It's really sad. I know a really lovely woman named Karen and she told me when she says her name at retail places and restaurants she sees an automatic 'oh oh' face. She said if she has a problem with something she has to be VERY careful how she approaches things because of the way people react because of her name. She is the sweetest person I know. I feel so bad for her.

Same thing happens with a very sweet CNA I know at a rehab center. She has the "Karen haircut" but it's a beautiful white, people treat her so rudely because of it.
I never understand when karens go after teenagers. do they not remember being a teenager? you are not going to win a fight against a bunch of teens. they will just laugh at you. even if you are in the total right, you're gonna be made to look the fool because you are arguing with teens who are just laughing at you.
I worked fast food when I was 16-20. Once I was 18 I became a manager. I always stood up for my employees. Now that I’m disabled and in a customer only position I let them have it even worse as I did as a manager

When I was younger, At my mom’s house. Our neighborhood had this Karen. One day I was with my friend playing in the backyard of the neighborhood (the grass was public to everyone who had a house) and this Karen would watch me and my friend and it would make us uncomfortable so we would get my mom and then the Karen would scream at the top of her lungs at my mom. My mom had to report it to the landlord. I havn’t seen that Karen again.

Fun fact: a business can detain you if they suspect theft until proven you didn't steal or until police arrive. It's literally so easy to just walk out with your receipt in your hand, that dude clearly wasn't handing over the receipt in the first place.

what ihe ignored a customer's reasonable request, Ketchup is not put in a box, they certainly do not finger food, all he had to do was bring the ketchup over ab=nd then give the man what he wanted on his burger, Not argue, especially as no Mcdonalds in the UK gives Ketchup like that, it is in sachets ot little tubs, Even the blokes mate could not believe anyone would put ketchup in a box, how was he supposed to even put in on the burger, get greasy fingers lifting the burger out.
Is this real? I've seen this same employee eating someone's order when they complained it was too cold at the same location.
Walmart manager just stared at that receipt thinking "even I don't get paid enough to put up with this crap" over and over, and let him go. I don't think he checked a single thing.
They never do which is why it's so pointless.... I would never shop there but they have such a monopoly on everyday essentials that it is almost impossible.
Only thing I think of is that Walmart had complaints from differently abled employees that being only a greeter is demoralizing so they gave them a pretend job of 'checking' receipts so they had an actual task to perform.
I don't know if it was mentioned, but the biggest reason receipts get checked is if there's unbagged items, or items in the very bottom of the cart.
But we definitely aren't supposed to detain people.

My single mother was a target at Walmart and was always checked to see if she was stealing. She had 3 kids, so of course she had a lot, but many other people (with lots of groceries as well) didnt get stopped

I work at Walmart. Just don't ask for the manager of the Asset Protection in my store. He's at the very least former FBI 😬. The one before him was one even Karens learned to listen to quickly. (He's still alive, just at another store)

I've worked at 2 McDonald's and we always put extra sauce in the burger and most people would be put of with people touching there food with their bare hands in front of them. The people making the food off course wear gloves but people packing don't because their just touching the wrapper or box.
