using this combination, with 2 extra pac-12 upright sections. I am able to tune, all bands, from 20 metres to 10 metres without the lossy coil. M1REK

    I use about same setup with AT-271 SEM 35 antenna and 3/8 24 UNF to M10 adapter which works fine too. I also replaced the SO 239 on the base part with a waterproof N chassis mount.

    You showed you antenna in the field with the feed insulator up side down. You have the center conductor of the coax connected to the radial field and the shield connected to the vertical antenna ?

      I need to buy some test equipment so I can measure antenna without TX-in, for sure will do follow up video but getting HF antenna analyzer is not a priority right now for me as I don't use it often.

      @@DARTHDANSAN If you have the PAC-12 Antenna you use the ant-129 on the PAC-12 and it connects to the radio with PL/SO 259 coax. BTW I have much better results using the antenna that came with the PAC-12.

    Good morning,
    I have a military antenna like yours, however the wiring is not the same from the antenna to the choke, how did you do it? F5CAV

      I'm not sure what You mean, maybe I have matching coil upside down? What is problem? You can't get SWR low?

    The slider on my coil is very hard to move up and down. Is there a way to make this easier?

    • @ElectronicNoobBlog
      @ElectronicNoobBlog  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I would add some petroleum jelly to make it easier to move.

      But first check if it's not bend - maybe this is main issue!

    • @ElectronicNoobBlog
      @ElectronicNoobBlog  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DARTHDANSAN What do You mean how to connect? You attach it via 50ohm coaxial cable with adapters to match radio and antenna. In Your case most like that would be two UHF connectors. I used UHF to BNC since it's just quicker to deploy and I like military grade coax cable - but it's totally up to You - don't pay attention to any insertion loss on two adapters since it's going to be minimal.

    60 Meter modable?

    • @ElectronicNoobBlog
      @ElectronicNoobBlog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so, everything can be lengthened via coil but I think usability will be not worth.

    • @jeanlouis2487
      @jeanlouis2487 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes you have to add one other coil.. i have done with a buddipole and it's ok on 5 mhz.. using a ground system with 4 x 5 mts wire.
      I ordered a Pac 12 and i'm waiting for it . it's the same ..(copy).. antenna.
