It’s crazy, I remember watching this so many seasons ago. Medical technology has advanced so far. To date the longest survived person on an LVAD is 7 years. My Dad was recently lucky enough to receive a transplant and was able to forgo this life saving treatment option. Izzy should have left the damn thing in place without putting Danny through all that stress. Then he might have been able to hang on for an actual match without her stealing an organ from someone else. Never could stand her

I think she has been scolded by Ellis since child hood so if someone shouts at her she gets scared like a kid I think those memories of Ellis yelling gets to her.
Awesome characters, fantastic episode, incredibly show how far a person who really loves someone can do to save his/her life. Definitely grey's anatomy has taught me a lot of things, for which I will always love this serie.

Impressive how people hate izzie for this, it's insane... LOVE is not always a good feeling. The beautiful and tragic thing about love is that it's WILD and does anything to survive. It's a force of nature.. So yeah, Izzie was not being right, or good. She was fighting for love, she gave everything she could, she was fucking brave, no matter what you say. And that's why everyone stood by her side, because there is TRUTH in all this mess.
That wasn't bravery, that was reckless endangerment of a patient. Hippocratic Oath. Do no harm. It's the founding principle of modern medicine. This was the most egregious violation of that oath she ever performed. She shouldn't even have a license to practice medicine after that. Love is irrelevant. There's ethics. There's morals. There's a duty and obligation to do right by your patients. Her actions put the very integrity of the hospital in jeopardy. LOVE does not mean you get to violate the Hippocratic oath. That's the dumbest notion in the history of medicine. She was obsessed to the point of violating the very principles that the public relies on in order to maintain trust in medical institutions and their practitioners.
