Hey Jan. Ah, thanks for that! When I started my channel almost a year ago it was the one thing that I wanted to do. I was tired of watching gushy videos about every single diamond painting company. I wanted to watch honest, yet fair videos, and I was finding that I wasn't always able to find that. I'm thus always happy and satisfied to hear that people are enjoying the content that I'm putting out, and I'm equally happy when diamond painting companies don't get offended by my criticisms. I always try to be fair and constructive, so that if they do watch the video, they can work on improving some aspects of their product. Hugs. ❤

I completed my first Dreamer Designs a few weeks ago, it was the new version of a square kit. I did not have problems reading any symbols but I totally agree on the gapping. I found working with the loosely fitting drills as unsatisfying. I thought the drills themselves were fine, they were consistent in size and I had very minimal trash. I don't think they need to change the drills but they do need to tighten up the grid on the canvas which is probably a much easier fix from a manufacturing perspective. Great video.
Yeah, I tend to agree that it might be easier to correct the grid, but either way, whether they correct the drills or the grid, the end result would be a better experience for us as customers and diamond painters. I've subsequently started working on this canvass and I'm finding the 310's very gappy and some of the symbols somewhat difficult to read. But I'm still a supporter of DD and I do love some of their images. But the thing is that there's definitely room for improvement. Very interesting comparison, and a video that's on my "to do list" opting out on tool kits is something all companies should be offering by now in my opinion, and its one (of the many things) that I love about Diamond Art Studio uk, I really hope to see you unbox one of thier new and improved kits at some point in the future if you are ever tempted to try a new supplier xx

Great comparison. If a lot of us keep complaining about the print quality of the canvas symbols and the drills or cut back on buying the canvas then they will do something about it. You have some TH-camrs that say on their drills and canvas are great I’m so satisfied if you want to buy use my code. I’ll get a small fell or something like that. I brought 1 old canvas from them and wasn’t satisfied haven’t went back. TFS!!
Hey Kim. Yeah, it's a difficult one because DD thinks their squares are fine because some of their customers give them that type of feedback. However, those of us that have a lot of experience with different companies and different drills know that the DD squares should and could be improved. I'm sorry that you had a poor experience, and I'm holding thumbs that at some stage DD will look at improving some of the printing and the quality of the square drills. ❤
I hope DD watches your video, everything you said is spot on!! I love their artwork especially from Kurtis R but I really wish they would step up and listen to us about repeating pleas for clearer symbols, spot on rendering, and better drills in square! I personally really love their round drills but don’t like their ABs, the older square I did from them was a nightmare and I have told everyone that! 😂 I hope they will continue to make changes and improvements as their artwork is really great!! ❤
I totally agree! They have some great artists and artwork, and it's always good to see a company trying to improve. For that reason, I feel that they should continue with trying to make improvements. There are many people that have given them feedback about their squares, but they don't think that anything needs to be done. I think part of the problem is that not all of their customers are as experienced as some of us, and so the company tends to get good feedback about their drills from those who haven't tired other places, which leads the company to think that their drills are fine. But, those of us in the know, know. 😂. There's definitely room for improvement in regard to the DD square drills, and it would be encouraging for us to see some move by DD to improve their squares. ❤I'm so glad my daughter researched my Christmas gift. She doesn't care about diamond painting but she does care about my having a high quality experience. She even knew about the click! She chose a mid-sized Diamond Art Club square for me so I was spoiled early on. All of your hard work makes me feel I should at least try out the square Dreamer Designs kit I have in my stash. I'll try to get to that soon so I can give DD my feedback. We gave my sister-in-law two square Italian city scenes but because it was a gift she was reluctant to complain to me about them but now that I have approached the subject she might feel comfortable contacting the company. I'm not sure. People handle disappointment in different ways. Speaking of disappointment, I have encountered a couple of expressions of disappointment regarding Jade's drills and I responded with a strong statement about my own experience. Unfortunately the next time I checked out that channel she was blaming herself for not doing enough research. Jade had responded to her but not about offering better drills but about how an artist she liked at Diymoonshop is now available through Jade. It was hard not to feel like an idiot for ever speaking up about it. I realize I only have a tiny voice in all of this but I so appreciate your taking me seriously. It takes the edge off of the dissonance I experience trying to address these issues in the wider community. Thanks for your friendship and support.❤
Great video Kim. I am a DAC snob and I do not own any other canvases from any other companies. Now I do go on all the websites and check them all out and Dreamer Designs is one that I always thought I would probably buy from one day but, some of these small problems like the over saturation have stopped me from buying even thought I love Moon Lily by Kurtis Rykovich and really want her. After seeing this video it does'nt seem like many changes have been made. So I'm still on the fence about it. Take care.

The thing with DD is that I really do enjoy them, and I love some of the images. I do have a large stash, but I will admit, that their product isn't without fault, and there are things that could be improved upon. ❤
This was a really interesting comparison. I am not convinced it is the actual drills that are the problem - I think it is the size of the grid that causes slight gapping. I used some of their drills on another company's canvas and had a tight fit, but that's just my experience and of course people have different experiences. I quite liked the old canvas material - it felt nice and sturdy. Wat I will say though, I think there was more colour bleeding in the symbols with the old material. I recently got confirmation that the white symbols are not printed, the colour is just printed around it (much like when we print in colour on a home printer) and that often leads to blurry symbols. Another company has started printing their symbols in light yellow to circumvent the issue - so I want to give them a try and see how it affects the symbols and overall experience. As for the sticker situation.... I had a similar experience with a DAC kit. Almost a year later, I still cannot find the five missing ones (the bottom five just disappeared into thin air) 😂
Hi Somé. Yeah, I agree. I think the grid needs to be adjusted to fit the drills. That said, I'm working on Mariposa at the moment and the 310s aren't good at all. I can say with confidence that DD also has a drill problem. So they probably need to do two things - look at their drills, and try to improve them, especially the darker colours, AND they also need to ever so slightly adjust their grid. And I feel the same way as you about the canvass. I prefer the old canvass material. It was sturdy and I didn't get wrinkling with it. As always, thanks for watching and chatting with me. ❤️
