Hi there I’m a male and this is a vlog that men should watch if they have young women travelling with them because they need to know what requirements and what needs to be done to make their lives and trip as enjoyable and satisfying as there’s.
We’re working really hard to save for a van for us and our three kids to travel around Australia. They will be 4, 7 & 10 yrs old at the time. A camper trailer is our plan B so we don’t have to completely give up our dream because we can’t afford the perfect setup. We just want to make it happen. Do you think it’s doable for a trip of less then a year (we’re excluding WA from this trip)? Other then the setup and having a home for everything, what other things make it seem hard that I should take into consideration? Thanks girls ❤️
full time. I would find it stressful trying to find a toilet and shower every day, but people do do it. Washing is the other thing too. We don’t have many clothes and they accumulate in the washing basket quickly. Without my small washing machine I don’t think I would cope having to constantly go to a laundromat. Again it’s certainly doable but for me it’s taking up my work time to go to laundromats instead of being able to do it from the comfort of my caravan. At the end of the day I think it all comes down to what you’re prepared to spend and what you think you can handle. I’ve seen people travelling Aus in rooftop tents, swags, trailers, caravans and buses from all different walks of life. You will find what will suit you best. My only advice is don’t wait, life is short and no one is promised tomorrow. Get out there as soon as you can in whatever rig you can. Home is what you make it and it is different for everyone. Hopefully we will see you on the road one day soon 😉. Hope this helps.
Great video. I’d be on the rd if it wasn’t for my eldest who is currently in yr 12. My other son is yr 10 and mathematically brilliant who would like to be on the rd . But I’ve been concerned I wouldn’t find a program that would facilitate his senior subjects for when he goes to uni as that is his projection because he wants to be a neurologist. Donna what are your thoughts about senior school subjects?
Firstly how awesome that your son knows what direction he would like to head, a neurologist is an amazing career choice. I'm thinking this may be above my pay grade to answer as my teenage girls are still unsure as to what they would like to do. I have just stuck to the Australian Curriculum subjects until they gain an idea of what calls to them. It’s a really tricky one too as when you homeschool there is no official transcript from an independent/external educational institution that will provide an academic comparison to prove your child’s ability to work at university level. I won’t lie as it is something that does concern me with my children not being in a school environment to gain those end-of-year certificates. However, I have been assured by many homeschooling parents that have schooled their children their entire schooling years that it will not affect their ability to get into the career of their choice. The link below is a good resource with regards to Homeschooling and Australian University entry without an ATAR which might help to answer your question and is something I am going to need to start looking into further for my eldest daughter. Hoping by that time she has some idea on what she would like to do with her life. Her plans to get an 80 series land cruiser and rooftop tent to go off travelling sound like fun but she will need something under her belt to help her save to get there. myhomeschool.com/au/homeschooling/australia/university/ I hope this helps
Donna you mention the homeschooling programs for your younger two, is this what your eldest daughter uses also? If not what does she use? We are travelling with our nearly 16 year old and a 9 year old. I’m homeschooling and I was finding doing year 10 I am struggling to find resources that makes it easy to teach, so I’m trialing Education Perfect at the moment.
Hi there guys, thanks for your question. My eldest uses the Maths Online program with her siblings as it has every year level in it however for her English she doesn’t use the same program as her siblings as that program they are using is only to year 6 so she uses the Excel English Workbook for her English. She works through the entire book and then completes 2 written task as her assignments that I use to hand into the Home Education Department. They can be any form of writing that she chooses wether it be a persuasive text, narrative, discussion, procedural, informative etc on a topic of her choice. All other subjects she just uses workbooks that we find along the way at bookstores for her grade in History, Geography, Science etc Hope this helps.

Donna , it sounds like your children are developing skills on the road that they will take with them through their lives.
A gamble that is paying off.
They sure are developing wonderful skills 😁

The sound is too low the girls need mics. will watch it when I find some head phones.
Must be your device - it’s been perfect on our phones, TV, laptop and our friends 🤔
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown bugga🤔
Watching it again, it does actually need to be turned up quite a bit. We did have some intermittent mic issues that we are working on 🤪
