Then You Turn Away was the 3rd single from Sugar Tax, Call My Name was the last release from the album.

You are quite right, my mistake.

@@CookieMusic43 - TYTA has always been one of my favourite tracks from what is a great album. Sometimes the best tracks don’t make great singles ... and vice-versa.

Nice to see all those old OMD singles again. I agree with you that the singles from their first three albums were their best. Julia's Song and Promise could have also been great singles of that period. Was the Electricity single you showed the late 79 re-release? I think the original Factory single had a black on black sleeve. Designers were a bit crazy back then.

Thanks, it's actually a 1980 re-issue of the 1979 Dindisc issue, so not worth anything at all

Another excellent singles ranking there Richard, love OMD’s singles and pretty much agree on your ranking there. Look forward to the next one and take care.

Hi Richard I enjoy that you rank the singles just showing them wouldn’t be the same . “Now “ orchestral manoeuvres in the dark are a duo I never really connected with . That’s not to say they didn’t release at least 10 great singles because they did .. I agree with your number 1 though maid of Orleans would be a close 2nd from me that record sounds amazing . I always love seeing your singles I think I’ve maybe a dozen orchestral manoeuvres in the dark singles .. quick fun thought Richard . I was thinking that if you took all the number 1s from your charts and compiled them into a best of the best chart .. I think it would be a interesting video .. though we know Kate bush would be number 1 ha ...

Now that would be an idea Rob but I would need to do about 20 singles videos to have a nice even Best Of The 20 video. I can't be too far away! lol

Forgot to say I agree with your top 5. Our tastes concur. What next Tears for Fears.

I'm afraid there will never be a Tears For Fears ranking, never liked them

I'm really not up on my OMD. I have their first album on vinyl which I picked up for a quid a couple of years ago but I haven't paid it much attention as yet. Much as Rob had no idea that Squeeze had released so many singles, I'd never have guessed OMD had so many. Richard, I've noticed it's curious that you don't like dance music but do like disco.

Hi James, I do like a bit of 70's disco. Dance music from the 80's onwards I think was completely different although there are probably a few songs I would give the thumbs up to

@@CookieMusic43 I got really into dance music in the 90's, particularly things like the Prodigy etc. Don't listen to much of it now though, it was music of its time and place really.

Another good ranking video Richard. OMD are one of my fav 80s acts. I have their 1st 3 albums, the 1st 2 on vinyl. I have a Greastest hits, of theirs, which is a really good album. I have their early singles, probably their 1st 6. Their early synth singles are their best, songs, for me.
I got to see them live, in 91,when Paul Humphreys rejoined, supporting Simple Minds, at Maine Rd, great concert.. Was never keen on them after the mid 80s , never really liked Dazzle Ships, or Sugar Tacks, they went too commercial for me, not keen on their 90s output either.
I agree with your Top 5 choices, that would have been my choice, but i would have put Messages at No 6,, would have put it in my Top 5, but i would'nt replace any of the Top 5 choices.
How about doing a Tears for Fears, and Echo and The Bunnymen Rankings,,one of my fav 80s indie bands.
I;ve just bought a double EATBM ,Greatest Hits album, great album, i did'nt realise how good they were.
Looking forward to the next one. Cheers Sean.

I don't have very many Echo & The Bunnymen singles (about 6 or 7) but have their 80's albums on vinyl. Tears For Fears were a band I never liked, sorry

Just a suggestion I for one would prefer you to show the singles in the order they were released. I have no objections to you rating them. I do enjoy your videos. Cheers

I tend just to do collection videos when either I find it too difficult to rank or I'm just too lazy

I’d rate dreaming and if you leave much higher, but otherwise I think you got it right.
