    After watching so many towns in central Italy, some of them start to resemble others. Here is a well kept medieval town. Some areas look more beautiful than others as they have the view of the mountains. The Churches are beautiful. Italy has the most beautiful churches. I enjoyed video, thanks.

      Glad you enjoyed also this new walk in Bomarzo dear Esther. Well kept indeed and in such a nice position. Love the tuff stones of all that area around Viterbo, such a typical colour these towns have...Filmed quite a lot of towns nearby by now.. But I should go back to film some other new ones. Maybe in Spring time I'll make it.
      Wish you a nice Sunday Esther and see you soon at the next walk then

    Caro Ricardo, ho preso l'abitudine di salvare: ogni giorno , dopo il lavoro, cerco di viaggiare in Italia grazie ai tuoi meravigliosi video. Non voglio guardare la TV, ascoltare le notizie, prendere vino bianco freddo, formaggio - e andare in piccole città medievali. Ora nel mondo di Xie è così fragile e caotico, e queste case - con spessi muri di pietra - sono rimaste per secoli e rimarranno ancora. È così confortante, solo un'ancora di stabilità nel nostro mondo instabile)))

    • @StillWanderer
      @StillWanderer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ciao Ela, sempre felice di leggere che questi video possano portare piacere e una "calma" nel mondo caotico del giorno d'oggi. Devo ammettere che questo hobby aiuta tantissimo anche me mentre li filmo, e specialmente nel raggiungere questi posti in auto... la preparazione, gli incontri con persone del posto. E' tutto molto rilassante e come una "evasione" dal mondo di ogni giorno. Spero davvero di continuare così ed avere le energie e le possibilità di viaggiare così.
      Ti auguro una buona domenica cara Ela,e ci vediamo presto

    Beautiful gliding camerawork once again. It really adds to that almost dreamlike quality as we drift through the streets. Are you using a Gopro or Osmo Pocket for this walk? Any gimbal? The historic notes you add are always fascinating as well, allowing us to see those who lived long ago in these now quiet walkways. Love those narrow, winding streets, passing by endless stairways up to homes. They live in such a special part of Italy. I will know that the world is truly coming to an end when I see a Wal-Mart or a Costco around one of those corners! Marvelous walk!

    • @StillWanderer
      @StillWanderer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Dear Ken, always happy to see you back. I used a Osmo for this walk. Now I try to mix in between Osmo and GoPro. I used the stabilizer for the Osmo and liked the results, though I think shooting in 5k with the GoPro has more quality to it... but it's difficult to stabilize the 4th axis with it compared to the Osmo! Indeed... I hope these towns stay they way they are... I don't like change much per se so... I completely agree there Ken

    " UNA città non può restare nascosta quando è posta su un monte", ha illustrato Gesù Cristo. Bomarzo come molte altre città medievale, offre infinite possibilità, pur essendo una città piccola e solitaria ma ambita in tempi antichi. Il labirinto delle sue strade risuonano gli echi della sua storia, la sua luminosità e sempre mutevole, secondo la rotazione della Terra, e ancora riverbera la sua disprezzata bellezza.
    Il pianto inconsolabile di un bambino in piazza del Duomo riflette qualcosa del suo passato. Oggi, grazie a Dio, la violenza del suo racconto si è trasformata in piccole risate, proprio come il pianto di quel bambino quando fu consolato. Le numerose scale in pietra consumata di Bomarzo ne rivelano antichità. Licheni e muschi regnano nei suoi vicoli.
    Il fonte senza aqcua santa nella chiesa riflette la sua desolazione.
    Bomarzo a volte sembra un po' triste, malinconico, persino gotico. La stagione dell'anno e le sue numerose pietre scure producono quella sensazione.
    Qualcosa di quella malinconia o tristezza, a parte la morte della moglie, deve aver permeato il cuore di Pierfrancesco Orsini quando ha creato il suo Parco dei Mostri nella Foresta di Bomarzo.
    Saluti, Riccardo !

      Caro Juan, che bel messaggio e che bel regalo che ci fai ogni volta … ed è un regalo fatto a tutte le persone che leggono, un regalo gratuito e solo figlio dell’amore e della passione. Bellissimo come sempre. L’ho trovata anch’io a volte triste e gotica anche, un mix di bellezza, malinconia , architettura e mistero. Bella davvero Bomarzo… spero di averle fattu un regalo con questo video e resa ancora un po’ più celebre di quanto lo è già. Ti auguto un buon weekend caro Juan e ti mando un caro saluto come Sempre, amico mio

    The houses in this town have a lot of character (that's how I feel). They seem to not have been touched since they were built. The one on via G.Pepe, for instance, I can't describe it.
    Was trying to guess what type of animal was the statue in front of the Duomo of Bomarzo. And using old funeral statues....why not, recycling.
    Be careful of cats, Riccardo 😽they might attack you🤣 you've already been surprised by dogs🫣

    • @StillWanderer
      @StillWanderer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hah loved that cat sign Geraldine) Character... I think you nailed it actually. They show character indeed - something different from pure beauty or pure unattractive. And then some modern renovated one in the middle of the others. Quite an interesting place it is. Many tourists visit the "Gardens of Bomarzo" but few the town proper so.. I tried to give it a chance too. It truly deserves it. About the statue... still uncertain actually)
